Leaving a show because a character is butchered is very wise, not unprofessional. An actor does not just stand there and recite someone's lines unless they have a very bad director who discourages any input or feel from the actors. Actors make their character, live and breathe it, mould it. They become that character in front of the cameras. If they feel that character is being made to deviate from its story and making them look shabby in the process then what can they do but leave in order not to reduce and insult their acting ability? They have to take a stand and make a statement even if it hurts them to do so.

The only thing I don't like is if they leave because they want to do other things as well at the same time, which splits their attention and brings everything down. I don't know about Indian TV but in the UK actors sign a contract to work on a particular programme for a certain length of time and they are held to being faithful to it. I have seen loads of actors leaving Indian shows as they seem to have no allegiance to it, just go for something more interesting or more money, which seriously breaks the continuity of the story for both viewers and the fellow actors. This does not happen in the UK much nor I suspect in other countries. Investment in what you are doing is very important.

But if they feel they or their character are not being treated well or fairly, one cannot blame them for leaving even if it spoils that show for us viewers.

Adi and Imlie made a superb emotional Jodi. Aryan is not a patch on Adi and far too controlling and aggressive both in speech and actions. Even Imlie/Sumbul looks very uncomfortable around him. I am sure the actor is nice, but his character is dreadful and is ruining what was lovely and unusual romantic story and it appears to be entirely due to the maker's folly.😒

Excuse me, did you just insinuate that Sumbul, the real human being gets uncomfortable around Aryan/FK? How is this even allowed on this platform?

We don’t bash anyone except the gate crashes been bashing us and always wanted to have final say even though they are wrong . Also over reacting for fiction show . 🤦🏻‍♀️ Imlie still have long journey to go , don’t be over confident of recent TRP result .

What have the makers done? They run a business venture and not charity, they will do whatever gets them money, and you can't deny the fact that after Aryan's entry the show gained many new audience, like me, I would have never watched imlie for Aditya and Imlie, bcoz I don't like not-so-hero-like heroes and my eyes can't see any chemistry between them....So I don't think blaming the makers for butchering a character is fair enough, bcoz they run the show for business! So if Arylie is getting them money now, then what's wrong in it??

And what is forcing the actor to leave the show? An actor is suppose to act just as it is written in the script and that's his job, if he doesn't like his character plot then he can resolve the issue by getting in touch with the authorities...but if he leaves bcoz his character is butchered, then he is hella unprofessional.

And for chemistry, I can only say that before Aryan and Imlie walked in, I didn't even know that the show belongs to the producer who is known for giving iconic itv jodis who simply talk walk and feel chemistry..

Did you start watching the show recently after aryan’s entry … wow … I’m glad Imlie gained viewership after Aryan entry … and sorry that they lost few old loyal ones .. if you get a chance do watch episode from 90 -130 the markers also believe they were pure gold in history of ITV … such was their impact that even in a movie like Atrangi we could just see the Imlie leads had out performed similar scenes 😍. This implies purely if you love performance and execution … the holistic art of cinema … not just one aspect …
