This is my take on Aditya and Imlie's story. I have shared some initial build-up. If you guys like it, I would share the rest of it. Thanks in advance for giving it an opportunity.

Aditya got forcefully married to Imlie in Pagdandiya. He unwillingly brought her to his home. He got engaged to Malini.

He was hurting Imlie on daily basis. Imlie was bearing all that with smile on her face. But she could not for some reason bear his engagement. She could not understand it, but something broke inside her seeing him becoming someone else’s. She decided to leave his house for good.

She left a letter to him saying that there is no logic in her being in his life, his house anymore so she is leaving. She told T family, that her mom is not well so she needs to return to Pagdandiya. They were all very sad to see her leave but they didn't stop her.

Aditya finally took a breath of relief after reading the letter. He didn’t even bother to check if she reached safely or not. He got busy with his life. He was happy. There was a kind of restlessness which he thought was because of his soon coming wedding.

One week before the wedding, Malini got a once in life time opportunity to travel to US for a year but she had to leave immediately. She discussed with Aditya and they both decided to put marriage on hold. Malini was really heartbroken with this decision but Aditya, being a good partner, assured her that everything would be same when she comes back and they would get married the day of her return. She left with this promise in her heart.

Strangely, Aditya didn’t feel anything about Malini leaving or his wedding getting cancelled. But as usual, he didn’t pay any attention to his feelings or lack of them.

6 months passed in jiffy. One day when he was just waking up, he heard commotion in his house. All T family members were gathered together and they were very excitedly looking at that day's copy of Bhaskar Times. He joined them and asked what the commotion was about. Rupi Di showed him the newspaper with big smile on her face. There, on 2nd page of the newspaper was Imlie’s photo. It was Imlie’s interview after she achieved 2nd rank in state level examination. Two things struck Aditya at once. One, he remembered how he had promised Imlie that he would be the first one to interview Imlie if she achieved something. He felt disappointed in himself that he lost that opportunity. Second, Imlie was wearing sindoor and mangalasutra in her photo. He wondered if she still considered that forceful wedding a truth.

That marriage was, is and always will be Imlie’s truth. When she left T house, she only took 2 things with her, Aditya’s memories and his sindoor. She didn’t tell anything to her Amma and Dadda. For them she was still living happily with her husband in her sasural. But her childhood friend, Prakash knew everything. When Imlie told him the truth about her and Aditya’s relationship, he was shocked. He loved Imlie since long so he asked her to marry him. But she refused saying that her heart will always belong to her Babusaheb. She cannot give that place to anyone else. He understood and decided to help her as a friend. He helped Imlie find an accommodation in hostel and continue her studies. She took his help only on one condition. Once she becomes independent, she would return every single penny that he would spend on her. He agreed. Imlie took the liberty to dress as married woman. To anyone who would ask where her husband was, she would say that he has gone overseas for work.

Aditya left for office but he could not stop thinking about her that day. He was feeling so many things that he wasn’t even aware of his surroundings. He was revisiting every moment he had spent with her, every conversation he had had with her. He was angry with himself, with Imlie, with everyone around him.

He also wanted to meet Imlie and congratulate her personally but didn’t know whether it was the right thing to do. If he had any right to go and meet her. But he was most perplexed about married look of Imlie. He so badly wanted to know what that meant.

In such tornado of emotions, he didn’t realize the day had passed. He found himself outside his home parking his bike, when he heard another round of commotion in T house. He got irritated thinking, “Now, what?” .Suddenly, he sensed some familiarity in all those noises, laughter, joyfulness. This happy energy was once a part of his home but it was missing since… since…she left. This realization struck him hard. “Is it possible that…. Is she… no, how is that possible. She can’t be here”. He ran inside the house with light speed. There she was surrounded by all his family members.

He could not find the courage to go near her. He just stood there and kept staring at her. After a while, Arpana noticed him and said,“Adi, What are you doing there. Look who has come. Come join us.”. At that moment, they looked at each other. He noticed the sudden change in her expressions. She suddenly became very anxious. Her eyes, which were full of light just a moment back, filled with fear and sadness.

He went there and formally congratulated her for her success. She also thanked him in formal manner. After a short while, Imlie announced that it was getting late and she wanted to go back. Badke Kaka said that someone would drop her. She refused. Aditya started to feel restless seeing her leaving. He said, “Imlie, wait! I would drop you back to your hostel.”. She got startled, “Why would BabuSaheb want to drop me. ” She tried to decline but he persisted.

Soon they were in car alone. There was awkwardness and silence. After some time, Imlie started to speak, “Babusaheb, I am sorry. I never wanted to comeback here but Badkekaka got my hostel address from newspaper. He came to meet me and brought me here for meet everyone. I never wanted to trouble you again. I will never come back again.” Aditya didn’t say anything. After some time she again said, “I am sorry to hear that Malini Didi and your wedding got postponed.” . Aditya just gave a formal reply, “Yeah.”

They again went to silent mode. As they were approaching her hostel, Aditya started to speak, “Imlie, I am very sorry for not getting intouch with you when you left. I am also very sorry for the way I behaved with you. Whatever happened in Pagdandiya was not your fault either. I am really ashamed of the way I treated you.”

Imlie replied, “It’s okay BabuSaheb. That train has already left the station. You don’t have anything to feel guilty about. I am sorry for all the troubles I caused you.”

Aditya , “Imlie, can I ask you one question. You are wearing sindoor and mangalasutra. Do you..do you still consider me… I mean, do you still consider that forced wedding a….”

Imlie replied, “No.. no Babusaheb.. It’s not like that. You are misunderstanding. When I went back to Pagdandiya, I told Amma and Dadda everything. They also understood your situation. They don’t have anything against you. Amma wanted to come and talk to you once but I made her realize that its of no use as you already love someone else. She was upset but she understood. But she was very worried about my future. So when my childhood friend Prakash proposed to marry me. I said yes. I got married to Prakash last month.. ” . It was all a lie.

Aditya’s heart stopped beating on hearing this. The car came to halt with a screech. Imlie looked at him worried. He composed himself and asked Imlie if she was fine. He restarted the car and dropped her to hostel.

That night, Aditya didn’t talk to Malini. He also didn’t sleep.
