(in a hurry to get to work😊......will post later)
Well, to begin with, Dreamy, thanks for the very well-thought and earnest post👏 Loved the sun and shadows imagery ......you go, girl!⭐️👏
Laxmi, Nadini, CB: Great points .......so agree with all that you guys have written.
Few things that I want to add:
Part of the problem here is our sensibilities. I was thinking of making a thread on this but, ..oh well😃
We all come to this show with our so called modern sensibilities that have taught us(correctly, if I may add) to frown upon and recoil from physical violence, to resolve conflict through dialogue and the spoken word, not fisticuffs. As such, this level of brutality at the hands of ODB, is off-putting, to say the least. But, we have to remember the story, setting and mileu of the show is very different from what we probably come across in our daily lives and we had been warned at the very beginning............so I guess, I can understand both the show and the reaction of some of the viewers..... oh gosh, hope I am making sense😆
At the risk of repeating myself, at this stage of the story, ODB is not exactly at the peak of emotional maturity........I think Sona used the word, unidimensional..........that is not to say that he does not suffer twinges of conscience when he sees Arpi, but on the whole, he is in Avenger mode and that is the way he is likely to be till either he finishes his business, or something else comes up that throws the picture into a different light altogether. Arpi, to him in this mode, is just a distraction, who with her claim on his affections, with her beauty and tears, is interfering with his mission. Hence the resentment. She also reminds of the promises her made to her and her mother, and he realizes that he unable to fulfill those promises right now and that adds to disquiet he feels when he sees her.
Also, deep down, IMHO, he rationalizes his actions and attitude towards Arpi by telling himself that they have made all those vows and promises to stand by each other through thick and thin..........so she should understand. She should realise how important this is to him and thus should stand by him and support him.....now that she is his ardhangini. I was expecting a scene where he verbalises this to Arpi, but I guess, Dreamy you are right in saying that he is staying away because he doesn't trust himself to not get swayed when he is in her vicinity.
The other issue, that of Manjari..........I think she has served the dramatic device of the reluctant facilitator well till now.......she was the one who delivered the letter to ODB, that set the ball rolling for Arpi's eventual rescue. But if it really pans out as some have suggested, where MCR comes complaining that his daughter is not being treated right, then that would be highly farcical......he is the last person on earth who can complain😡
Btw, Dreamy hope you saw the BJ dialogue translation that I did for you😃
Do let me know people if all this above makes any sense 😛 or I was just shooting my mouth away😉😆 (like button will not hurt😉)
Thanks and luv you all🤗
