Shiv was the 2nd lead guy on a old show called Balika Vadhu.
Premise was similar, as he was introduced as the 2nd lead for the heroine, and was accepted after the hero turned grey and really tacky. His character was a strong one, but he was more white. But was well received by the audience that time.
