This is such an interesting AU plot. A very fascinating read. If you could, I would love to be tagged for future chapters. Looking forward to reading chapter 2 and beyond.

Noredink, thank you for reading and taking a moment to comment. I will do my best to remember but it's hard to remember to tag 40 odd people! Please do me a favor go to my story index. I am linking it below. Click on the grey eye icon at the top, I believe everytime that link is updated, you get a notification. In case, I do forget to tag you.
Thanks so much. Did what you suggested. Hopefully, it works.

I hope it does too!! I hope you like Imlie's introduction next week 🤗
An essay for an essay. 😆
: My favourite kind tbh 😆
Yes, creating new characters is indeed tricky, like you rightly pointed out, you want people to connect to them after all. Positively or negatively. Natalie is peripheral just like the Tripathis. But Dadi is front and center. Let’s see how she walks this walk with Aryan.
: Oh I see. I was hoping for that but was wondering if you just might bring Natalie out later. No guesses for the question why I didn't like her, the fact that she made Aryan a little bitter doesn't sit right with me. She might have her reasons but going by this chapter, I am glad she is a peripheral character. Oh Dadi. I have mixed feelings regarding her and I can see that Aryan is fond of her, I also understand that she is from an earlier generation so her expectations might not be reasonable. But the way she kind of cornered Aryan didn't sit right with me, I really do not like emotionally manipulative family members which again might just be a personal bias. Looking forward to how you make us connect to her later on.
😳😳 You caught on, Aryan is not Michi michi at all in this AU. He knows what he wants and goes after it. He is cooler and less communicative which is natural given his bitterness from his relationship with Natalie. I hope to talk a little more about that as the story progresses to see why he became the way he is. I think it’s not a stretch of imagination for people to see and accept a dominant Aryan.
: He does seem cooler for sure. And I understand why he is the way he is after his relationship with Natalie, I can understand his actions as of now but two of the reasons why I like the cannon Aryan and FC Aryan so much are because of there transparent communication skills and lack of bitterness despite everything. So looking forward to how you shape his character here and how rootable he is as a character, it's going to be a tough job since you took away two of his best attributes but I am sure you are going to add many more and you are going to do full justice with your skills of writing. Dominant Aryan is someone I am waiting with bated breath to see. Oh the human tendency to always getting attracted to the darker shades of men 🤧🤷♀️
Comments on Imlie once the next chapter is released.
: Waiting for Imlie Mishra
The other tricky part,I have realized, is making sure that the new people have a logical place in the story and add something to the overall element. I have a feeling though that this one will be much, much more centered on Aryan and Imlie. Haven’t decided what Cheeni is going to do in this story. You must have realized by now, I love writing kids.
: I am all for Imlie and Aryan but as I said previously you always fit other characters right where they belong so don't worry on that part, it will come naturally to you as you write on. Cheeni is such a sweet name, might I ask you if it was a random name or you decided it for a reason ? I am pretty sure that she is going to add a lot of sweetness to the story and especially to Arpita's life if you decide to write about her. You could also explore the step-mother dynamics if you will, that is one dynamic I would love to read from you.
Bold : And we love reading about them. Kids have so much potential no ?
One of my hopes too is to hear people’s thoughts, views on infertility, the idea of adoption, surrogacy.: I will actually keep an eye on this thread to read the same. These ideas do intrigue me so.
Things that are non traditional and still viewed with a degree of distrust. I love SundariP ‘s question above for that reason. A story is worth writing if it provokes the reader to think about a deeper issue. In full circle it is about the reality of death and our shyness to confront that possibility. What are the chances that you will develop diabetes? Maybe 10-90% based on lifestyle, genetics etc. Now what are the chances that you will die one day. 100%. No question about it, you started dying the minute you were born. You essentially are constantly changing bodies since the minute you were conceived. What I looked like when I was born is not how I look like today. The cells that I was born with retain the dna but not their physical form, no they are constantly dying and being replaced. It is those kinds of thoughts I wish to provoke in readers. Pondering the miracle that is life and learning to lose their fear of death. The compliments are an added bonus that reaffirm their interest and spur me to continue.
There is constant debate too about human interference in the process of conception and birth. Many ways to look at it. People use religion to point out that this interference is dangerous, unnatural, not what God intended. Well, why not talk about those things?
: I think I read somewhere in the forum before but wasn't really sure, are you a medical student or a doctor M ? I mean the way you write and ponder about human life & death just makes me think that either you have to be highly philosophical or be surrounded by life & death in general, to give so much thoughts to these particular topics. There's an insight in your style of writing through which you bring these particular topics to the forefront. Anyway, as I said before yes, you made me sit on that day when I read Full Circle and even today, I sat down to sit and just think before I framed this reply. You know the interesting thing here is that surrogacy, adoption and the likes of other childrearing forms rather than conceiving naturally are not new concepts. In fact, they have been so abundant in Indian Mythology and our religion but yet, we view them with an air of distrust. If we read about Krishna, we know that Devaki might have given birth to him but Yashoda raised him up, essentially adopted him for all purposes. Even Krishna's brother Balram was a child borne of surrogacy, he was planted in Yashoda's sister in law's womb but was the child of Devaki and her husband. In Mahabharata, Kunti gave birth to Karna first who was a sage's blessing without any intercourse, surrogacy in a way and the second time as well, it's been mentioned vaguely that Pandu was unable to produce heir so it wasn't a natural birth which led to Arjun, Yudhisthir and Bheema. Same is the case with Draupadi, she was supposed to be a baby born out of fire. Hardly something we can natural birth. My point being that throughout history and mythology, we have read and known different accounts of birth. We treat Gita with so much reverence and so are any accounts of Mahabharata, Ramayana treated as such. Yet, nowadays if people have the option to resort to such methods for a baby, it is treated as alien and something so unknown. I think over the period of time, we have learned to gatekeep religion and history to such an extent that we make use of the part that fits our narrative and discard the rest. And it is the case with every religion, we interpret and misinterpret the holy texts and teachings to our likings / our convenience and hence these chaos within the world. Religion has been made to become a reason to destruct rather than a place of faith and it's just sad. Because from what I have read and known, of all the different religions is that each God says is to live in love and peace. As long as people are happy and doing good deeds, why would God care if people are gay, having pre marital sex, being a surrogate or are even atheists? I think I rambled long enough on this thread but your statement about people thinking surrogacy as unnatural just brought these thoughts out. I understand that everyone might have their own perspective and our each perspective is conditioned from the circumstances and the place we grew up in so its completely natural to have a different viewpoint. But love the initiative you have taken M, to make people deliberate on these things and unlearn the biases we associate with such things if possible. It's never too late to unlearn and re-educate ourselves if we are wrong.
I am just as excited about this new SS, because it is a new world, not reflective of the show at all. I am constantly tempted to write more, but FC first. Likely, update FC this weekend. The next one has my heart ….I may have cried a little writing it. 😢: Of course, the concept you have chosen is definitely interesting and makes me excited as well. Oh god, I can feel that we are going to see Neel getting heartbroken for some reason, have to prepare myself for the emotional destruction I might heave on myself. Your writing will definitely make me bawl especially when you yourself shed tears.
Replied in Bold and Italics.
Totally looking forward to reading about Imlie Mishra’s introduction in the story. Aryan already has cheeni in his life for sweetness. Now waiting for Imlie to add some tanginess!
