Please understand, this not to demean them, but please make them get out of their routine styles and get them to sing a different genre, like how Sayli sang "beedi jalayle"

SMP and Anjali may as well quit the show. If the show gives them only a part mukhda/antara and lets the co singer dominate with most of the verses, wonder how will they even ask for votes. Enough of this keeping the few singers at bay!

And let us name this program Bhajan/Quwali/Ghazal -12

Doesn’t this ‘getting out of the comfort zone’ or singing ‘a different genre’ apply to SMP as well??. For a change, would like to hear her try bhajan-quwwali-ghazal! No offence, but the ones very obviously sticking to their ‘comfort zones & genres’ are SMP & Sawai. Sawai, of course, may be due to lack of training & exposure. But smp is supposedly a classically trained one! So why doesn’t she try?..

It was not the first time he came on Idol, he came last season and this season too and the judges and the team are the same so he knew how things work in these shows. And if money was very important for him them he should not have given statements like these. He was singing and enjoying in the episode and once the shoot was over he gave negative statements.

He took the money for being invited and spoke the fact.

Indian Idol is being horribly bashed by viewers on Twitter.

First give her a full song! then ask!! She hardly gets to sing a single stanza, while others go on and on with half a dozen songs, and then you want a different genre!

BTW, it was SMP from start, who has been pestered about singing in a single genre, now that when fingers are being pointed at others, all the hell break loose!!

Just a question. Legally when one accepts payment for services ( be a guest on II and do as instructed) is one allowed to reveal details thereafter?

I support revealing the truth if not bound by legalities

but to be fair to contestants who are emerging talent the positive words of judges and guests serve as encouragement. Imagine if the tell a contestant you sang badly on national tv. It can break him or her

But yes we can and should be measured in our comments so don’t over inflate what is

Simon Cowell in AI was very blunt though

None of us is in a position to give SMP or any other a full song in II12 but SMP is in a position to register her concern to the organizers. She is the contestant and she should be vocal for equal treatment of all contestants. There is no doubt that the organizers are not doing justice to all contestants in terms of giving equal opportunity to showcase their talent but it seems that the victims are very happy in the way the show is going on.

Even I think, the privileged ones of this week i.e. Pawandeep/Arunita/Sayali are puppet of the organizers. They all have to say 'yes' to the execution plan of the organizers. None of them has any voice. Pawandeep and Arunita have to digest the nonsense romantic angle between them.

BTW, the makers keep on changing their preferred ones weekly keeping only one constant.

Arunita was not in the 'good book' of the organizers initially but they had to change their script because of her series of notable brilliant performances one after another.

I remember, in II10, Soumya Chakrabarti raised few concerns decently and found himself eliminated very early. So in II12, the contestants prefer to accept such discrimination and are trying to portray their capability as much as possible within available opportunities.

SMP or any other contestants who are victim of such discrimination can raise their voice as they are the first person to be affected and as a contestant they have the right to get equal treatment.

I don't think, the organizers are going to care about the reaction of the audiences. Aditya will be featuring in any interview very shortly justifying such discrimination.

To me, II12 is no more a singing competition. Last episode was a musical opera having Pawandeep, Sayali and Arunita in lead roles. Others were in the supporting roles. The others seem to be satisfied in performing in the supporting roles.

So, I watch the show as a musical opera (TRP hunting show), not as a singing competition (talent hunting show).

Let's see what is their story line for next week.

Before asking for equal number of songs for all participants, please think of the audience!
Sunna toh hame hi padega 😂

I agree that Anjali needs to be paired with others instead of sawai all the time. Their voices and their style don’t match at all. She will be better with any of the other boys.

Sawai and Arunita or Sayali will be a better combo. They have a wider range.
And personally I think Pawan has started to sound good again. He did seem a bit down after Covid. He needs to bring more energy on stage. He shows no emotions on stage but he speaks well off stage. But something unique about his voice, it still reaches you. He keeps the feel of the song and I think he is still the best male singer of this contest.

Yes exactly! This incident is the first thing that comes to mind. How many times have we seen Amit Kumar grace any show or award function? No one likes people who are honest, truthful and burst bubbles with ease. Amit Kumar even said openly he did what he did coz he is being paid. Aaj ke time mein aisa aur kaun bolega.

Roop kumar was part of show and yet all songs were from 90s. makers have obsession, maybe dont want to step into 2000 era🤣 or they dont have copyright like many members mentioned here before.

The episodes this weekend are for Shravan Rathod who is Roopkumar’s brother. It was a celebration of Shravan’s songs - the Nadeem-Shravan duo.

They are 3 brothers: Shravan, Roopkumar and Vinod Rathod. I think Vinod had a great singing voice. His voice is closest to Kishor Kumar of all the singers I have heard.

I remember reading somewhere that Vinod was sidelined by Shravan and he preferred Kumar Sanu over his own brother. Vinod lost out on many opportunities and it was Kumar Sanu who prospered.

Roopkumar was just there as a brother. That’s why they didn’t sing his songs except probably one.

Shravan passed away very recently due to COVID which he got after going to the kumbh mela! The episodes are a tribute to him.

That mouse faced Kishore's son guy sounds like an egoist and jerk. I have youtubed him and he sings horribly. Better not to call such idiots.
