If you sidetrack a bit, then someone else is going to sidetrack a bit more replying to your post, and the cycle continues. Over here, they call this a "conversation". I don't know where your from. But there is nothing wrong with a conversation, and nothing needs to be removed. It's just a normal conversation.

Exquisite singing by Sunidhi ji! Her throw was nice, her pitch was perfect, her voice was energetic and peppy, nothing short of perfect! A 10!

8 /10.

This song is tailor made for her, and she sings with elan. But, why she gets an 8?

As a listener, if you go deep into this track, she does add energy by modulating her voice on many areas, but for that you have to listen to it deeply. It is actually pretty cleverly disguised because the main purpose of the track is to make you dance. That disguised effect could have been avoided.

Secondly, the second verse-hota hai kya ishq hota hai kya lacks a bit of energy. No offense meant, her voice sounds a bit laboured at the high notes. I too was surprised at why so, despite listening to this song many times since it came out in 2003.

Overall, it was a decent singing and on par with the energy quotient EQ, but the 2 other singers whom I have rated 10 were successful in creating more impact.

Pritam has really grown as a music director since his Dhoom days. But Dhoom was a huge success for him and catapulted him to the A-league. Watch the first minute of this video to see what Sunidhi herself thinks about the song:

The tune is quite simple. You get to hear the chameleon in Sunidhi's voice as she transitions to DHOOM MACHALE - very impressive. Then the 'Hota hai kya' portion is nice too, especially for the expression she adds.

As for the singing technicalities - even though it's a dance, the singing tempo is pretty slow and leisurely. Even the encore section at the end of the song is just more of the same - no increase in tempo. The pitching range required for the song is narrow - it doesn't go too high nor does it go too low very often. Of course, there are creditworthy sections where she hits a few high notes. And there are a few harkats, which I wouldn't say were perfecty executed as they weren't all too defined.

Enjoyed the song, but the singing is nothing amazingly challenging. Wonder if I should give this more or less than 'Chamma Chamma'...

So you think the two item songs Sunidhi sang in the video would have been better choices. What say?

It was interesting to know her views on reality shows since she herself is busy with one now.

Yeah actually I could put it in the Anu Malik thread!

Yes I think 'Mehboob Mere' would have been a more competitive song, because it requires more expression, low notes, harkats. 'Yeh Mera Dil' would have been interesting - I would have definitely pulled out Ashaji's original as a yardstick in my analysis. But don't get me wrong, 'Dhoom Machale' is a great song selection too!

This video is from the 'To Catch a Star' series, in which singers like Shreya, Shaan, Sonu, KK, Sukhwinder were also interviewed, as well as music directors Vishal-Shekhar, S-E-L and Anu Malik (can't remember if Pritam was on the show...)

Discussing Pritam who is the Music Director of the movie is RELEVANT to this song and this thread. Discussing Himesh IS NOT! Since he is not associated with the movie in anyway.
