My analysis of Dd's confession and why the makers showing it --- For me they are showing this track only for the difference between the two characters and their thought process ( Imlie and Malini )who are in same position ( rejected from their husband) but thinking and taking different actions. Whereas Imlie chose to go back to Pd and decided to never comeback so that Adini could live their lives happily ever after ( Aaditya couldn't tolerate the separation and pd3 happened is altogether different thing) but dd is coming back again and again because she can't control herself and she is not self sufficient like Imlie that she can live her life alone .She will rather choose an unhappy marriage and indifferent partner rather than living alone . She will realise at the end of this track that none can separate Adilie because what they feel for each other is superior to what she thinks is love . Moreover T senior will come to realise that neither Aadi is in love with dd nor he is showing any daya to Imlie and Imlie is always the best for Aadi as well as for them too . Imlie will leave them understanding Dd's obsession for Aadi and as usual that man will understand the whole situation at the last because gehri dosti and all will keep him away from the truth.

I thought the exact same thing as well. I will not be surprised if this is how it will all play out, as that seems to be the only reason for this whole track to be inserted here. As Seera mentioned, each track before this had a purpose behind it that we came to know only at the end of the track. BBC was meant for society to accept Imlie, which removes that as a reason for the T family to reject Adilie. Kidnapping track was for Adi to realize that he needs the world to know that he is married to Imlie & not Malini - which he did by announcing it to the press that Imlie is his wife. The side advantage was also for PT to realize that despite the anger, Imlie has always proved her worth time and again and that she is really perfect for Adi. This track is for the T's to realize 2 things - One is that Imlie never took Malini's haq, in fact she has always given away her own haq and advocated for Adi & Malini's marriage to work.

But I also agree with you that unless Imlie goes away, they will not really grasp the fact that for Adi, Malini is just his friend and nothing more, and no matter how much they try, that is not going to change. But hopefully out of this we can finally have Malini realize that she cannot hold on to Adi anymore, no matter how hard she tries, shayad they may show her try to move on, seeing Adi's shiddat wala pyaar for Imlie, we can only hope.
