I wasn't part of any of the rounds.. so I haven't seen any of the banners. But I love the winning one. Congratulations Sano, stunning banner. :) I hope its up soon.

I just want to ask a question to mods.
@mods. If u have been sure that there were cheating going on at 1st round of voting then why mods didnt give warning at that voting thread? Or
if you had been sure about cheating later after the banner contest got closed at hd forum then why didnt u have informed about it to us that there would be 2nd round of voting in Dt section bcz of cheating at 1st round.
As the banner contest was for Hd forum, i think all the members of Hd forum/hdians had right to know about it. Didnt we???

We're working on this issue. Would be something up soon. Please don't argue over it. Not just meant for my banner for the other, i just want you guys to keep calm, the rest will be looked into. Don't go over board and start fighting.. it doesn't make sense that some people actually are arguing.. it's not good for this section.

Agree with you completely here Walden!!Nothing more to say!! When the banner is for this particular forum to which we all belong,the right for voting must also be with us alone!!The whole process just doesnt make sense in itself!!The attack of the mids is an expected one.We can see dat in many of the threads in the forum. We see many mids attacking our threads,does dat mean we all are connected to dem in any way or shud we stop making the threads itself?I jus dun get the whole point of a separate section voting for our banner!!

Hope the mods take some real concrete steps in this direction!!!

Dnt want 2 initiate any fights here bt I was shocked 2 c d way a thread on banner contest has progressed in dis forum...
@aadk n walden u guys mentioned in ur posts dat u didnt participate in dis contest...if u guys urself didn't vote why r u so concerned abt d fairness in dis system wen u didn't vote...if u guys wer so worried abt unfairness den why nt participate n make ur vote count...!!!atleast by ur votes maybe ur fav banner wud hv been selected...
N I wonder why no hue n cry abt dis fairness was thr d last time???

This is to remind you guys one last time, Participation in banner contests are open. Links for the posts are provided as a GA in IF home page. Anyone can participate.

And voting is also all over IF. Voting thread is also posted in a GA on IF. people other than a particular forum member can and mostly vote.

So That hopefully will clear your doubt regarding why a mod, who is not an active member has participated.

Also there are many reasons why normal members choose to go inactive in a forum when they join DT. The most important reason being called as biased and favouring one particular group, if they choose to join any discussion or AT.

When cheating is discovered, the members concerned are warned privately, banners are disqualified privately and whole voting is done in DT sections where DT members all over the forum come and vote. Why is this done because DT member usually do not have history or record of MID issues. And Moderators from different sections, including channel mods and global mods moderate those sections, So chances of cheating are lowered drastically.

That means DT members of this forum also get to vote.

I hope the DT members are considered a part of forum, even though we may not start as enthusiastic member here.

This has happened many times in the past.

Since Banner contest are open contests, many a time someone has won such a contest who has not been a part of the forum anyway.

Lastly members are taking this opportunity to bring in their own personal disagreement with each other here , we would once again request you guys to stop it.

Also neither supporting us will win anyone any favour, nor will bashing us bring you guys to our special black book. So stop accusing members from both sides for voicing their opinion.

Arti, you're right, I didn't vote in the contest. Because at the end of the day, I don't really care which banner wins. But just because I did not vote, does not mean that I give up the right to a fair and just process- and that's what this debate is about. I don't care which banner wins, as long as it wins fair and square and thru a transparent process. I care about the people who put so much effort into the creations only to be treated unfarily because of some MID's. I care about the people who voted fairly and I care that their voice should count.

I also don't understand why asking for fairness and transparency is wrong? This should be in the interest of everyone who is a member of this forum. If you have faith in the fairness of a process, then why not put it out there for everyone to see? What are we afraid of?

I don't know what happened at the time of the last banner (I wasn't active in the forum then). But if there had been issues regarding the fairness of the selection process back then, I would have supported those rasing these concerns.

Thanks a lot tanni for ur efforts in getting the second round voting before all of us.I suppose the voting here was based on the likes that each banner gets!! But tanni,you did mention in one of ur comments dat you were not a participant of this contest and stayed away from so that you could organise the whole banner contest thing!The post regarding the banner contest in the forum was made by one of the participant of the contest and am not opposing to it bcs being a mod of the forum,she has all rights to do so and is completely right at her place!!But when the voting took place in the DT section where it was voting by the mods itself,i think there it was not right of a mod cum the participant of the contest to create the thread.(I could see a few posts edited by sano in the screen shot and dats why am making this point).So where actually did you play the role of the organiser of this whole contest so that we get a fair result?And one more question that i need to aske here is that,It was told to all of us again and again in this particular thread by the mods that based on our voting top 4 banners were selected and then the rest of the process of voting took place in DT section!!But here I can see all the banners listed ,voted and called the winner independently irrespective of voting that took place in the forum!!I really dont know what to call this!! What was the need for voting in the forum in that case and moreover what was the need to befool all of us once again by saying that top 4 banners were selected according to our votes!!!All this just speaks a lott!!😊

walden bt i guess d MODS made it clear dat d mids votes were disqualified...n i dnt think dat d winner over here has won bcos of Mids...i just wanted 2 ask u guys since u were so concerned abt it...bcos i believe dat without evn voting, its unfair 2 assume dat just bcos sum other banner has won, it has won bcos of biasedness or mids...

anyways i dnt want 2 argue further as nw evn d screenshots hv been put 4 every1 2 c...

@tanni we r nt taking any sides here...i am really happy with d winning banner n hence posted d question 2 d concerned members...

these contests are about creativity...so this one's a fair decision!

i thought of participating in BC but then i din't because i knew that i lack creativity.

and the modz did all this with good intentions...the only thing that went wrong is, we forum members should have been informed about this DT voting thing either at the end of 1st Voting round or at the time of announcing winners...but at the end of the day we all are human beings and we are bound to make mistakes and learn from them!

anywayz looking forward to the new banner...and ya Congratz Sano, well deserved win 😊
