As for Indira's selfishness and Rishi's selflessness...Umm...Rishi has always been shown like a detached leaf, without a family or even a care for the family.I don't think he actually cares much about them else he could have allowed any other lawyer to fight mandira's case...Someone experienced and smart. Why did he have to interfere when rani ditced the case? Because he wanted to prove himself to Indira. Did he even think he might send his own brother to jail, he was coolly talking about umra kaid with radhey...And then romancing Indira when she thusofied the food in his mouth...

How on earth will Indira understand if he felt sorry about his losing his family when he himself has never shown any love or concern towards them? As far as i remember he has only bad mouthed his family and projected that as a reason for lying about his identity...Indira did feel for him when he was walking aimlessly in the court but I guess she was feeling a lot of things herself...She needed to get them sorted too...She too is human after all...

Last but not the least...yes Indira does put her family above Rishi. She loves her family quite obsessively. That doesn't mean she is selfish. I don't how can people rate love for family as a drawback especially for a girl like Indira who has kept that family going for so many years. She still has a lot to know about Rishi,he is perpetually a stranger to him. She had repeatedly asked him to open up without any proper response , so what is she supposed to do? make it her aim of life to dig in more information from him? Has Rishi ever told Indira that MMji i feel horrible when my mother treats me like crap...he has himself kept that side of him away...how is she supposed to know? When he had said about the punishments given to him in his childhood, she had listened...

When Rishi himself can't trust Indira to understand him how can Indira guess his vulnerabilities...Atleast indira has given him a leeway to her heart...opened herself to him , rishi always kept himself hidden under the cloak of jokes, super confidence and declarations of love...

I think what the Cvs should show now is...An emotional breakdown of Rishi and some emotional depth from his side and Indira hearing his rants. I don't want her to follow him around, that would be sooo tit for tat in inshi relationship...its like Rishi taking it out on Indu...since I pursued you so you should pursue me...lol..I want an emotional outburst of Rishi and Indira sitting and hearing it out...like a friend not a GF...Then consoling him a normal way like a friend would...

And please don't misunderstand Rati fans...They have more or less given up on the forum so most of them won't bother replying here...TC

He introduced Rani Bhatija already who was smart and best lawyer according to him...He forced to be lawyer by himself as to give counters to Rani as he remained as a student to her and knows the best to her than others...Probably that's why CVS shown Rani and him as a student/teacher relationship...

Are you seriously proposing that the collection of who's who of studs from Zeetv soaps for that abominable bachelor party as a group of friends who can provide emotional succor to Rishi at this stage, for this serious a matter? as far as I recall, even zeetv forced to provide a fig leaf for showing hot males dancing with hot white females said they were old college friends, living in diff cities, getting together to reconnect for an evening.

Only one person who qualifies as a friend is Sanjay and he is in US.

We we want to uses those sorry studs as examples of friends, we can do the same for Indira and say that she also has friends - the heroines of Zeetv soaps who came to her sangeet, and whose sangeet she went to.😉

Secondly, Indira should be the first person to feel the pain of loss of familial support or pain at cursing one receives from a parent. Even if Rishi had not shown a single gesture to indicate he still craved for parental love and blessing, Indira should & would still feel pain on his behalf because we all project onto others what is important to us. This is why the surprise at her silence on price paid by Rishi.

Thirdly about how would Indira know if he did not tell her. Well Rishi did tell her when they had a quarrel when she took him to task for going to the press with rape. He told her in no uncertain terms that he was in pain too, that it was his family too.

Fourthly, he did take Indira to the best lawyer. But the lawyer renaged and Rishi's desire for herogiri came forward. Thing to also consider though is which lawyer would have taken his place when Indira had no luck finding anyone previously to go against the Diwans. And would they have fought the case to win?

Finally, I do not recall Indira ever having a "Rishi" conversation with Rishi. Only time I recall her asking him about himself was when he first became her tenant and was trying to give her advice to not push Mandira into a corner. Even when they first reconciled, their conversations were rushed, were about money, romance etc, but not serious heart-to-heart. This is both their fault.

I am fine with emotional breakdown from Rishi. But out of the two, the person who really needs an emotional showdown with herself to tear apart the hard shell she has built around herself is Indira.
Rishi or no Rishi. She needs this exercise to throw the shackles of slavery that her family has hung around her neck. Otherwise, soon one day she will be old and alone

cheers

Healthy love is good. Unhealthy not so much

In her case love for family is a drawback as it is the same family who allowed her to go to jail and be tortured so that they could enjoy a measly necklace, who refused to loan her their saree, suit, lipstick when she was pathetically asking them for it because she wanted to look good for her perspective in-laws, who will always sabotage her chances for personal happiness because to quote her "who sone ke andee deney wali murghi hai"...

They are dependent upon her because of their addictions, and she is addicted to their dependency of her.

Finally, this discussion is not about false dichotomy of "selfish" versus "selfless", but more of an unequal relationship.

😊
had and have a lot to say but the above conversation is interesting enough so res...for now

the problem is that there are no absolute rights and wrongs in everyday life and HD seems to follow life pretty closely. so we can only discus generalities when each track gets over rather than episodes i feel.

then the individual epi leaves scope for thinking and talking

Ok i am not editing my previous post...waiting more e-space...I think what prathana said is right...there is no absoloute right and wrong and what either of the characters Indira or Rishi does is based on the perception of their own reality...not ours...so i think it is impossible for us to judge or predict what a certain character would do in future...because in life we cant sway situations or completely do right and wrong according to what others have to say...
