A Savior,a Guardian Angel, that is what defines the role of this character Rishi in "HD",according to me.Time-and-again we've seen his unconditional love for Indira, and every time he has been constant in his devotion towards her.And now his ultimate sacrifice will be seen as he will surrender to Indira's wishes by agreeing to marry Shewta. So,for me it is not the protagonist of the story, who is the hero, who is an inspiration to others;it is Rishi and his love that is the finest example of true love. And many of you will disagree with my opinion, but my opinion stands on practical reason,i.e.,Indira will get Rishi married and she'll die peacefully, and after death the soul is free of every bond. But Rishi,he'll be the one living and breathing every single day without Indira;he'll be the one,who will live with this pain of loosing her,for the rest of his life. And what more painful punishment can anyone get than the one Rishi will get?
Therefore, for me its not Indira Sharma, who is "mahaan",but it is Rishi, whose self-sacrificing love will be remembered by all.And a request to all fans of Indira.please don't waste your time in replying to this post, because this post is made in praise of Rishi.
