Okay, these are my thoughts on Adi's behavior these days after him watching the video. I've gathered them after reading some of your views and much thought.

He also said "jhoot pe jhoot, jhoot pe jhoot bolti rahi, sirf tum sach lekiye ladrahi thi" and said to Imlie that he didn't give her his saath, and if he had believed her at the beginning itself, things wouldn't have come this far. He said he's ashamed

Now, considering Adi's character, when he feels ashamed of his behavior, he will not rest until he fixes things ruined by him. He was shattered after watching the video, he instantly believed everything Imlie said from day 1. And he confessed the same in front of the whole family that only Imlie was right from day one. Note that he did not only believe the claim that M drugged him and wore Imlie's saree but also everything that Imlie kept saying from the day he brought M home. Now he is ready to get Malini punished.

When Imlie told him that he can't lose this fight, he said "what is the use of winning it when I lost so much?" He didn't care about winning/losing the case. But Imlie wanted Malini to get punished, so he agreed. But after Malini said she's pregnant, he still argued with AC that he's watched the recording of whatever happened that night. But AC said she drugged Malini too. Did he buy it? How could he when Imlie is clear that Malini wasn't drugged based on the video? He sure is smarter than Imlie in discerning such circumstances. So we're still not sure.

Going by his own words, now we know that Adi knows Malini was wrong from day 1. He now knows for sure that Malini loves him. So it makes sense that he didn't question Malini about the previous incidents.

Now Adi's goal should be to get rid of that woman and throw her away from Imlie especially but in came the pregnancy. That put brakes on his decision to punish her. One thing to be noted is that he never argued after watching the video that it was AC, not MC that drugged them. He said he couldn't send her to jail. If he believed that AC did it, he would've said that MC is not the culprit. But he didn't. He only said AC is admitting to the crime and she can do anything to spoil our life(more like she's not going to let us win this case & a baby is involved here). So he only said that he did it for the kid. And he never spoke to Malini after that. It was only during Imlie's kidnap and her cravings day that he responded to her.

Coming back to the pregnancy claim. Did Adi buy it? There could be two things,

1. He did believe that Malini is pregnant(but we don't know if he thinks it was consensual or rape) and took full responsibility for the upcoming child.

2. He's doubtful about the claim but gave her the benefit of doubt and took responsibility for the baby.

Either way, he knows that he has to kick her out of their lives but the baby/the possibility is stopping him.

Adi was never about material things. He always wanted to give Imlie all that is her's and all that she deserves. This was shown during her birthday and also during her exam result day. He gave her no material gift but only the things she deserved. He was on this mission since truth revelation and he should continue to do the same now. So, his focus shifted to doing whatever he should for the baby and getting rid of Malini so that he can give Imlie all that she deserves.

But why is he entertaining Malini when he knows her intentions? He could've easily understood that she is involved in the kidnap and that she was misleading him about Imlie coming back from college. Why is he sitting at the dining table with her? The only explanation for this is that he probably understood the mental state of Malini and knows that she could harm the baby if she doesn't get what she wants. This is a serious concern for Adi. So, he had to entertain her, and hence the long drive. Also, he knew that Imlie can take care of herself. So, he wasn't concerned as much. But even then he wanted to know if she returned but he noticed Malini stopping him. He could've asked her to wait a minute but the way she stopped him was by acting as if she choked on something. Again, he probably knows her mental state and couldn't risk the baby here, so he didn't make the call. Even when Imlie returned, he asked her about the debate. This felt very fake to me. Why would he care about anything when his wife was almost kidnapped again? Again, the only way to make sense of this is that Malini was right there listening to their conversation. Any question asked by Adi would immediately expose Malini. He was not ready to do that hence the question of the debate. Also, he never took Imlie out on a date earlier except the chai date where he gifted her the sketch which was incidental. Though he always wanted to spend time with Imlie, he never asked her to go out with him on a date. This time, he did and also stressed that he wants no other person with them. He also told her the next day that he wants to talk to her about something and that's the reason this date was so important to him. He didn't say him wanting to spend time with her was the reason.

Even before that, why didn't he do anything about her college? Or did he? Did he ask KC to send a notice? How would KC know otherwise that Imlie is suspended? Imlie could've told him. But why did he not react much, not even get up from the table? He probably knew Malini was the reason for Imlie's suspension by then and didn't want to provoke her into doing something more dangerous to Imlie.

And today about the puja, he could've easily rejected AC's request and told Malini that he's sorry and is not interested in the puja as she already knows he's not into these rituals. But he stayed silent and looked at Imlie just like he did the other day letting her decide if Malini will stay here or not. Both times, he knows what Imlie's answer is going to be and that's the reason he let her decide.

In today's car scene, Adi was observing Malini while NN pushed her back. The guy who rarely looks at M was staring at her. And he was doing the same after she got it and then asked her about the reports. Why did he care to ask her who called? And he had a weird expression after that.

I know we can't trust his expressions but this is after he watched the video. Even before that, I'd say that his expressions were justified when he told Imlie that he trusted M more than himself. So, his doubts were real but his trust in her was stronger.

If my theory is right, Adi is not going to react much tomorrow too. Because he's looking at the bigger picture right now. He cannot afford to risk it with these comparatively minor issues.

The only thing that is still bugging me is that he deleted the video without consulting Imlie. Why did he not talk to her about the issue and ask her for help? The only convincing reason I could find is that he knows how impulsive Imlie is and how she wanted that video to play in the court. He probably had no time to convince her before the court session and did not find the chance to explain to her after that, hence the desperation for the lunch date.

PS: I am in no way justifying this track. I hate this to the core. I'm just trying to make sense of AKT. No other character has been butchered in the show. Everyone is the same to me. Even the Ts, were all lovey-dovey with Imlie but were ever ready to sacrifice her at the alter of Malini just because she was their naukrani. AC, DC & MC are the same. Meethi was always a doormat to those who abused her. Be it Nani or AC. She never cared unless it is about her daughter. So, SK and Meethi too are the same. So why will only AKT's character be ruined?

The essential problem circles back to loose writing. I can’t tell if this is deliberate on the makers’ part to keep us viewers hanging on to the storyline, eager to find out how this track will end, but it is killing our patience and the beautiful vibe of adilie.

Also, I’m a little confused on how the way they are shaping MC’s character is doing any favors for her growth. Adilie will come out of this strong, one way or another, but the writers at this point have made her a woman who raped a man, bore a child out of it, and still has no attachment to anyone except her own self. This is the pits. What exactly are they trying to do with her? 😕 Can we assume this whole track is leading up to either an ultimate exit for Malini from the show or an attempt at redemption that literally is not possible for her now?

Absolutely agree with you. I never expected Malini to make that turn to the pits of hell to think of scheming in this manner.

Yes, she has her flaws but never did I expect her to turn into a vamp with the utmost evil intentions.
Either this is closure of the show with her death OR her exit from the show. There is no KC angle that will be brought to redeem her journey any further. Of course, this is ITV and anything can happen. In our show, much more so, they can make a donkey a lion and a lion a donkey.

I have not watched the origianal Bengali version of this serial or any of the other regional versions and I am not sure how true to those versions this serial has stuck. I also recently learned that this serial was made in Hindi itself as well, but was shut down due to poor response!

I think in a bid to keep all the 3 main leads relevant somehow, the writers have basically lost the plotline and are now trying to do damage control in whatever way they can, which probably explains these extremely random, disjointed scenes.

Imlie still needed to be the central theme, since she is the titular character and they are hence writing these pretty outrageous scenes for her, like the kidnapping, saving AKT from death singlehandedly, being the epitome of patience etc.

Malini, her character could have gone on 2 different arcs - #1. She moves on, finds love and lives her life away from Adilie #2. The current track, where in she turns into a complete vamp. If they had chosen #1, Malini would have been reduced to a side character, that will not have had much relevance to the story of Adi and Imlie. Where is the scope for drama and excitement if Adi and Imlie had just got acceptance and gone on to live the normal shadi-shuda zindagi that AKT wants? What is the fun in Adi just easily getting his coveted prize and everyone just moves on... there won't be any story left! I think the writers did not know how to handle this and instead decided this very extreme change to Malini's character, of turning her from this extremely sweet cultured pretty naieve woman who wanted her little sister to have everything she deserved, to this scheming, cunning and very manipulative character who sunk to extreme depths of depravity there can ever be! This was the only way to keep her relevant to Adi-Imlie. There wasn't even a gradual change.... her arc just turned very suddenly! I think if this is what the writers wanted to do, they could have at least handled in a slightly more muted fashion, instead of bringing in pretty sensitive issues like rape/consent/victim shaming etc., and making an absolute mockery of it.

Now coming to Aditya, they again botched the character development pretty badly. With that little stunt they pulled of GM quitting the show, they knew that Adi was indispensible, and in a bid again, to keep the story moving somehow or the other, while also keeping Malini relevant, they basically wrote this weird arc for Adi's character. The main point of Adi-Imlie relationship is that thing called "bharosa" and he now has/had the bharosa on Malini instead of Imlie. But then this would end up making Adi-Imlie irrelevant, and hence this declaration every now and then that "Imlie hamari patni hai, hum Imlie se hi pyaar karte hain" lest they or the audience forgets it!

Now, they know that the sublte romance and the Adilie angst is basically the USP of the show. And that it basically what the audience wants. Since there is really no way to show that now, with all the supposed plot developments, they are showing in their own little way like Aditya trying to manao Imlie, wanting to take her out on a date, wanting to watch her smile etc. At this point, they really can't sent Imlie off to Pag Dandia or have her live her own life, because that would then make Adi and Malini redundant to the show. So basically, the writers themselves seem quite lost on how they want to take this and seem to be taking it one day at a time, just like we audience are!

If all this is setting the stage for some big reveal, that would be an ultimate treat, but I doubt it.

My only hope is they don't go the usual route of something nonsensical like this, just to keep Malini employed in this serial, that she has the baby, but is completely unattached to it. But Imlie does a splendid job of raising the child while staying in the house, but in her kona, and Adi just admiring her from the sidelines of what a wonderful and selfless patni she is, raising his child. While Malini is now also scheming and plotting for ways to drive her away from the kid also now, in addition to Aditya! And then according to the writers, Imlie is still nibhaoing her rishta of raising babusaheb's baby and Adi not really accepting his child's mom as his wife, and their love is eternal. (It might now be clear that I am at that age demorgraphic where I have watched my fair share of crappy Bollywood 90s movies!!!)

O no jp Ji, I cannot tell you how much this has been bugging me since they started turning her into a complete vamp. Just reread your post for my thoughts🤣 I keep getting this feeling that the show is all about Malini, her insecurity, delusions, and next is her redemption? Can they not find a way to move forward without her? Do we get to see Imlie's own journey or is it done? 😔

Completely agree with you Apsji.

Here AKT is one of the most complex characters in television. He is not the regular heroes; he has a lot of layers and to potray him one has to keep deep diving into the entire journey or sometimes we may miss the way he is. Most of his emotions are hidden and only seen by those whom he wishes to show and which always has been Imlie with whom unknowingly and knowingly his soul connected.

that is the reason we are here because AKT and Imlie are able to invoke those emotions out of us. Right now it is Malini who has to accept the fate and she will try all things possible to get the status quo of 7 years as she does not know anything beyond this. She is not able to think.

Or else a professor with years of experience in teaching connecting to students should have been able to identify and relate to the situation. So even though superficially she tried when it came to actual acceptance she is unable to do so.

It is true in real world as well; its very easy to say but to actually take action does require sacrifice and most of us may say a token yes but to continue to remain stuck to our decision is always difficult.

Hopefully the cringe is due to the way actor is potraying or else this arc, angst or even the inner conflict in her character could have been brought out more beautifully

Lets see what else makers have in store for us till Malini accepts fate somewhere around 300 to 330 episodes.
