With an actor of Rati Pandey's calibre at the helm of affairs, we knew we could expect top acting chops from her. She has delivered and how. She IS INDIRA, the strong but quietly suffering woman, the no nonsense lady who will never get the love and appreciation due to her from her family because of the fact that she is the sole breadwinner. She is the man of the house and thus she attracts censure, frustration, anger and revolt from her family members.
Usually a family this dysfunctional and useless would be written off by most audiences but the stellar casting casts its spell on the viewers. We cannot but laugh at Sunaina Bhabhi's gluttony, get frustrated and annoyed at Munna bhaisaheb's nikammapan, fail to understand what makes Kutumb so blind to her devious husband's ways, get faintly annoyed at the grating bengali accented Hindi of Jhumpa and just generally hate inder sharma for being so spineless! š the only weak link here is mandira. i just cannot make myself discuss her because she is inconsequential to the plot in my opinion.
now let us come to the most controversial person/character of discussion on the forum š mr rishi kumar. sumit has grown into the character of rishi. rishi's mysteriousness has been maintained and we are yet to find out why exactly is he in Indira's house. i actually enjoy watching the dynamics of the indira rishi interactions because they inspire opposite reactions in each other, exactly opposite to what they expected. š indira expects rishi to leave her alone by being extra rude to him and rishi expects indira to be thankful to him because of his good-intentions-gone-awry towards her. š it never pans out for the both of them. let us see what the future holds. š
the ishaan indira bond is a treat to watch. the child actor is a natural though he slightly overacts sometimes. but he is cute so all mistakes maaf! š i look forward to how the serial will capture the entirety of this magical bond. š
with the macau track coming up, i am sure the serial is heading into more exciting waters. i hope they maintain the consistency, the tight screenplay and the steady pace.
just a few grouses: please do not try to make indira seem maha good and maha bechaari by making all her family members evil. what is the point of one dimensional or two dimensional characters? the Indian audience is primed for grey characters and i hope the show delivers on this count. i hope there will be less of caricatures and more fleshed out characters in the future.
also please keep surprising us. do not make the tracks predictable with love triangles and forced marriages et al.
all in all, i have loved the first one month of HD. Ila Bedi here are some claps for u from a very satisfied viewer of the serial! š š š
