Well I can say that this is one of the best performances ever of all the Indian Idol seasons...
About the song
This song has a lot of variations in scale and has a feel of Raaga Bhairavi to it...The way the song's scale goes up and then suddenly comes down, its a very tough thing in itself to control at such a tempo.
This is the most important feature of the song...
The second is that one has to sing for such a long time in one breath..
And the tempo makes it even more difficult...

Sreeram's Performance

Had the guts to sing such a difficult song. This man has guts.
In the antara he got a lil tired, and was was visible in his singing, but he came back again in a matter of 6 seconds in THIS song...Commendable...I've always liked him since the very beginning. And this was his best performance...N I know he can do a lot better

Does that fast tempo make things harder or easier?

I think its harder. The faster the tempo harder to take a breath.

Yup. I think you are right.
In MMKM I had a huge debate with ssk bhai about this song being really breathless. According to him Shankar ji used a technique called circular breathing to minimize his breath. He may have used it but till date I haven't heard anything about that from Shankar ji himself. I was adamant that this song was recorded in parts. After watching today's performance it was quite clear how Shankar ji was taking breaths in the song. And whenever he sings live he always sings this song on a faster tempo so that his breaths are minimized to the least possible extent.

rockingggg 👏👏👏👏

sang the song twice in a short duration in two different tempos. there were couple of glitches, but overall, superb rendition. one of the best performances in II history,IMO. i was breathless till he finished.

remembering the lyrics is one of the less noticed aspects of breathless song,as Aman righly mentioned earlier.

OMG OMG all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He did wonderful in his solo singing breathless but when He sang along with SM in faster version I had goosebumps and tears rolling down...He gave me the same feeling I felt when Hemu sang Nahin Saamne....

Wow wow wow Sreeram you kept up with SM...Did not miss a beat or a word....Kya baat ......What a bliss!!!!!!
All I can is "Love u Sreeram and SM" God bless you both....
Amazing amazing amazing...👏
Here in this episode I can tell this boy willl not win the title of II 5...Deja vu...All those contestants who have been admired to be the best of the lot and given those compliments on the show were eliminated or were 1st or 2nd runner ups....Who cares if he wins of not...He simply is the winner in my heart....

Making a mark on one' mind is very imp for a performer...n Sreeram has made an excellent impression on all our minds....besides the stalwarts of the music industry which is unerasable....hez the winner for me just like how other fans and bigshots of the music industry say in awe of him...Love u Sreeram Yor are a Star....

@Dabulls, completely agree. today, when Anu malik said "it doesn't matter u win II or not,etc etc", it gave me a sense of deja vu. sonu and Anu Malik repeatedly said the same to Karunya in II2
