Well analysis/over analysis is subjective I suppose but I personally never thought there was any doubt that is why Imlie fascinated Adi...she's always stood up to him in her own way and confounded him.....this was actually a pretty clear theme😆

But chalo good, aaj Adi ne khud hi clear kar diya ki Imlie defeats him with her baatein that he has no logical response for😆

Baat yahaan pyar ki hai Adi babu, ismein logic ka waise bhi kaam nahin hai😛😆

As for Malini....if I go by the contrast they are setting up, then yes, Malini is right now chaos and destruction personified while Adi-Imlie are shown constantly building/guarding/protecting their rishta from all storms....that is what the guarding of the diya symbolized today as well....that they are coming out stronger with every test....and getting blessed by the Gods.

And they are coming stronger rising above the toofani waves is because they are not imposing themselves on the other despite their desperation ( well adi's ) to hold onto the rishta despite it being his zaroorat and no matter how it effects him he is giving her the choice we'll at least so far to make her life's decision.. unlike malini who is being a ziddi kid not letting go of a stupid burnt photo too.. she wants zabardasti jaise adi isn't a human in this. she has always treated him like a property but Rishton main property nahi hoti 😆 dheel deni hi padti hai and not dheel like malini gives actual dheel and vishwaas rakhna padta hai.. as they say pyar main sauda nahi.. for malini this relationship has been nothing but a sauda where adi has to agree to everything she wants she thinks she chooses.. banda doesn't even have the liberty to choose his own outfits and shoes and while uspe one can compromise to an extent and live with it not on other important life things and decisions

Someone help me understand - why did he do the pooja and say she is his wife? Is he thinking he is doing Imli an ehsaan for all she has done...does he realize he is out of control and doing what feels right? How is he justifying all this contradiction in his mind. Why is he not introspecting on the haq, jealousy, lack of control...how can a man have such a muddled mind?

Poor Imlie. She just wants to pack him off - before he does any damage. Does he realize everything he is doing in PG - all the apnaapan will only intensify her pain - esp since he still has no intention to leave Malini as of now. He was so conscious of this in Delhi - even with his familt he did not want her to bond. His brain has been addled.

The way he just couldn't let go of Imlie's hand...Jaal geya bechara to keep the pehchan of their rishta alive, and when Imlie put mitti on it to give him some relief, he just couldn't let her go. When Imlie asked him to go back, he was holding on to her with all the strength he had.

When he said , "jaana toh hai, yaha rehni ki liye hamara paas koi wajah nahi hey", mujhe laga he wanted some sort of sign from Imlie that he matters to her the same way she matters to him. The way he can't breathe without her, he wants to know that it's the same for Imlie. He knows Imlie cares for him as her husband, he wants more than that.

Coming to Delhi, Anu's dialogue "woh ek bejaan cheez thi joh barbad ho gayi..", I guess they were referring to Adini's relationship. It was shiny, perfect on the surface, bus jaan nahin thi unmeh. As Malini said, who decides which relationship will survive and which not? Sach main...kon decide karta hain?

LOLL oh yes, kya yaad dilaya, Mayuri.....if only I knew my words could be this prophetic, I'd wish for more🤣.....but I guess jalna was inevitable for Adi given the path he's walking on....and this is just the beginning as you said....abhi aur bahut jalna, tadapna baaki hai😆

Re: AC ka dialogue about the picture....yep, that definitely felt symbolic of Adi-Malini's relationship....a lifeless thing that burnt down.....but that's how she viewed it.....for Malini, it was a living thing and that is why she got hysterical asking who gets to decide what survives and what doesn't.....she's extrapolating her emotions onto the picture.....but sadly, destiny is charting its course. Adi-Imlie's relationship has gone through a long phase of not getting recognition either....but it was always blessed with symbols of sanctity, of purity....nothing ominous happened at any point to symbolize them breaking apart. Even when he was marrying someone else, all the symbols kept pointing to him and Imlie being the ones meant to be....from the haldi to the mehendi, to the grahpravesh....

But the way everything related to Adi-Malini is burning down right now, it does paint a very inauspicious and ominous picture that they aren't meant to survive....what they had was a temporary reprieve....but destiny charted a path towards Imlie and Adi all along.

So to answer Malini's question about who decides.....destiny does....and you don't help your case when you lack the strength to fight destiny. Which she clearly does.

On a related note, I also found it amusing that they applied the logic theme to AC ka convo with Malini too....where AC told Malini to use LOGIC to fix her problem😆.....meanwhile on the other side, we are seeing FAITH win in Adi-Imlie's case and helping to strengthen their relationship.

I was just rewatching the diya scene and some things stand out more in a second watch....the bit when Imlie takes offense to him questioning her logic, so she bristles a bit and tries to push back at him saying "aap sheheri log".....distinguishing him from herself....and Adi smiles after a beat and reminds her that her maasi thinks she's also become sheheri now.....on first watch it felt like he said it to argue back a point....but now I'm thinking he said it again to connect himself with her.....ki agar main sheheri hoon, toh tum bhi ab sheheri ho....mere jaisi😆

But then Imlie shuts him down again by saying, "Why should I bother with sheheri logic when I'm not ever going to go back to the city"? And his heart kinda breaks again😆

@bold - sweet karma 😆 and it is only going to worsen. But all he needs to do is put himself in harm’s way and Imlie toh pighal jaayegi 😆 Today’s scene - it was as though she felt his pain as acutely as he was when he got burnt

Now that you bring up the sheheri logic bit, I thought that I was seeing things during that scene. Let me rewatch. You must be right about wanting the connection part. It’s as though he’s now the one seeking constant acknowledgement and she refuses to budge 😆

Imlie said hamara rishta, hamara viswaas and asked Adi to throw away the wick. why was he holding on to it, despite his plam burning?

So apt and so many words with deep meaning.. symbolic.

the burning could also be getting rid of the old and making a fresh start - this may be true for Aditya, letting go of the old feelings towards Malini.
