We have two very distinct women in Avdesh's life. They are both very important to him and both love him very much in their own way.
Bhouji: This woman bought him up during a difficult period of his life. It would not be remiss to say that he has deep affection for her and holds her in high esteem and we know he respects her very much. In essence he looks on her as a mother. I don't think it ever entered his mind to think of her any other way. Her life seems one of revenge and now her attitude is one of 'show them might' constantly. Somehow along the way, she either transferred her feelings from her dead husband to his young brother or she fell in love with him for himself. However, her love is selfish because it is a self serving one. She is dark as the night, with bottomless secrets.
Bhaiyyaji was made by this woman. A persona, Avdesh, willingly embraced, if not he is too ingrained in it to think of any other way of life now ' or dares not to dream of. Despite his hard life, his essence remained unchanged. He is sweet, gentle, sincere and in some ways still very innocent. This is one side he kept hidden. Until Arpita.
Arpita: She is a young girl, on the cusp of womenhood. She loves Avdesh for himself. For being the saviour in disguise, the defender of women and the vulnerable. Her love is deep and pure. Totally unselfish. She is young, still able to mold herself to suit the man she will spend the rest of her life with. For her everything begins and ends with Avdesh. She is the light, as pure and life giving as the sun.
These two women will play two very important roles in Avdesh's life from now on. He will be torn between the old and the new. The old because he owes his very existence to bhouji. The new, Arpita, is his future - one he yearns for...to finally rest his arms and seek peace within the love of his life.
Can he do that though? Bhaiyyaji is magnetic and powerful and in some ways there is now a sense of duty, that his own nature will demand he fulfil. And then there is Bhouji. She had to admit defeat for the moment and let Avdesh marry or raise suspicion and she is not ready to face Avdesh's disgust if she reveals her feelings......so she let them marry. But now her true game will start - to pull Avdesh' soul into the quagmire of darkness till he could not find his way back to the light. Ever again. So she will endeavour to get rid of Arpita, who gives him courage to go on with her love and acceptance.
If Avdesh continues on this path, it will kill Arpita. She cannot bear to see the man she loves constantly risking his life. He is a turbulent storm, she is the eye ' the oasis of calm in the storm but even then does she not have some right over their life? To carve a peaceful existence for them both and any family they may have in the future?
How will Avdesh find his path? We already saw the beginning...suhaag raat interrupted (though I hope I am wrong and he comes back asap).
