Hmm i think the format should mimic Indian Idol. In IF's MkMM the format was like the audience and judges score system of MkMM. This time, the format should have members voting for the singers through a poll - ie votes rather than scores.

I also think that smaller numbers of contestants will attract more members - it's easier to hear and rate five singers than 12 singers. So perhaps there should be a preliminary round like Indian Idol auditions where the judges whittle down the contestants. Then the five selected singers should
have audience voting.

How bout that format?

Based on what risingabove wrote, it seems like she wants singers who are famous and well known even today, so they should have been visible and active in the past decade. But the songs won't be limited to this decade. So for example, we could have Udit Narayan's songs from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, eventhough they were three decades ago.

Am I right risingabove?

^^oH ok thanks xobile...

Just a suggestion can we have the same singers in the competition whose songs are sung by the contestants for that week...like make it a weekly competition...so if a contestant sings Alkaji's songs then Alkaji is in the competition...dunno... does it make any sense... 😕 ...

Well one I want to sure of is that it's a fair singer where the most deserving wins. I don't remember the indian idol format that clearly, but how are judges incorporated? I mean, I remember the general audience poll like you were saying, but do the judges have any say? Because xobile you know things might not go to the most deserving if its audience only. Judges need to be there to keep things fair.

also, I think more singers are needed just to make things more normal for a lack of better word. This especially goes to the male contest, where right away a great singer was going to get bounced off. And that is not how typical shows go, where some of teh best at least make it to the next rounds and make a run...if you know what i'm trying to say. So thats why I wanted to do more singers this time......

Don't worry, once it starts, the participation rate rises! 😃
