Part 01: Aisi Hain Mohhabat Hamari

9 years. It had been 9 years since they had parted ways yet the memories of a few moments they had spent together lingered in her as fresh as a dew drop. She closed her eyes as a lone tear escaped them. He would be really happy in his life, settled with the woman he truly loves. They even might have had kids by now! Her heart twisted in the familiar agony which seemed to perpetually linger in her shattered heart since the day she had slipped a small part of it in his pocket despite knowing he would never pay heed to it. She knew he loved another. She knew their relationship was a burden he wanted to get off his head. She knew this sacred bond they had been tied in was a nuisance for him, something which was stopping him from reaching his happiness. But she had had no control over her heart which had declared it to be his forever, even if he dint want it. She knew her love would remain unrequited but she just couldn't help but fall in love with him despite his callous attitude towards her because Imlie knew what he had become after their forced marriage wasn't the true him. And before she realised, she had irrevocably fallen in love with him. But she knew his happiness wasn't with her and so she had let go. Her heart had crumbled to pieces yet she had masked her pain, her tears and let go for his happiness mattered to her more than possession for she knew love can never happen by force. And so she had let go. Giving her best wishes to him and his love and bidding goodbye to the family who had accepted her despite everything, she had left to carve her own path ahead. She studied hard and achieved great success but from within, she was still the lonely, heartbroken soul.

She had her Dadda and Amma with her and many times had they insisted at getting her married. They had tried everything to make her understand that she couldn't remain stuck or traverse life's ups and downs without a soulmate. But she just couldn't bring herself to accept. She had managed to quieten them time and again and they too had to ultimately give up. She did feel sad for hurting them by not moving on but Imlie knew she just couldn't. She did not want to spoil someone's life for she knew she could never love anyone ever again. She was just too broken and hollow from within for all the love she could ever do had been just for him. She loved him with all her heart. She loved him with everything she had. And now she had nothing else left to give it to someone else.

Sighing deeply, she wiped her tears which had freely started to flow down and closed the drawer and locked it. That was the drawer which had the symbols of his memories. She would see them each day and reminisce those three four moments of happiness they had spent together. Somewhere it gave her satisfaction. She had believed these were enough to lead her life. But just sometimes, her heart would wish he would be there, just for her and just as hers. Sometimes inadvertently, her prayers for him which she did daily would include her subconscious wish of having him as just hers in their next lifetime.

For the world she was Imlie, an ordinary village girl who had risen from shackles and barriers of society to become what she is today. Many people respected her and recognised her. She continued to shine through her social work in upliftment of rural women and children. But none knew of her loneliness, her heartbreak which was as new as it was 9 years back. It's said time is a great healer but somehow, the sands of time hadn't been able to heal her broken heart. She had gathered the broken pieces of her heart over time and put them together but never could regain the original self. Her heart with its cracks and crevices still beat for him and despite the pain, she knew this is how it would prefer living.

It is good but I don’t want them to part away even, if they do I want her to have his child so that she longs for him as well as she sees her love grow ...I don’t want her to be lonely .... he can be but not her 😀

This is a beautiful start to a a soulful piece of so much more to be told. One can feel her yearning and devotion even when there paths have separated. Glad she moved one achieved her name and stayed true to her faith in him in them.

Yet you leave no wondering did he move on or did he stay behind where she left him and followed her in silence as he said he would. Maybe there love is not unrequited afterall.

Soulfully penned.

looked forward to reading about there meeting and reunion soon.
