The theme was folk music... But there was nothing folk about it... In all the performances, the feeling needed to sing folk music was completely missing (excluding Swaroop, since folk music runs in his blood)... I was thoroughly disappointed with yesterday's episode and even more was upset with the judges judgement... I would have to say say the judgement of the judges of II5 have gone downhill because it seems like they are judging them on their favourites instead of who is actually singing good...
This is how I am ranking the contestants based on Gala 4...
1. Swaroop... Folk music runs in his blood and there was no doubt he was the best... He had the feel and he had the soul. He sang beautifully and kudos to him.
PS. I never thought I'll praise him... 😆... But he was good...
Okay, before I carry on with my ranking, let me tell you that none of the singers below sang with the soul and feel needed to sing a folk music...
2. Sreeram... Excellent singing although I felt a bit lost and disconnected... I remember when I heard the original track how mesmerized I was... I know I shouldn't be comparing but I felt he was only singing good... There was no feel to it...
3. Arpita was good yesterday... Many of you might not agree but I thinking singing wise and attitude wise her performance was brilliant...
4. Shivam... I like him and he sang the song very well but I felt that he was playing too much around with the song... I felt he went a bit overboard...
5. Tia... I salute this girl because she is working hard... She is trying to prove everyone wrong and doing a great job at that... Her performance was great but like always there is scope of improvement and hopefully she will improve and be the best...
6. Rakesh... I found his singing monotonous again... There was nothing so special about the way he was singing... I don't know why the judges were so happy... With him the singing was good but there were no expressions or feel...
7. Bhoomi... Her overall performance was good and she did justice to the song... Enjoyed her performance...
8. Naushad... I was thoroughly disappointed with his singing... The song choice was bad and his singing was terrible... This performance of his proves that he is not highly versatile and most comfortable singing songs of his own genre... Good luck to him though...
9. Shashi... After that awesome performance of O Meri Jaan two weeks ago, he has disappointed me yet again... The song he selected was good but he failed to do justice to it... His went off-key and sung terribly... Highly disappointed...
10. Yashraj... Disgusting and completely disappointing performance... I simply did not like it... It was terrible without a doubt...
So, for me based on Gala 4, the Bottom 3 are Naushad, Shashi and Yashraj....
However, I feel its going to be Arpita shown the door since she has been in the bottom for two consecutive weeks...
