Each year, the world's most popular search engine reveals lots of interesting tidbits from search data they collect. This year, 'Harry Potter' came in 10th under top Google News searches.

Google also did a side-by-side comparsion of the terms 'Harry Potter book' versus 'Harry Potter movie' for the entire year. Not surprisingly, they each peaked dramatically at their respective times to shine (July 16th and November 18th).

And finally, the terms 'Hogwarts' and 'Middle Earth' (for Lord of the Rings) were compared in popularity. The latter ranked above Hogwarts for nearly the entire year.
