Yet to watch IPML so no idea. May be other members who watch it can answer.

And about Idol, I think they should extend the show timings if they want to be fair. Even the way they end the episode is so abrupt. Like till last year also (if I am not wrong) the guests would be 'gifted' a medley by the contestants and then they were called on stage, given a shawl with confettis...this year is literally nothing. The credits roll when I least expect it. So lazy man.

You should watch Javed Ali and Kailash Kher's face off today though (if you can even call it that). They sing Arziyan. Breathtaking experience! I loved the entire episode, but you should definitely catch that last performance.

I actually wanted to watch that but I was making dinner at the time and my parents wanted to watch Idol sooooo 😆

The best thing about today's episode was that Ajay-Atul gave such meaningful comments to the singers (except SMP) and most of the time none of the judges said anything. Thank god! 😂😅 In logon ko kyun rakha hai show mein? Mausam badalne ke liye?? 🤪😆

- Sireesha made an amazing start to the episode with Saathiya and Chikni Chameli! She did justice to both very different songs! Probably the most versatile female contestant. Even Ajay-Atul appreciated her for it, which makes me happy. She's finally getting the admiration she deserves! Even her duet with Ajay was good. 👏🏻👏🏻 I really hope she makes it to the finale.

- I somewhat liked Ashish for a change. Usually I don't like his performances, and when the music for Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin started playing, I was so nervous that he'd butcher one of my favorite songs. But it wasn't bad. I didn't like Zingaat as much though. Again, very specific advice full of nuance from Ajay. Loved that! 😄😁

- SMP, what do I say about her? OMG. I'm still cleansing my soul by listening to the original Roop Tera Mastana on loop as I type this. Kishore Kumar, please heal my ears. 🤒 Her singing was just painful. How do these musicians actually like her? Even in the studio, her yodeling was so awful I had to physically cover my ears. Why is she so hyped? Okay, fine. They like her yodeling. I guess that's a matter of opinion. I can live with that. But how did Ajay walk up on stage and call her versatile? She's the least versatile of them all! Show me one song she has sung on the show without her antics; one soft melody, one song with thehrav. Anyone? No? Then how is she versatile?? I forwarded the rest of the judge's comments, but I think I saw Vishal actually touch her feet. Did that really happen? Like, are you serious? Do you not have any self-respect for yourself as an almost 50 year old musician? 😳 I'm all for appreciating and learning from younger talent, but touching their feet? Isn't that a little too much? And of course, she got Mausam badal diya (MBD). Why am I not surprised? 🙄 The only good comment about her performance was that Ajay gave a shoutout to the saxophone player.

- Sawai really made a comeback today, didn't he? He finally got appreciation for his dholak playing skills too! Thank you Ajay-Atul! You're doing the job that the judges are supposed to. He even got appreciated for how high he could sing. I didn't like his alaaps much though; it sounded like screaming more than singing. Nevertheless, his confidence got a much needed boost from the Govinda episode. And he got MBD! Was this his first? If so, nice job! 👏🏻

- Danish, as always, stole the show. He is aptly rated; he actually deserves the hype he gets. Lol, Ajay actually took out his phone to check how many high notes he was hitting. Is there some undeclared contest about who can sing the highest? 😂 Nevertheless, I think he does alaaps well. They don't hurt my ears. Very well deserved MBD. He should make it to finale as well, and seeing the judge's reactions, I think he will. Side note: How did Neha get emotional to a song like Deva Shree Ganesha? I get that it's a spiritual experience, and you can get goosebumps, but crying?? 🤨😕

- Pawandeep and Arunita were great too. Arunita, as always, was the better performer of the duet. Thank god she got the appreciation she deserves, and that too for her singing and not beauty. Thank you Ajay ji for appreciating our girl!! 😅🙌🏼 I'm also happy that Pawandeep got some constructive criticism. I was getting worried that all the praises would get to his head. He's a good singer, but overconfidence can be very destructive for an artist.

Only thing is, can these judges stop with the Pawandeep and Arunita shipping??!! Especially Neha!! 😡 There was no need to bring in Arunita's name when Himesh was talking about Pawandeep after his solo performance. And even Himesh joined in by saying there was something burning by her. Poor girl actually thought something was on fire. Leave her alone man! Can't they see how uncomfortable she is? And she's not even an adult yet! Ughh. 😠😡

- The Qawali was a very enjoyable performance, but I still don't know why it was there. They could have done away with this and instead let Pawandeep and Arunita sing solo. Or even better, give Sayli or Anjali the chance to perform. Does this mean Sayli, Anjali, and Nihal will perform once this weekend while others (Danish, Arunita, etc.) will perform twice or even thrice? Where is the consistency?? 🤔 Regardless, giving credit where it is due. Danish and Ashish pretty much sang the qawwali (and very well at that). But I couldn't even hear Sawai. However, he ended the performance with a bang, and another shoutout to Ajay for giving him the spotlight! Still on the fence about whether I like Sawai's alaaps, but at least he got some encouragement and confidence boost. Also, the three of them got MBD. But I thought this was a non-competitive performance. So why the MBD? If this was a competitive performance, then isn't that unfair to the rest of the contestants? What's going on Sony TV? 🤷🏻‍♀️

- Sireesha and her dad meeting Amitabh Bacchan was so cute! And on top of that, he already knew her! So happy that Sireesha is being given footage! She deserves it!! ☺️👏🏻 But then again, they could have easily shown this before or after her performance in the beginning and squeezed in a performance for Sayli. I'm scared that Sayli is going into the danger zone.

- I loved Nachiket's performance too. Perfect ending to the show! I knew he'd sing some Marathi song. Ajay-Atul's comments (like always) were very nice. I'm glad they acknowledged and appreciated his sangeet natak. I wish he would've sung another upbeat song as well though, like Sireesha and Ashish. Performance ko chaar chaand lag jaate! 👌🏼 Still, very rightfully deserved MBD!

Ending note: I think we shouldn't be too worried that the likes of Nachiket and Sireesha were in the bottom five last week. I was watching the season ten reruns online and almost every finalist was in the bottom three at one point - Ankush, Neelanjana, Nitin, and even Salman. I'm still nervous tbh, but maybe there isn't much to worried about. Fingers crossed. 🤞🤞

Arunita rocked it as always, and so did Nachiket, hayee what a sweet voice ❤️ Danish was also amazing, there was so much feeling in his voice.

Surprise element for me definitely was Sawai! He really broke all the barriers and today for the first time everyone praised him the way he deserved. Even Atul said that his range is better than Salman's...exactly what I used to say but Sawai never screamed unnecessarily!

Obviously the best part was Danish, Sawai and Ashish singing Shah Ka Rutba. What a treat!! They all deserved Mausam Badal Gaya x infinity!!!

Overall a great episode 😃

Did Sayli and Anjali perform? I was cooking dinner so might have missed theirs!

Today’s episode was quite enjoyable. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed an episode as much after the Kumar Sanu - Alka Yagnik - Udit Narayan episode.

today’s performances:

Sireesha - she deserves so much more appreciation than she gets. She sang two drastically different songs, and both extremely well. I can’t find any fault. What I like most is that she enjoys while she sings, you don’t see stress on her face. And I agree with Ajay - Atul that she’s got a playback singers voice. Now if only someone would give her a break.

Ashish: I didn’t enjoy his performance on Abhi Mujhmein kahin, for two reasons - his pronunciation and he couldn’t get me to feel the emotions behind the song. So Ashish can’t pronounce words like khushiyaan, it becomes khushiya, mujhmein becomes mujhme. I understand it’s because of his first language influence, but it ruined today’s song for me. I preferred him in Zingaat - it was his kind of a song, very peppy and upbeat.

Shanmukhapriya - For the first time I started to enjoy her performance until there came a point where she overdid her yodeling and ruined it for me. But I did enjoy it for about a minute. I think it’s good to add your own nuances to a song, but less is more. Her version of Roop Tera Mastana sounded like a completely different song. And even then that was no problem for me, but she did 2-3 variations back to back and I lost interest there. I’m disgusted at how Vishal went to her to seek ‘aashirwad’. I mean seriously, just make her the winner already! I have new found respect for Himesh, he was the only one who didn’t go mad.

Sawai - like everyone else has said, we’re seeing a new Sawai. He’s getting better with each performance. Though I did enjoy his performance today, I must say I got bored after half the performance. It just sounds like a repetition of his previous performances. But I was happy to see his confidence, and the glint in his eyes when he is praised.

Danish - This guy is beyond good! Anything he sings, just becomes amazing. He deserves every bit of appreciation coming his way and more. I’d be very happy if he won. His performance on Deva Shree Ganesha was mind blowing. I could actually feel I was in India during the Ganpati festival. His energy is phenomenal. I think he’s undoubtedly the most versatile.

Pawandeep and Arunita: From the moment they took their first aalap, Pawandeep didn’t sound like his usual self. Today I thought his song not just lacked emotion, but he didn’t sing like he normally does. Infact I thought he was pretty lackluster today. As for Arunita, she was fantastic. Again today she sang a song that’s her genre, and we all know when it’s this kind of a song she’s going to hit it out of the park. I would really like to see her paired with Danish - they’re both powerful singers, equally talented.

Nachiket - I think by now everyone knows he is my favourite. He sang beautifully, this song needed a soft soothing voice and Nachiket did full justice. Singing wise I don’t think he made any mistake, but he sang so softly, at times I couldn’t hear him over the music. And this has been a problem with him many a times.

Shah ka rutba song - I think Sawai stole the show. Even Danish was good, and I actually enjoyed Ashish’s performance in this better than his solo performance. But why did 3 singers sing this song, when there were only 3 singers that didn’t perform today?
Also, some of today’s performers are singing tomorrow but not all. Why this bias? Either all sing both days, or all sing just once a week.
I actually liked Ajay and Atul as guests, they gave some good feedback, and they seemed quite modest.

My best performer for today was Danish, followed very closely by Arunita. Worst was SMP
