Pete Doherty, the former boyfriend of supermodel Kate Moss appeared for a progress review of his drug rehabilitation programme that was ordered after the Babyshambles frontman was arrested several times on drug charges. He is a known heroin and cocaine user.
He said he hoped to have an implant within two weeks as part of the prgramme. The fingertipsized implants release the drug Naltrexone to prevent highs from opiates. The 27-year-old singer was two hours late for the court appearance in east London. Doherty said he was disappointed that his last test was not negative, "Maybe next time 'round," he said.
His case was adjourned until September, when another review of his treatment will take place. Doherty's drug habit gained international attention after a British tabloid printed pictures of Moss allegedly using cocaine at a music studio where Doherty and his band were recording.
