Whatever today's episode wanted to convey, I did not understand. I guess this is the buildup to Zara's parda faash and they just wanted to kill time today.
Zara still hasn't finished with threatening to kill. She is so happy to merely threaten to kill Indira that she doesn't go any further. By now, I am sure her victim must be offended at being held hostage by such a sloppy kidnapper.
Anyway, Zara, Einstein that she is, keeps Indira alive, ties her up, and takes her home -- to Chandni Chowk -- in the same ambulance that is ferrying Savita's burnt body. Stows her under the seat at the back. No one gets to know of this because Rudra goes on to Sharma Nivas to condole the family (he has no other duty...he even changes into a white chudidar and becomes a pall bearer) while the ambulance driver is sent to bring drinking water. Zara is an amazing planner. 👏
At Chandni Chowk, Rishi wants to see the face of the dead body. Zara prevents him effectively. She is so good at disaster management that one cannot help admiring her. Just as she is done with convincing Rishi that Indira is dead, the thing packed under the seat starts moving.
Anyway, a few tense seconds later, she leaves his side and stops the ambulance that is taking Indira away. To her utter dismay, she finds that Indira has escaped. When, where, how...no one knows. And because Indira will not narrate the story of how she escaped to Zara, we will not know either. Hide and seek begins.
The last part was literally amazing! Zara is thrown into the secret passage and she is shown emerging from the cupboard. She comes down to see that Indira, draped in the white sheet, and therefore, unrecognized and unnoticed by every single person who enters Sharma Nivas, is inside the house. The same house in which her family is mourning her death for the third time. This was a hat trick. All three times, she wasn't dead. I don't know whether this show makes a mockery of marriage, of human nature, of life, or of death. (Aside: I expected the neighbours who were weeping along with Kutumb to say something like "Zindagi ka kya bharosa...ab dekho na...pichli baar nahin mari...na bimari se mari, na aag se...ab itne saalon baad, bhagwan ne use aakhir bula hi liya!")
Anyhow, Zara takes Indira out of the house and is still threatening to do away with her. (I think I am more frustrated than Indira about this!) when Indu comes outside. She is possibly trying to solve the mystery of why the doll she had kept on the dead body fell down. This phenomenon could be viewed in two ways. One is that the force of gravity acted on the doll, which, when dislodged from the body had no other choice but to fall. The other is deep symbolism. The doll belonged only to Indu's Mummy. Savita, even in death, could not have that doll
Indira also knows a name other than 'Ishi'. And that is Indu. She shouts for Indu. Tomorrow will be another patchwork epi, I'm guessing. We only need to wait for the epi in which Zara drags Indira into the middle of the house and sets her on fire!
