Chapter 3- IMLIE AND ARYAN'S HOSPITAL VISIT
When Imlie and Aryan reached the hospital, one of Khushi's security guards was near the entrance door. He informed Khushi was in room 501. They rushed to the room and saw Khushi tightly hugged and being kissed on forehead by Keshav. Imlie was too lost still to react but Aryan wasn't sure if they entered at the right time. In all this distress, Imlie had barged in the room without knocking followed by Aryan.
Seeing them there Keshav gave way to Imlie. He knew how much she loved and was worried about Khushi.
"I will kill you Khushi if you do this to me ever again. Where were you and why were you not picking the call?" Imlie was mad but happy to see Khushi fine.
"Sorry dear. I was about to return your call when I saw this accident in front of my eyes. A car just hit this mid aged woman and the driver escaped. My phone fell when I ran towards her and I didn't realize it and how worried you all may be until I saw Keshav here with the police. I am sorry I didn't mean to bother you guys at all. I was myself in shock, took help from another driver to get her to hospital and then completed the hospital formalities for her. You know how it is right but I am extremely extremely sorry". Khushi then realized Aryan standing next to Imlie.
" Hi Aryan, I am sorry to you too. You had to come all the way here like this. Keshav has told me how tight are your schedules and how you squeezed time for us that day for the temple"
"Don't say that please. We aren't going to leave you alone in this at all" Aryan was surprised how he remembered and spoke Imlie's exact words.
Imlie was busy looking at Khushi's scratches and talking to the nurse about if she needed any medication too. Imlie always worried more than required for her loved ones.
They let Khushi freshen up and waited outside the room as she would take around half an hour . Imlie was looking down, kind of hiding her face when she realized a person was standing next to her. Aryan held a glass of coffee in his hand and offered it to her without realizing she was crying. A tear from eyes dropped on his hands. Imlie looked up and said sorry to Aryan, also thanking him for the coffee. She wiped her tears and kept the coffee on the table next to her. Aryan could feel how emotional Imlie is still from the events of today. The victim's family was identified and had reached before they left the hospital.
They all went back to Keshav's apartment in Aryan's car as Keshav had come to the hospital in the police car. His own car was parked outside the police station. The drive back was easier knowing Khushi was safe. Aryan and Imlie sat in the front with Keshav and Khushi at the back. Men are sometimes good at hiding emotions but Keshav too was shaken at the news of the accident today. They were side hugging each other and thanking God a million times that they are together and fine. Aryan drove quietly while Imlie was looking outside the window most of the time kind of lost in her thoughts.
They reached Keshav's apartment. Keshav didn't want to be without his wife for a moment today, they just wanted to be with each other for sometime. Aryan and Imlie understood they should leave their friends alone for some personal time.
" Aryan and I will go get some fresh air and will get your painkillers. I saw your scratch girl and it looks painful" Imlie was relieved to see her friend smiling at her.
" Let's go, Aryan?"
" Yes, let's go!" Aryan instantly understood what Imlie was thinking. They almost thought about it at the same time.
Aryan asked Imlie if she wanted to go to a place that may make her feel better and relaxed. He had a place in mind. Imlie nodded.
After 20 mins they reached a place which was one of the most beautiful sights she ever saw in Delhi. It was quiet, serene and the breeze was soothing.
"Walk?" Aryan checked to which Imlie replied "Yes''
They started walking. Imlie took some deep breaths and said" I have no idea what I would have done if the situation was otherwise Aryan. She is so dear to me. I can't imagine a life without her"
Aryan and Imlie looked at each other. "Thank god she is fine" Aryan said, looking at her. It was the first time Imlie actually noticed Aryan from so close. All before she was so distressed. He was a very handsome man who looked in his mid 20s, muscular body, perfect features, sexy voice and eyes so deep and romantic. She didn't realize she was looking in his eyes for a good 30 secs while thinking this. She suddenly realized and didn't want any awkwardness.
" I am sorry Aryan. I know we are meeting for the first time today and we couldn't introduce ourselves properly. Well still not too late. I am Imlie"
" I am Aryan" they both laughed at this formal introduction.
" So how long you have been in Delhi Imlie?"
" Little over 3 years. I am originally from Pagdandiya. It is a small village in UP. I am here for my studies and am studying Journalism at St Zavier's. How about you?"
" I was born and brought up in Delhi. I work at a newspaper firm" Aryan being CEO of the company also called him an employee of the company Bhaskar times. He didn't talk about his other businesses at all. Newspapers and Journalism could be a common thing and topics they can talk about, he thought.
"Wow, I will be starting my internship in Journalism too very soon" The shine in her eyes made Aryan understand that this was indeed something thing that made her very happy- journalism and her career. She looked down to earth but she wanted to touch the sky. She was no ordinary girl, she was ambitious, she had a spark in her. Aryan was always good at reading people.
Before he could say the name or any details of the company he works at, Imlie saw a shooting star. She jumped with joy. Aryan was amazed to see how a shooting star can make her so happy. Imlie closed her eyes to make a wish while Aryan kept looking at Imlie. She was so simple, her eyes were so deep, she had the most beautiful smile and the nosepin shined bright in the moonlight adding to her beauty. She was just so raw and pure.
During the rest of the walk Imlie was talking non stop about how she came to Delhi, how she and Khushi met and all about her college. Aryan was a good listener and enjoyed listening to this excited Imlie. How he hoped not to see the Imlie in panic again as it did hurt him deeply somewhere to see her like that. He wanted Imlie to be excited and this non-stop always.
Imlie was so busy in her talks that she didn't realize that Aryan's security was also there far enough to be seen but close enough to action almost immediately. He was for a change enjoying the feeling of not being called SIR, light talks with a friend, cool breeze and full of life Imlie.
Aryan got a call from Keshav. " Hey Aryan. Khushi just dozed off sometime back and I don't feel like waking her up. Let her be here only tonight at my place. Is Imlie with you? Can you please tell your staff or driver to drop her here or hostel wherever she wants. It's very late for her and she had a long day too"
" Yes, we are together. Don't worry, I will arrange it" Aryan loved the feeling of saying them together. He doesn't know why but he loved what he heard himself saying.
Imlie wanted to let the couple have some time alone after the trauma and told Aryan she can go back to hostel by a taxi. He could tell his staff also to drop Imlie as it was almost morning and it would take him another hour to reach back home. Almost time for him to leave for the office again. He has a long day planned ahead for him. But he just wanted to drop her and he did. They waved goodbye and Imlie thanked him for everything. She being the bubbly girl she is told Aryan she owed Aryan a coffee anytime he wants. She always made friends easily but Aryan had spent so much time with someone other than his family after ages or probably for the first time.
“Long night indeed” Imlie said as she got off from the car.
“All's well that ends well” both said almost at the same time.
Both smiled and left for their respective places.
