I think dumby knew more about Harry than Harry himself did. I mean about his feelings for ppl n stuff. So I think it is fairly possible that he might have known that Harry the good samatarian that he is would surely try to go into the chamber.... lets not forget the fact that Ginny at that time was Ron's sister for Harry maybe nothing more... so still he'd go rite.

achal and tejas... both of you have a point... and taking into account the fact that there's lots more to dumby than what we know and can guess at, i think i can't... no one can... dismiss entirely, the possibility that dumby and his pet phoenix fawkes could have some connection... probably some telepathic connection... or something like what we see in K serials... if the lead character's (read typical bharatiya nari's) husband or someone is in danger, the lamps start to flicker, fires start to gutter, the temple bells start ringing... so it isn't tooo farfetched to think that perhaps fawkes knows when his master is in danger!😆
