Why can't they accept that all characters are flowed and so the show is interesting enough to enjoy but nahi ..if you have that much problems with contents and some of the characters then leave it and let other who enjoys it..

Some people watch it only to criticize, tho vo log great hai. We cant help.

Didi kuch bhi kare justified hai.. Adi, imlie ko chodo they blame Meethi. Aur ye Anu ka ghar Meethi ne kaise kharab Kiya... Jisko khud ko khud ghar sambhalna nahi aata dusro ko blame karna hai.🙄 Inki moral policing is limted towards Adilie.. Dev ko toh clean chit hai

Dev did was actually cheating because he didn't tell her about his marital status to Mithi but it's not his fault👏

Moral policing too depends on characters of their favorite and not liked one👏

Very well said Aps ji👏

The reason why I got hooked to an ITV drama after 10 years is the beautiful amalgamation of choices the characters make amid situations with no control, their consequences, how each one deals with those and evolves during the process and also impact of the society as well as on the society of all these, inside and outside the show.

So to be honest I always hoped it creates well placed debates about what is right or wrong thing to do; the show provides very contemporary stage for the age old issue of human coupling, who should be together and who should not, what should be the criteria for two humans to be together.

I completely agree with what you have said about how flawed the three central characters are (which is really new for ITV leads) and how Aadilie stand out by their willingness to accept and improve with what life threw at them while Malini only degraded and managed to play either entitled or victim with absolutely no ownership of or any learning from what life threw at her.

Coming to Why I root for Aadilie and against AM is the basic compatibility of personalities. The whole journey of Aadilie has beautifully portrayed how they bring best in each other and IMO any relation for that matter not just pati-patni should exist (and would stand the test of time) only if it makes both parties better in some or the other way. The personality that Malini has gathered over her lifetime so far would only have to keep adjusting to stay with Adi (which she did for 7 years by moulding her into what she thought Aadi would like) and no one should have a lifetime of adjustments to say the least.

I ask a simple question to get clarity, if I had a friend/sister who is as delusional and denying as M would I advise her to go after Aaditya who had made it crystal clear that he doesn’t love her. Whether Aaditya is hero or villain in his life, irrespective of that if I am genuinely concerned for that friend/sister of mine the answer is NO and hence no rooting for AM from my end. My suggestion would always be stay as far away as possible from the place where you are not valued, life is not about the man in your life.

Coming to the question of adultery or cheating, leaving the fact aside that Aadilie till now hv not consummated their marriage nor have they ever denied their role or tried to escape their responsibility in the extraordinary mess they are facing.

We all who are living in 2021 and debating over who is having first right on Aaditya (without considering his opinion) What would be the intensity of our stands had all this happened minus both the marriages in the story. Had Aadi fallen in love with Imlie while being in relationship (not marriage) with M, leading to him breaking up with M clearly to get into a relationship with Imlie, would we be still accusing him of adultery or call it all modern millennial way of living. Does this not happen around us really, people falling out of relationships and moving on with new ones. Under the layer of marriage drama basically what happened is one relationship broke and another bloomed. The only issue I see is, are we really willing to look objectively or just win an argument on some online platform conveniently.

Oh Aps what a lovely read. Every story be it a book you are reading, web series which has limited episodes or a soap like Imlie, will have a very subjective outlook towards each character in the beginning. Atleast before the characters are established and sometimes even further. But the point being, as a viewer or a reader, if you stop reading and looking at the characters arc all you are left with is a tunnel vision!

When I started watching the show, AKT was the reason and at that time he was still appalling. So what made me continue- yes Gash did..but let's not go there😉. And I myself might be flawed here because after all his swag, his appearance attracted me to the show. I will not deny, I found Malini quite classy too. Imlie- an adorable firecracker!

Now that I was hooked, I did wonder how will the storyline justify any of this and how will these arcs change, I mean they had to, right?

AKT is one of the most dynamic character's I have seen -You could see all his flaws yet connect with him. Because it was real. We are all born to be real, not to be perfect. He was unique yet familiar! You have said it all as have others..so will not go into too much of an analysis here..but will leave it at his mistakes were more like growth spurts for him as and when he started realizing them!

Malini- like Imlie explained was fairy like. Now that encompassed her physical and indeterminate appearance, Since the very beginning only after a few so many episodes one could see how weak and judgmental she was. There was always a certain pretension under her holy and happy stance. Her always agreeing to AKT whether right or wrong just showed how delusional and a walking contradiction she was. She has always been an emotional wreck, it is just that the makers made it loud and clear now. So yes she is flawed too. Initially I did have that bit of sympathy for her, but that went poof with the constant flip flop of her actions and behavior. Flaws ek taraf, imbecile behavior ek taraf. And her actions would have made sense if there was certain flow in they way she was thinking...but makers just messed that entire character up. Like I have said yesterday, this looks forced...and there should have been a method to this madness but kaun itna creative hoga..TRP aa raha hai aane do!

Coming to Imlie- again, she lives her life by only one motto- never hurt anyone intentionally and if you do unintentionally then aim to make it right. In that process, Imlie has forgotten that you have but one life, it is ok to live it for yourself. Like AKT says, she does what she thinks is right, but it may not be the right always. Imlie stalled the truth multiple times, because she knew the havoc it may create. Was she wrong- maybe but that timing would have never solved this problem based on the timing of its reveal! If anything at all, she would have backed off if only Malini had not lied in the first place. Here was a simple 19 year old, trying to make it right for others for the wrong she has not done. . And here just one comparison between Malini and Imlie comes to my mind- Strength isn't about how much you can handle before your break, it's about how much you can endure after you've broken. Imlie never played the victim, she still does not. She is standing and dealing with it.

All I can say it at the end of it all- Own your flaws or they will own you! AKT and Imlie did by accepting the truth, still redeeming their mistake!

It is Malini's turn now.

Hello my dear... you make an appearance here too... yoo hoo... welcome to the club. I totally agree that some of the acts of Malini and her mother are downright criminal. Kidnapping, physical assault, molestation. burr

This. The flaws apart, the very fact that the show is focusing on fighting for haq, is a bit of deranged thought process. I do not agree to it...but shockingly it is getting them the TRP. We as a society have progressed a lot. Period. But ITV and the TRP makers are stuck in some age old theories. It is as simple as here are two people in love, they are freaking shouting it out everyday, but nope- majal hai kisi ko yeh baat samajh aaye! Who in today's world has the time to build a fantasy of how the relationship could have been because it was a certain way in the past?! And that is where Malini becomes flawed with her obsession. If she cannot have AKT, not caring about his will, she will not Imlie have him either? She will spend her life like her mom did, but will not shut the door to move on!

But Imliya is the hero of Imlie, Aditya is the heroine and vamp toh bohut sare hai depending on writer’s mood😆

yup Aditya bhi tha initial days mein
