CHAPTER – 9

Sameer was driving and Indira was sitting beside him.Both were not looking towards each other but their attention was on each other.They were not getting any word to start their conversation.While Sameer was driving,his eyes fall on a flower shop.He stopped the car in front of the shop and said to Indira,"Aap ek minute bethiye main abhi aaya."She said,"Ji thik hai."He got down from the car and went inside and Indira kept on waiting for him.After a few minutes,Sameer came outside with something hiding behind his back.She became curious.She asked,"Ye aapne haath ke peeche kya chupaaya hai?"He,in turn,instead of replying asked,"Aapko phool pasand hai?"Indira replied,"Ha bilkul.Bohot pasand hai."He presented her a bunch of red roses.Now Indira's condition was like as if she was watching some kind of a dream.She remained open mouthed and she was unable to react.She asked,"Ye-yeh me-me-mere li-liye?"Sameer looked around and replied,"Yaha pe koi aur to hai nehi."Indira blushed and asked,"In sab ki kya zarurat thi?"He said,"To thik hai main waapas karke aata hu."Saying he opened the door of his car,but Indira grabbed his arm and uttered,"Nehii!"She shouted a bit loudly which surprised Sameer and he remained still.She lowered her head and apologized,"Iam sorry."He asked,"To aapko ye pasand aaye?"She nodded her head.He gave it to her and she took it and in that process their hands got touched.They stared at each other for sometime.It was as if the whole world has stopped.After a few moments,they broke their eye-lock and Sameer got back to driving.Both were smiling hiding from each other.After sometime,they reached in front of SN.Indira asked,"Aap please andar aaiye na?"He replied,"Nehi phir kabhi aaj office mein bohot kaam hai.Main chalta hu.Bye."Indira waved her hand and said,"Bye."Sameer turned his car and moved off and Indira stood there until he vanishes from her sight.

Indira smelled the flowers.It was fresh like the morning.Admiring the flowers,she entered inside and on seeing her,Kutumb asked,"Indira main abhi tujhe hi phone karne waali thi,itni der kaha ho gayi?"Indira replied,"Vo ma…vo main…vo kapre pasand karne mein waqt lag gaya."Sunaina asked,"Arey waah kitne khubsurat phool hai.Kisne diye?"Indira didn't know what to say and how to say since she never told lie but she also didn't want to say the truth since she thought that the matters which are related to her and Sameer was something very personal for her and no one was allowed to interfere.She herself didn't know how and why these feelings came in her mind but she was happy and content with that.So she told half lie and half truth.She said,"Ummm mujhe gift mila hai."Sunaina asked,"Kisne diya hai?"Indira made a face and replied,"Diya hai bas,diya hai.Itna jaanne ki aapko zarurat nehi hai."Sunaina said,"Abhi se hi aise tevar hai to pata nehi sasural mein jaane ke baad kya haal hoga.Vaise samajh gayi ye phool tujhe Sameer ne diye hai."Indira looked towards her with a jerk and kept staring at her.Sunaina asked,"Aise ghur ghur ke kya dekh rahi hai?Tujhe kya lagta hai tu bolegi nehi to mujhe pata nehi chalega?"Indira,in turn asked,"Kyu kya mujhe ye koi aur nehi de sakta?"Sunaina said,"Dekh Indira main bewakuf nehi hu aur jo cheez tujhe karni nehi aati tu vo kiya mat kar.Aajtak to kabhi jhut bola nehi hai to bekaar ki koshish kyu kar rahi hai?Main jaanti hu ye phool tujhe Sameer ne hi diye hai."Indira blushed.Sunaina said,"Achcha achcha thik hai abhi itna sharmaane ki koi zarurat nehi hai.Jaldi se change karke neeche aa mujhe teri thori madat ki zarurat hai.Kal ko to tu sasural chali jaayegi phir shaayad tujhse baat karne ke liye bhi tere unse puchna parega."Indira was so embarrassed that she almost ran away.Kutumb said to Sunaina,"Tu na meri beti se zyaada kaam na karaana.Abhi jitney din hai maayke mein thora has khel lene de."Sunaina said,"Ha ha janti hu mummyji,main to usey bas cher rahi thi.Aapne dekha nehi Sameer ka naam lete hi vo kaise Sharma gayi.Iska matlab hai ke vo is shaadi se bohot hi khush hai."Kutumb said,"Ha bas uske khushi ke alava aur chahiye hi kya hume."Sunaina agreed to her.

Indira returned to her room and placed the flowers on the vase. She cared the flowers and remembered the moment when Sameer gave that flowers to her.She was very very much happy and thought that if that moment would have never ended.Gradually,the day of Sameer and Indira's engagement arrived.There was a chaos all over the house of all the relatives and the decorations etc etc in both the houses.But amidst of all these chaos,two hearts,being the central part of these were still away from all these and were busy in their own world which was soon going to be one.They were knitting their beautiful future together in their own still being unknown about each others as well as their own feelings.

Simi was helping Sameer get ready for his engagement.She was fixing the buttons of his sherwaani when Sameer said,"Ab bas bhi karo ma,aur kitna???Aisa lag raha hai main duniya ka pehla beta hu jiski sagaai hone ja rahi hai."Simi scolded him,"Tu chup reh,dunia ka na sahi mera ek lauta beta to hai aur main to apne bete ki shaadi mein saare khwahish purey karungi."Aniruddh came to his room and said,"Simi jaldi karo,vaha vo log bhi to intezaar kar rahe honge."Priya teased Sameer,"Vo log nehi dad,bhaiya aur bhabhi ek dusre se milne ke liye bechain ho rahe hai."Sameer grinned,"Lagta hai ab tera credit card cancel karwaana hi parega."Priya gave a 'don't care' type look and said,"Karaado bhaiya ab to daadi bhi hai ab mujhe paiso ki koi problem nehi hogi."Simi scolded both and said,"Chalo ab dono bhai behen jhagrna bandh karo aur chalo."While they were moving outside,Aniruddh said,"Vaise Simi shaadi to tumhaare bete ki hai par aisa lag raha hai jaise dulhan tum ho."Sameer and Priya were giggling on hearing it.Simi grinned,"Kya kar rahe hai aap bachcho ke saamne?"Saying she went away.Aniruddh said to his son,"Beta chahe teri ma ki kitni bhi umar ho jaaye par hai aaj bhi pehle ki tarah hi khubsurat."Both laughed and then they also left.

When they reached SN,all the people welcomed them with great honour.While sitting,Sameer was looking here and there to have a glance of Indira,but to his badluck he was not there.Sunaina asked,"Kya hua Sameerji aap kise dhundh rahe hai?"He was totally embarrassed and said,"Ji…ji..vo..uh ku-kuch bhi nehi."Sunaina cleared his throat and said,"Vaise aapki aakhe jise dhundh rahi hai na vo abhi tayyar ho rahi hai aur vaise bhi dulhan ko tayyar hone mein waqt to lagega hi."At that moment,Kutumb with another lady came downstairs with Indira.Sameer just remained open mouthed on seeing the heavenly beautiful woman,the woman of his life coming downstairs.He just got disconnected from the rest of the world after seeing her.She too was watching him continuously and they both smiled to each other without getting noticed and Indira blushed.Sameer said in his mind,"Oh God!Mujhse to abhi ek aur pal ka bhi intezaar nehi ho raha hai.Jee to kar raha hai abhi isiwaqt shaadi karlu."At the next moment,he corrected himself,"Control Sam control!Ye kya soch raha hai tu?Just behave yourself."Kutmb made Indira sit beside Sameer.Simi took their evil eyes and said,"Ek dam ram milaayi Jodi hai.In dono ko kisiki nazar na lage."Simi then gave Sameer the ring and asked him to make Indira wear it.Sameer gave his hand and Indira,without looking at him,put her hand on his hand and he inserted the ring on her finger.Kutumb too gave Indira the ring and asked her to do the same and Indira too did the same.After that there was full of enjoyment but Indira and sameer didn't become the part of it.They were sitting in their respective places and were just stealing looks from each other.Sameer asked,"Aapse ek baat kahu?"She replied,"Ji kahiye."He said,"Aap aaj bohot khubsurat lag rahi hai."She blushed and said,"Thank you aur aap bhi achche hi lag rahe hai."Sameer smiled and said,"Ji thank you."The engagement function got over nicely and in a pleasant manner.Before leaving,Simi said,"Aaj se Indira aadhi hamaari hui isliye beta aajse tum mujhe aunty nehi balki ma bulaaogi.Thik hai?"She blushed and nodded her head.Aniruddh patted Indira's cheeks and said,"Half welcome to Diwan family."Everyone laughed at this.

In their rooms,both Indira and Sameer were admiring their rings and thinking about each other.They had a heart to heart talk :-

I :- "Ab bas kuch din aur,phir main hamesha hamesha ke liye apna ghar chor dungi."

S :- "Kaha chor dengi aap apne naye ghar mein hi to aa rahi hai.Ye bhi to aaphika ghar hai."

I :- "Phir bhi naye log naya maahaul,sab kuch to naya hoga na."

S :- "Main hu na aap fikar kyu karti hai.Mere hote huye aap kabhi is ghar mein akeli nehi hongi."

I :- "Aap to pura din office mein rahenge."

S :- "Mera dil to aaphike paas hoga na aur aap kahengi to main chutti bhi le lunga."

I :- (blushed) "Aap bohot achche hai."

S :- "Thank you aur aap bhi bohot achche hai."

I :- "Thank you too.Abhi main sone jaati hu ha goodnight."

S :- "Good night."

Both went to sleep.

After 15 days there was an auspicious day and on that day Indira and Sameer's marriage was fixed.But due to their bad luck,Sameer had to go abroad for a meeting for almost 5 days.Simi was not at all happy with that and she even fought with Aniruddh but Sameer had to interfere in the middle and he assured that he would complete the deal within or less than 5 days and if it didn't complete he would return after the 5^th day only.

At the day of his flight,Indira was all day busy in the kitchen making something for Sameer which he liked very much.After completing preparing it,she called Sheena over phone and asked her to meet her on the main road outside her lane.After that she packed the food and almost ran out of her home.Kutumb asked her to go carefully.Indira met Sheena outside the lane and said,"Jaldi ek taxi bula unke flight ka time ho gaya hoga."Sheena teased,"Oho abhi se UNKE ha!!!"Indira pleaded,"Please yaar mazaak mat kar agar laate ho gayi to unka flight nikal jaayega aur meri mehnat bekaar chali jaayegi."Sheena said,"Ok ok chal."She immediately stopped a taxi and they moved off to the airport.

When they reached that airport,Indira searched for Sameer a lot but didn't find him.She called him and asked,"Aap kaha hai?"He replied,"Abhi abhi airport pohocha hu."Indira gave a sigh of relief and said,"Maine socha ke kahi aap chale nag aye ho."He confusingly asked,"Kyu kya hua?"She said,"Nehi vo main aapka airport mein wait kar rahi hu.Kya aap andar jaane se pehle mujhse milkar jaayenge?"He was shocked to hear that she was there in the airport.By that time,he too reached the airport and asked her to wait just in front of the departure door.Whn he reached there,he found her waiting anxiously for him.Sheena deliberately moved away from there to give them their personal space.He moved towards her and asked,"Aap yaha…?"She said,"Vo main aapke liye kuch laayi thi."He asked,"Mere liye???Kya???"She took out a box from her bag and said,"Priya ne kaha tha ke aapko besan ke laddoo bohot pasand hai.Maine aapke liye besan laddoo banaaye hai.I hope aapko pasand aayenge."Sameer was bewildered at her concern.He asked,"Aapne ye mere liye banaya?"Indira lowered her head.Sameer said,"Thank you."He looked at the watch and said,"Main chalta hu mere flight ka time ho gaya hai."Indira nodded her head.The moment,Sameer turned to leave,Indira too herself didn't know the reason,but she spoke up,"Jaldi aana."saying she stopped herself from saying anything more and she herself got confused.Sameer on hearing her words,turned towards her and smiled.He said,"Ha jaldi aaunga."Both smiled at each other and he left.

Indira was returning home by a taxi with Sheena,when she suddenly got a message:

"Laddoo sach mein bohot achche hai.Mujhse raha nehi gaya isliye maine abhi kha liye.Kuch bache hai flight mein kha lunga."

Indira had a smile on her face and she replied:

"Thank God aapko pasand aaye mujhe to dar lag raha tha ke kahi achche nehi bane honge."

Sameer replied:

"Aap banaaye aur mujhe pasand na aaye aisa to ho hi nehi sakta."

Indira replied:

"Ab aap kuch zyaada hi taarif kar rahe hai."

Sameer replied:

"Aap deserve karti hai.Achcha main na jaane ke baad vaha pohochkar aapse baat karunga agar aapko koi problem na ho to par please ye baat aap mere aur apne gharwaalo ko mat bataiyega kyuki abhi shaadi se pehle unke mutaabik to larka larki ka milna sahi nehi hai."

Indira replied:

"Ha thik hai.Main kisiko nehi bolungi."

Sameer replied:

"Ok bye mere flight ka announcement ho gaya hai.Main chalta hu bye."

Indira replied:

"Bye."

Both cut the call.
