Like I said clearly they saved the best for today. Loved almost all the performances. My favorites were Boogie, Hansvi, Ram and Vipul and well that's a lot 😆
I think Boogie's biggest competitor will not be any other contestant but Saumya herself lol. She is such a powerful performer that it's very hard to take eyes away from her but Boogie managed to shine despite Saumya present in the song. I honestly didn't expect such a performance on this song. Boogie's waves are to die for. There was a part where he was waving fast and then suddenly went slow was too good. I'm interested to see what they do next because Boogie's dance style is such that after a point it can get a bit repetitive so hoping for the best.
Hansvi and Anuradha were ufff absolutely brilliant! So so happy that finally because of Hansvi we will see the classical dancer side of Anuradha. They were dancing like twins. And that song mix of Jiya Jale+ Silsila was 🤌 I loved Hansvi's solo. I think she is from that gharana of Kathak where they do a lot of fast spins and hand movements so in this song it worked a lot. But I do hope that someday we will get to see Hansvi do some softer Kathak moves too like Shivanshu. It's interesting how despite being kathak dancers their styles are so different because of the gharanas probably.
Pankaj did such a fabulous choreography for Ram. As usual just like Pankaj is he let his contestant shine. The whole act was set so beautifully reliving Ram's journey without any sort of extra props but just pure emotions. I like how he controlled his b-boying and only did whatever was needed for the song instead of going extra. Because when he goes extra, he looks like a fish out of water 😆
Raktim and Vipul were so damn smooth. I was really surprised with Vipul since he didn't impress me much in the auditions but they both danced like twins today. Again no extra tricks, no stunts nothing but just pure lyrical dance. Their little moments here and there were so beautifully portrayed.
Tushar and Norbu were decent. I HATE that Tere Liye song like anything so was difficult to sit through the performance lol I liked that hint of Sushmita's animation that they added in the performance but that's about it. Tushar needs to pick better songs and he definitely deserved a better contestant. I still feel Norbu didn't deserve Top 13.
Sonali and Shivam were also good, I liked the setting and the costume change and Shivam's solo but Sonali keeps ruining her choreographies with the extra energy with which she dances unnecessarily. And also those extra latino steps that she brings in every choreography like why!!
Overall a good episode worthy of grand premiere but it would've been better if they mixed some of today's with yesterday then yesterday's episode wouldn't be that underwhelming.
I think the best thing I like about the contestants this season is that most of them are expressive and puts equal attention in expression along with the dancing and most of them are graceful and very soft with their moves. Even someone like Aniket or Ram who are supposed to be very strong as per their dance styles are very soft with their movements. I hope Anjali picks some of that in the future episodes. I used to really like her dancing in Dance Deewane but mostly because she had this great tuning with her partner Sahil. Here both Anjali and Aryan are super fast dancers so they need to balance their speed.
