Till the time we have agreements, we feel happy but when we express disagreements, it irks. Why? I never saw a good debater loosing his/her temper when his/her points are cut.

About voting for our favourite actors, we have come across several polls just like this and it doesn't mean if we are expressing our opinion in debate, then are not concentrating on voting. I have myself voted for RP like a mad for hours.

i agree uk...wen d topic itself is so debatable thr r bound 2 b disagreements...thr is no need 4 anyone 2 take anything personally here...n i guess other than a few glitches in dis thread its going on fine till nw...we hv different opinions on d same thing...i dnt find any reason 2 get d topic closed...

I m very shocked nd surprised to see the recent mishap in my country...everybody shouted for the change from the root...i hv a great doubt and always questioned myself is dat change really needed????.should we change ourselves first?????r we so mean???I always blv these categories r very marginal ...coz dis new generations dnt bother abt sex discrimination..i always feel that we should nt b so mean bt today after seeing ur post I compel to agree that india might b needed to change their mentality first...forget abt the serial...

Nd if we consider dis soap I wanna add that Indira is d main protagonist ...nd d whole script is mainly focused on her...now the question is..does it really matter whether d protagonist is male or female????.nahhh.ok let me give an example ...one of my fav movies is 3 idiots...in this movie d basic plot is how rancho brks d all rules...,,,,,hw he lives his life according his own terms...dat type of colleges where a mere laugh can tag u as uncivilized...is dat really matter if rancho is a male or female character?no we still love him/her... in hitler didi too if cvs shows a male character devoted his whole life to his family trust me we all gonna fall for him... if he shows same potentiality nd convinced us by his acting skill like Rati Pandey..sex dsnt matter at all...basically we love d central character... in books, film, soaps. ..all genre ..its quite ridiculous to discriminate d sex...

P.S : SHILPA,YUKTI & SUR...love ur reply guys...muaahhh ...proud of u babes...

nd others who wanna argue wid me plz cm next sunday...sorry 4 dis

evn wen vidit was supposed 2 enter all wer anticipating dat he n indira will manage SN bt things turned out 2 b different...

n its just nt abt praising Indira all d time...ppl around her r nt evn worth appreciating n thats what makes her all d more gr8!!! if anyone in her family would hv atleast cared 2 share her responsibilty i wud hv definitely applauded dat person 4 doing so be it male or female...
plus in our society if u see a single father managing his kids n home as well his work he is always thought highly of...in a similar manner if a woman does so why cant she be appreciated...??? a housewife is nvr given credit 4 managing a family...dat can give rise 2 another debate...
n i guess u hv just read posts whr Indira has been applauded bt probably conveniently ignored posts whr she has been bashed n Rishi has been considered gr8 4 every damn thing dat he does...so i guess evn she deserves a word of appreciation 4 her selfless deeds...!!!!!
i wonder if ppl hv problm wid Indira being given d limelight n praised or they really do want a change in perception 2wards d society...😕
finally its a matter of perception n nt hw forward our thinking is...as sumone replied in ur post dat if she were a man no 1 wud hv applauded her..i dnt think so...4get d society we shud start wid ourselves...if we cant appreciate her nw we will definitely nt appreciate her evr...!!!!!

first of all shilpa,BINGO to whatever you said👏👏👏
and in our society ther r still some ppl who thinks that women can only be at home...and womens are worthless,,
@bold-yup i so agree with you why in our indian society a housewife is never given credit fr managing the family,,its a very big responsibility and alone women hv to look after her family her childrens bt have you seen a single person giving credit to any of housewives,,a biiiggg NOO,,still in many areas of our country thr r very less respect fr womens,,in such society a strong character like indira is just unbeleivable..and still,i in indian society in some parts most of the men are hypocrites,,in indian male dominated society nobody is likely to question their activities as long as they are providing their families with basic necessities n comforts,,n most of men have extra martial affairs too and in such cases a women having childrens are forced to turn a blind eye fr entire situation,,the truth is tht women were never weaker but they are made weaker in our society n india is still a male dominating society,,We see physical domination in some familes too.

.
n lastly we only have to try our best so that both of them get equal chance to expand their wings & use their potential to the maximum by complementing each other.. be more patient ,be more tolerant & be more strong ...woman is symbol of that...!!

Well a good discussion and I just wanna share my thoughts

If Indira were a man Then also I would have applauded and appreciated her!
From the primitive ages we know that women were always seen as an inferior sex in the society..And now In this so called "modern Age" countless crimes are done on women..Everyday we come across a girl being raped, eve teased, etc etc..the current one we already know..what happened in delhi..So From the past till now also women are dominated in the Society ..But with time as society changes The economic condition also changes...men now are not the sole earning member but women also now shedding their fears are coming forward to run their families..what fear...the fear of these crimes I have mentioned above..The character INDIRA is one such lady..to run her family...she destroyed her dreams, gave up her ambition..Though she was not the eldest in the family..why?She could have easily run away isn't it?But no she took up the responsibility even if it is such a family like Sharma family..she never got that love she expected in return still she cared for her them..showered love upon them..after all this doesn't she deserves the applause..of course yes for me!And yes being a women we appreciate her more because she gives encouragement and inspiration to those girls who think that if they are being raped n eve teased it is entirely their fault..Indira gives courage to those girls to get justice..That there is nothing to be ashamed of as it is not theirs fault entirely..Indira defies today's women..what women need to be to survive in this world,in this society..that is why she deserves applause..Yesterday a woman,a housewife won the KBC..isn't it a proud moment for all of us??Fictional characters like Indira and real life heroes like Kiran bedi gives encouragement to the women..that they are also equally strong and "they can also do what men can do"!

Yukti, wow thanks for putting in such time and effort to write! Lovely. I would like to just comment on the above few lines. So I agree with you that women have been treated unfairly in society and like you said yourself we have been considered the weaker sex. But the analogy you gave me regarding women being recognized compared them to a weak student in class who is recognized for improving. Why? Doesen't this assume that women are weaker and when they do something equivalent to men, it is special and deserves applause. I don't know if I'm bringing this across the right way but by recognizing women for doing something that men do, aren't we just saying that we have to work reallly really hard to do it and so we deserve recognition for it? Aren't we just calling ourselves the weaker sex by demanding such recognition?

infact we shud appreciate both of dem regardless of d gender n nt d other way round...
evn in d show Veera a brother is taking care of her small sister...evn if its his duty, its sumthing praiseworthy 2 do such a thing at dis tender n young age...evn our tv industry has started working in dat direction...evn male-centric shows hv come into picture...
thr was a certain era in d tv industry whr all female-centric shows wer shown...thr d females wer shown 2 b weak n like a damsel in distress...it reflected d reality of d society then in d 90's..2day thr r many shows dat show female characters as working women, doing multi-tasking...its reflecting d present scenario...no whr has d male been focussed upon bcos he is already respected in d society in contrast 2 d female-counterpart...its always a woman who is looked down upon in d society...what we see on tv is all a reflection of d society...
hence we shud definitely encourage both rather than nt appreciating any!!!!!

@bold- fair enough. I can't argue with that!
