So Indira is officially back. And she is back to where she left off eight years ago. She questions why they are at the station and why she is dressed the way she is. I really want to know how this works. Earlier, she could remember only those eight years and now, in an instant, she remembers nothing about those eight years. Is this an extreme case of creative license?
She does not remember the eight lost years, but then she does not question the bandage around her left hand yet, she does not wonder about her tumour (something that had her obsessed because she had very little time to arrange for the financial security of her family), she does not ask about Shweta who she forced Rishi to marry (maybe she will eventually...Shweta would not be top of her mind). I understand that her memory of her baby might not be that clear. She was in coma throughout that period and has not really connected with the child. But while I can understand that she might be surprised to see her daughter, I'm sure she would remember that she was pregnant. And that on the day of Rishi's wedding with Shweta, she requested him (over video) to save their child.
I am not sure whether she should remember that she escaped from her own pyre. Also that scene where she is commenting on the eight interim years that she had to spend away from her family and the various tragedies she faced was contrived. I don't think she has any memory of them, but if her reaction is a response to whatever Rishi might have told her, then I want to know how much Rishi knows! Who told him?
The way this whole back-to-normal sequence was done, there was something that failed to connect. Maybe the fact that she seems too normal too soon. Or maybe the fact that they pieced this epi together in minutes. I hope they pick these things up in future epis and try to put in on some track.
Rishi shows Indira video clips of him helping Indu take her first baby steps and the first words she spoke. Yeh kab hua? I thought Shweta did all that because he was mostly locked away in his Shrimatiji ke yaadon ka mahal, namely, the barsaati. He deliberately refrained from connecting with his daughter because he tends to lose whoever he loves excessively.
I also thought that whole part about Indu being her daughter and her replica was overdone. Whether it was the guy who felt that all this is the result of good karma or the lady who felt that her daughter can now be safe in CC because Hitler Didi is back, that whole scene was contrived and OTT.
The part I really liked was Indira being sweetly told off by Indu. This, by the way, is Indira's first attempt at disciplining her kid. She tells her that calling her father by name is bad manners. You cannot do that. And she says it in the same tone that she used to use with Ishaan...whenever she wanted him to obey her. With Ishaan, it worked. Indu, utterly devoid of shame, turns around and sweetly tells her not to be stubborn about it. š She signs off with "Aur Rishi Kumar kitna acha bhi naam hai". š Sigh. In the two hours since she has found her Mummy, she is a much changed kid. Lets see how long it lasts.
Meher shows signs of jealousy when Inder Sharma touches Kutumb. And Indu knows to play the baaja!! š²
The funniest was the precap...Munna of the watermelon cap meets his real sister!
