Very valid post Raji. 👍🏼My biggest problem with self-mutilation as shown in the show is that off-late it is being used excessively. The first time they showed it they backed it up with an instance where Arzoo is able to see the wounds, think about it and find a way to help Sahir, thus reaching, reacting and alleviating that pain.
But now the repetition is too much and not getting us anywhere. It is not helping the story move as of now because Sahir and Arzoo are so far apart at this point, how will Arzoo even know he's doing this? So is there a point in depicting all this pain? By now, after some 60 odd episodes I think they have established that Sahir is a tortured man. There is something from his past that is gnawing at him, so much that he seeks to hurt himself and feel physical pain to nullify the emotional pain. Ok, I get it. I understand. There is no need to repeat it and make each time more morbid than the last one!
What we really want to see is this man starting to heal somehow. And that reason and source has to be ARzoo. With an apathetic family that neither knows or cares about this there is no one else to help him. So far we have seen him being pushed to the depths of sorrow. I think soon the makers have to start focusing on his revival. They need to start showing him on the mend, otherwise this show will become too negative. They need to give hope to their viewers and live up to their initial promise that this was a journey where two broken souls unite and heal each other. Even their Dargah episode promised that and I hope they deliver on that and start that process without much delay.
