Breathe in, stress out
Mansi Parekh learns Reiki to beat stress

Mansi Parekh aka Chandni of India Calling is stressed out after putting in very long hours for the shoot of the serial. To combat this stress, Mansi is now learning Reiki, a well-known Japanese technique for healing and relaxation. Mansi says, "I get exhausted after shooting long hours for India Calling. So I make it a point to devote one-and-a-half hour to Reiki every day. I am currently practising a unique meditation technique after which I will attend classes regularly from next week."
The actress got to know about Reiki through her friends. "I know a lot of people in Mumbai are practicing Reiki to deal with stress. Although I have been interested in Yoga since childhood, my initial Reiki classes instantly rejuvenated my body, mind and soul. The whole strain of shooting through the day simply vanished," she adds.
The actress is keen to learn the techniques of Reiki so that she can reach the grandmaster level. "I want to reach the grandmaster level but I don't think that I will have the time to teach people as I am quite busy with India Calling," says Mansi.
The actress is also happy with the nominal charges she is paying to learn Reiki. "I think that the fee I paid to learn Reiki is like a gurudakshina. They take a lot of effort to teach us and I am really quite happy with it," she says.
Mansi also seems to have inspired a lot of people to learn Reiki. "Suddenly my friends and co-stars are also interested to know more about this practice," she says.
Meanwhile, the actress has been getting some interesting offers. "Although I am quite stressed after shooting for this one show, I would love to do more shows if they have substantial roles for me. I am sure that Reiki will enable me to effectively handle stress and work harder," she says.
