Tanvi Bhatia who was last seen playing the character of Bela on Star Plus show Mitwa Phool Kamal Ke is all set to make a comeback with Imagine TV's new show Gunahon Ka Devta. So tellybuzz got in touch with Tanvi to know her personal approach towards the show…

How were you approached for the role of Arpita?
After a break I was just in search of some interesting roles so I ahd auditioned for the role of Arpita also and they found me apt for the character and I got selected.

Tell us about the character?
Arpita the character I am playing is a 19 year old college going girl, not at all bubbly and shy , she to an extend is quite bold. She is a normal girl who dreams of getting married to a guy who protects women and respect them.

What do you think is the USP of this show?
I think the story itself is the USP of this show also the casting is also done in a very amazing way. I liked the character it's different from the other routine roles and is also very different from the character of Bela my first lead show.

You have already started shooting so tell us about your co actors?
All the co actors are really very good and very nice to work with. I feel very comfortable working with Ashish (male lead) and we have lots of fun on the set. Also the environment on sets is quite chilled out.

Did you have any outdoor experience?
Yes we did shoot in Jodhpur for some time and it was great fun. And the best part about it was we used to pack up early due to day light problems (smiles).

What's your take on the abrupt ending of your previous show Mitwa?
I am very attached to Mitwa; each and every moment of the show is very close to my heart. When we got the news of the show going off air we all felt very bad and I was personally very upset as Bela was my first role as a lead and it got me name.

Which has been the most memorable incident about Mitwa?
Everything is memorable in Mitwa, I used to fall a lot during my shoot. I still remember one incident where I was shooting in water and in that pond there was lot of crabs when I came out something poke I screamed a loud and whole unit rushed toward me I was badly screaming but later on I discovered that it was pin that was poking me. It was too funny. (laughs)

So who all are in touch with you from the Mitwa gang?
I do call most of them quite often mostly my director and Nigar Khan the one who used to play negative.

After Mitwa why did you take a break from TV?
I had given my Second year exam luckily Mitwas got off air in January I got time to study for my final exam, went for an holiday, after that was looking for good and different role.

So this year yours last year?
Yes this year I will be appearing for my T Y exam and I want to continue my study.

So how are you planning to manage your studies?
I will try to cop up both the thing I will also request my production house to grant me leave for my exams.

During Mitwa days there was a buzz that your mom used to be with you on set and she used to throw Tantrum?
No nothing like that. Yes she used to come with me but she used to never come with me on my sets other than to watch my scenes otherwise she is used to always be in Vanity Van or room. She used to never throw tantrum. She used to be juts with me without bothering anybody on the set.

So was there any special reason for your mom's presence on the sets?
Yes I am very much attached to her. Also she is my lucky charm.

LSD actor turns into small screen Robin Hood
After Salman Khan's Robin Hood-inspired turn in his latest hit Dabangg, Ashish Sharma, who made his acting debut with Love Sex Aur Dhokha, is all set to play a similar role on the small screen.

The 26-year-old actor's lead role of Avdesh Singh Thakur in Imagine's new show Gunahon Ka Devta draws heavily from the heroic outlaw of English folklore.

"The character of Avdesh is similar to that of Robin Hood. He is forced by circumstances to enter into crime at a very young age. Even though he is a bad guy, he has a heart of gold,"❤️ Ashish said.

Set in a crime infested town in eastern UP, the show portrays Avdesh as the leader of a dreaded gang of criminals. But he is also revered for his intrinsic goodness, his sense of honour and humanity. He extorts money from the rich, only to help those in need.

Ashish says his character is loosely based on Sri Prakash Shukla, a young mafia don from UP who was killed in an encounter last year.

"The background of my character is the same as that of Shukla," said Ashish, who got rid of his chiselled gym-physique in order to look like a goon from the heartland.

"I had to get rid of my six packs😲 and get into the 'akhada' look 😳😍and shift from diet food to doodh malai," he added.😳😳

This is his first television show and the Jaipur-based actor was initially apprehensive about taking it up as he doesn't approve of the process behind making soaps and serials.

"I took up this show only because the process of making it was not like the usual soaps. We had a month-long workshop before shooting to get my dialect right and get into the feel of the character. The preparations were just like making a film," said Ashish.

The actor has two films in the pipeline, which will go on floors shortly. The first, Dillogical, is about the growing tendency among youngsters to commit suicide under pressures in life. The other one is named Youthopia and is the story of four kids and a cartoonist.

Imagine Promotes 'Gunahon Ka Devta' With Chili Powder!

Imagine TV has recently launched another primetime show called 'Gunahon Ka Devta', which has replaced a popular show 'Rehna Hai Teri Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein' at 9pm slot.

The story of the serial is inspired from a novel by Dharamvir Bharati. Here, the male lead character Avdesh Singh Thakur is a goon with a heart of gold. The channel has recently promoted the character of Avdesh through a campaign for the show. The male lead is a man, who has great respect for women and can do anything to save the honor of the fairer sex.

But, at the same time, Avdesh can't even look in the eyes of Arpita, whom he adores secretly. Their recent campaign was aimed at establishing Avdesh as a desirable guy among the girls and to bring alive his personality.

Speaking about the campaign, Nikhil Madhok, the head of marketing and communications of the channel, said that they are approaching the women group in colleges throughout 15 cities. They approached with the message that positions Avdesh as a very different character. He is far from the usual typical chocolate boy heroes of Indian television.

As a part of the campaign, they have started distributed packs of red chili powder to the girls with a message on it. The message read that if you don't have a boyfriend like Avdesh, then this is a must for you. As per the instructions, the girls can throw the powder into the eyes of any man trying to misbehave with them. Madhok was quoted saying that it is their version of pepper spray.

In fact, the campaign is going great in some cities and it has most probably hurt the male egos and they tried to create disruption in the activity of the channel!
