I still think Danish will be in top5. Arunitha and Sayali may make to top5. SMP seems to be in a better place but lately channel is sidelining her quite a bit not sure. I would be surprised if Anjali makes it to top5 as neither she is promoted nor with high votes. If SMP is sidelined then Ashish or Nihal have a better chance but channel may pick Ashish over Nihal.

That's my unbiased opinion but personally I want both SMP and Anjali in top5.

You are right! I will be shocked if Danish does not make top 5 with all the great performances he has given, the support he has and his growth in social media. I still think Arunita, Danish, Pawandeep, and SMP will make the top 5, but I could be wrong because it looks like there will be a big toss up between some of the contestants.

Top voted contestants (at any stage) have never missed the cut in the last 2 idols if memory serves me right. To the best of my knowledge this year has seen 4 top voted contestants - Sawai/Pawan/Arunita/SMP

There are two contestants can be called as dark horse as per judges views which is Arunita and Sayli (though i had faith in Arunita since beginning).. Arunita taken the spot long back and now she is very strong contender for winning

I have strong feeling that Sayli is the one who might make it to top 5

I am not so sure what the game has been with Arunita all along. She is too strong a contestant (and trust me the channel researches everyone) to have been considered an also ran. The Pawan drama benefited her - Pawan was already established. The drama was created by the script writer. So, I am not sure about the Arunita script. Sayli is a very strong late challenger. The OTT with her parents is also written script. Scripts are written for contestants who will last for a while in the contest. So she was assured Top 6 or 7 at least. I hope she finds a place in the finals.

I still feel Ashish might take over Sayali. In the absence of Pawandeep and Ashish, Sayali&Nihal got good promotion more screen space but now it may not be that easy. If I go by promo Ashish has one duet with Pawandeep and solo. Pawandeep might have 3-4 songs as usual. Arunitha also minimum 3. So others can only get solo.

Iam not expecting 3 girls into top5 that too with Anumalik as judge. Either Arunitha/SMP,Arunitha/Sayali along with Pawandeep, Danish. Fifth might be either Ashish or Sawai.

Definately Arunita is too strong but what i said is based on Vishal's comments. He once said Sayli and Arunita are underdogs of the season. It was his or other judges belief too (may be except neha) that she might not reach finals as they had other favourites in the beginning.

Also Arunita grabbed viewers attention before pawandeep and her connection script. Its just that after this teasing part some of Pawandeep fans shifted to Arunita. But i don't think it started to favour arunita in any way coz in one the interview nachiket said they (contestants) used tease them off-screen after that it went to aditya and then judges and himesh bought it infront of everyone in the episode.

And then fans started shipping them and channel took the opportunity to use this for trp

Absolute dark horse might be Nihal. He has low IG followers as well as least views mostly from start till now but still he made it to top9 may be he has vote base which is not clearly visible. We can't rule out.

Channel had a choice not to use if they wanted to see the back of Arunita.
The very fact that Vishal mentioned they were underdogs is unnatural. The eliminated contestants were not done that disfavour. It stinks scripted. But the public adulation of Arunita was unexpected I think. It upset some plans and scripts. Now they seem unable to manage the consequences and are resorting to Public Voting etc. As I have said before every Idol show needs an excellent Lata singer till the end. They even got Ankona in to fill the gap last year.
Anushka or Shireesha were not it. So it had to be Sayli/Arunita. Now the script has got muddled with 2 who can do the job when they need one! Tough call for them. they don't want to take it.
