I think somewhere the focus was shifted from the original intent of your post but the conversation that developed afterwards was introspective to different views. I appreciate critical thought regarding this topic more than flippant commentary and half-formulated hypotheticals. I also find the placement of self within the analysis unhelpful in an objective conversation.. so all those posts which kept to the topic - I appreciate your views

Lovely conversation starter, Neelu 😳

Oh dear, I’m wading into the water here 😆

Aru's fans have to give character certificates too, who knew?

Chaado - reading comprehension should be good enough 🤣

Ps: forget nadhi .. thinking further about the unnecessary will submerge us into the samundar.

Let’s just say that characters are layered personalities and that life’s trajectory can be viewed as a series of actions-reactions propelled by our emotion, views, beliefs etc.

The value of relationships can manifest & be shaped from the truly blurred symbiosis of nature-vs-nuture or the individuals’ inherit yin-yang.

Malini and Imlie are the cookie crumbs that resulted from the fractured upbringing they received. Their internalization of how to deal will forever be ambiguous but we desire the need to rationalize. To have an answer. To be able to understand.

Human nature is made to to err and strive. To ignore the constancy of change is a problem. No one is trying to justify the dark turns, the selfish ones, or even the commendable actions… I thought your post was a thought to shine a light and present a mirror on the folly of it all. It’s Shakespearean… Hamlet in nature. In Imlie, most people fall on their own swords for reasons solely of their own, within context of their own experience

That completely unjustified compliment/ justified shade aside, I think ITV, despite its terrible content, does present a good exercise into worldbuilding and character sketching if nothing else. It's quite obvious that many of these writing changes don't have much artistic motivations, but to make sense of these weird changes presents a good chance at building these skills.

Same way fanfiction is denigrated as based literature, but it's actually a brilliant exercise in character analysis and counterfactual writing.

That aside, the only good thing about Gul's romances sans Ishqbaaz is how layered the characters are despite the abysmal episodic writing.

Take the compliment 😆😘

absolutely agree - it’s why iTV is entertaining for me. The audience/spectator/viewer are given the opportunity to unravel and rebuild these characters. There’s a certain satisfaction in destruction and rebirth 🔱

Thanks Pooja for the tag!

Blue, the analysis is nicely done. It helped me in getting a glimpse into the psyche of the character. And now I interested in her future actions. I am not sold on the actor's skill to reel me in. But the character arc is quite interesting. Malini's dialogues at the registrar's office yesterday made sense to me. (As per her character ) (Bold..cuz..ehm..reading comprehension 😏) She has stooped low (her words) and yet, her "prize" isn't still hers. Adi may be over Imlie, but he still isn't Malini's..his second time wife.

She enjoyed attention and affection in the T household much before Imlie's entry. After Imlie's entry, she has had to put up with Adi's drifting attention as well as the truth of her dad. So, betrayal in all senses. Add to it, her mum's manipulations. For Anu, it was a battleground of sorts..first it was Meethi who threatened to uproot her world, and now it was if history is repeating but with her daughter.

If a fictional character (any show) has the grace and maturity to pull herself out of a loveless marriage, I don't see why this fictional character HAS to follow the same path. This is Malini's arc.

What must have been insulting for her was being strung along for a good amount of time..I mean she wasn't "just" a friend /fiance, she was married to the guy. And then he fell out of love with her. (Did her ever love Malini?) . The T family was clearly om Malini's side initially, right? She must have been hopeful of a bright future ahead..When did the T household do a 360 on Malini? They speak of her as she is a stranger.

Betraying Aditya ..that is on her. Noone is sympathizing with her on that. But after Adi "declared" marriage, she is still at the doorstep. Noone is willing to even listen to her. How convenient that they can shut her up ..but can't say anything to Adi right? So i find no fault in her wanting to score brownie points with the Ts by purchasing their house. And what she is saying is true. There is a proper legal rishta with her and yet she is being overlooked by both husband and inlaws. Even her dad isn't with her ..even if to knock senss into her.

She needs to be prosecuted for her crimes... legally.

but just because she did that crime, does not mean her sufferings can be discounted.

A person is balance of karmas.... and time aspect is also important;

your past bad deeds can be redeemed by future actions that's the whole action-consequences cycle and justice system.

but can it go reverse? like present crimes wiping off past good deeds?

or we can redeem crimes only after they are committed and the past credits count for nothing??

(i hope this makes sense to the reader 😳)
