Emraan Hashmi reacts to his viral cameo that broke the internet in Aryan Khan’s The Ba***ds of Bollywood

Emraan Hashmi has finally broken his silence on the viral cameo he made in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba**ds of Bollywood*. The actor, who is now preparing for the release of his next film Haq with Yami Gautam, admitted that he didn’t expect his short appearance to create such a wave online.

In the series, Raghav Juyal plays a diehard Emraan Hashmi fan who passionately sings Kaho Na Kaho from Emraan’s 2004 film Murder. The scene instantly caught social media’s attention, with viewers calling it a nostalgic nod to the actor’s early career and signature romantic charm.

During a recent Haq press conference, Emraan recalled his conversation with Aryan Khan and the Red Chillies Entertainment team about that very scene. “Kuch din pehle hi yeh conversation meri hui Aryan [Khan] aur Red Chillies team ke saath. Humein pata tha viral hoga, lekin is tarah se viral hoga, woh kabhi socha nahi tha. I think it’s a lesson to be learnt,” he said with a laugh.

Emraan also joked about how his famous “serial kisser” tag continues to trail him, though now in a lighter way. “I think iske pehle fans jo hain, woh naam leke pukarte the, ya phir… ek doosra image tha, ‘S’ se shuru hota hai. Main naam nahi loonga, nahi toh raat bhar yahi chalta rahega,” he quipped, before adding, “Abhi woh dialogue ka zikr hota hai – so no complaints.”

He said he’s glad that fans today are celebrating his dialogues and performances instead of focusing only on that long-standing image. For Emraan, seeing his old work being revisited with humour and fondness feels like a sign of time coming full circle.

His next release: Haq

Emraan will next be seen in Haq, a courtroom drama inspired by the Shah Bano case, where he stars alongside Yami Gautam. The film’s teaser has already sparked discussion for its socially charged theme. Haq is set to release in theatres on November 7.
