The primary purpose in a misogynistic culture/society, as I understand it, is to subjugate women to positions of no power. In light of this, I find it interesting that the head of such a family and the one holding all the power is a woman. Yes I understand that women can be misogynists as well but it is still a contradiction that I find kind of interesting and I just wanted to point that out. Yes misogyny may be a part of why people like this act the way they do but I think theres a lot more to it than that and so my comment was just an attempt to throw this contradiction out there to see what people thought of it. Anyway, I'm sorry I bothered because I think I misunderstood the point of this thread. It seems like the point of this thread is not to try and understand the underpinnings of misogyny or why people behave the way they do, but rather to merely define people with some pre-set rigid concpets and be happy that we've labeled them.

There are no two ways to misogyny , it may be a man made concept but its almost as old as society itself whereas Misandry is concept thrown by MRAs to attack feminism. There is no apparent hatred of men and therefore it doesn't take the form of violence against men. But there is apparently lots of hatred of women which ultimately manifests itself in form of rape, violence, sexual abuse, degradation of women, acid attacks and so much more.

And yes you are right I am not interested in knowing the underpinnings of misogyny as this is not a sociology class or psychology class. I don't care what causes such abnormal behavior, nothing can justify violence or abuse of women. And check your facts, these are not pre set concepts, they are reasons why alot of women suffer in this patriarchal society.
