I'm 100% sure they count votes - why would Indian Idol ruin it's own reputation (and TRPs) by purposefully kicking out good contestants? The show lost so much prestige when Sandeep or Prashant won II - do you think the channel planned to make these two singers win, or was it more likely regionalism/xfactor which got these contestants through??
To push the audience into more voting so as to save their fav's? not that I'm saying it's being played like this. Besides if any contestant whether good or not - if doesn't bring votes and has some fan support, he just does no good for the show. Not that I'm saying it's being played this way.
Everything is possible (though still has to be proven if we would start to preach it). In fact if you thought about it Vishwas is a prefect candidate: he showed the most mature personality between the contestants, so he would not be any good for a "drama queen".
You could also doubt why he didn't get mush covering in the auditions and theater rounds? not that I'm suggesting anything.. but if you would start a decent meal, this a question for the desert.
Nothing else is in fav of Vishwas: age (!mportant as an investment), status (martial), regional... not that I'm saying he was the best singer.. have no musical experties to judge this correctly.
Manisha is the next mature one between the contestants.. but Manisha's still very young. So.. they count.. they know. and they just "might be" innocent.
Maybe not.. but not that I'm saying I know which they are.
I'm very sorry for Vishwas.. and if his elimination was unfair then it is just sad for "justice".. I'm saying.
