Keep writing and entertaining us! :D

All the best for your exams, Sandeep! Of course, HD makes for excellent entertainment, but its a good decision to stay away. And just as well that HD has stopped showing medical procedures in time 😊

Continuation to my last comment: and you too make HD watchable. Every time I decide not to go back to it, you write something hilarious and I have to get back on it to check it out. And not every forum member enjoys the fan following that you do 😆

Thank you for your wishes!

@bold - 🤣 🤣 I guess they knew when my exams are. Or maybe they finally realized their own invented medical procedures do not make much sense for anyone, let alone doctors and medical students. 😆

I very well know that rati has a fan following who would religiously watch the show in such circumstances for her performance rather than the story line. She is underestimating her fans. And it is indeed for rati that the show is still going on. I don't mean to hurt anyone, I don't mean that sumit is not an excellent actor, all I mean is its only die to rati's fans who follow her without fail that the show is working. Not a lot of tv actors have that sort of fan following.

Must be good to have such a solid and loyal fan base. You're right...not many people can claim that. But really, to take this to another level, it all comes back to what one wants to be associated with. Like die hard Amitabh fans would have winced so much on seeing him in a Toofan or an Ajooba. Choices do matter. But then its not as simple as that. Vicious circle. You get a role, you do your best and forget about the rest. She's playing the two characters really well. You can distinguish the two and that's quite an achievement.

Must be the same with Sumit, too. I don't know how he must feel playing Rishi. And yet, he is managing to add nuances. Without the support of the story or the writers. That's an achievement too. I really like his simplicity. 😊

Interesting discussion...more interesting than the episode. I'll add my 2 cents. I think there are certainly brand actors and non-brand actors (acting abilities not being relevant to inclusion in either group) and Rati has definitely positioned herself to be a brand actor. That's hard to do let alone for a woman and let alone in the television world. Once you become a brand actor, you certainly guarantee yourself a minimum amount of viewership, no matter what the quality of the project is. But this leads me to question Saumya's proposition. If Rati fanatics will watch no matter what and that is what is contributing to a major portion of the TRP's, don't you think this would actually be liberating for Illa Bedi and the creatives to try something innovative rather than sticking to the same old ghisa pita tracks to attract viewers?

Personally speaking, I think once an actor becomes a brand actor, the characters they portray somewhere lose the authenticity, genuineness, and truthfulness that they may have otherwise had. That's not to say that it can't be done (I think people like Vidya Balan and Aamir Khan attempt to separate out the brand from the actor in their work) but it requires chosing the right kind of project and right kind of storyline. I think HD has definitely been successful in propagating RP as a brand, but I think it has failed miserably in creating an authentic character. Maybe this is what RP was looking for and in that case the show has worked for her. But if she was looking to actually create an authentic character, then the show has failed her big time.
Regarding Sumit, he is definitely a non-brand actor and I hope he keeps it that way. I don't know why but I think its easier for me to relate to his character because I never think of SV, the actor, when I'm watching him onscreen. Personally, I don't watch a show or a movie for a particular actor (though their presence may intially draw me into the project) and I find it commendable when actors can make me forget the actor behind the character (not sure if that makes any sense..so I'll stop rambling now).
