I was talking with the healthy mind point of view. :D.

@nisha - that is what I too meant if the person is worthy and emotions are involved. not with anyone just for the sake of it. marriage is the institute of sanctity and most boys and girls want to enter it with sanctity. like u said wait for the right person and right time and spend the precious school and college years towards building a better career and life, than get involved in matters like like this. I took the topic offtrack with my post 😆. let me stick to the after effects of this scandal.

Yeah we went completely off track but then still things to ponder about.
Anyway the more we will think about it, the more we will be seeing differently.
Lets stick to our message which was there is a right time for everything :D

I don't know how they could have overcome it. When they do something like this, it becomes a part of life forever. You can run from it, but you can't hide from it.

ditto!!, when the girl says what is the big deal, she had no idea how big a deal it is going to be on the future

I agree so much with you. I may live in a Western culture, but I'm Indian by heart. Up to a boyfriend, I'll accept, but not sex before marriage. That is completely out of the question.

Exactly. It's like Karan pointed out, what she thinks isn't a big deal, is a very big deal. And it's also a big deal on her future like shown in the end.

Honestly speaking, if I met a guy who had made an mms of a girl he was with and distributed it to the world, or played part in the distribution, I would not be able to associate with him, because I'd be so disgusted with what he did.

I think the reason why he changed his identity was solely because he wanted to burn his past. Wanted to start on a fresh slate. However that meant that he missed out on the opportunities that he had before the mms scandal.

I think the girl's situation was pretty realistically described. What's the one thing every parent wants for their daughter? A good house for her to get married into. Of course career and success are a huge part in their dream for their children, but usually they want to see their children settle down with good families and spouses.
Now coming to the Indian society, I think what Anjali's parents feared was that she would not find a good rishta since lot of mothers would not have let Anjali marry their son if they knew that an MMS of her having sex was distributed across the whole world. So they took her away from the place, and got her married off early just to put everything behind them. I am not saying she was forced into the marriage, but maybe Anjali felt so vulnerable after the incident that she thought that marriage was the next step in her life.

Obviously, being the smart, genius student she was, she certainly did not envision herself to be married and a mother of 2 by 25. But after the scandal, that's how she ended up.

One thing I disagreed with in your post was that you insinuated that Anjali was at fault. I think she was more a victim than at fault. She trust Arpit, she was disgusted with how he showed his friends her video, and she was shocked and hurt at how it was distributed. She did not press the send button. She just loved a guy she thought loved her back.

Arpit may be a small victim in this as well - and i probably may have sympathised with him, if he hadn't firstly, had sex with the girl just to prove to his friends, and then sent the video to his friends out of spite.

Anyway, I am just happy that the two individuals were strong enough to continue on with their life and not end it after such an incident.

obviously, being the smart, genius student she was, she certainly did not envision herself to be married and a mother of 2 by 25. But after the scandal, that's how she ended up.

She just loved a guy she thought loved her back. --- I still say she was wrong. She let himm have his way, if they were just having sex letting him make a video of it , she is equally to be blamed. She is not the only victim or culprit. If arpit distributed the video he did it out of ego and that put him a little above her in the whole thing, as in the scandal, but she is not innocent either. If she was mature enough to have a make out session in the school, she should have known she should not let herself get taped. his reason to record was so that he can watch it later when he remembers her, that should have been a warning bell for her.

Arpit may be a small victim in this as well - and i probably may have sympathised with him, if he hadn't firstly, had sex with the girl just to prove to his friends, and then sent the video to his friends out of spite.

it was good to read your pov. 😊

sorry for reviving an old topic... but i just watched this episode...
first of all, i believe there are certain facts altered in the show...
this scandal was from 2004... I remember the girl's name was Antara... and she was 16 back then... which makes her 24 now... and not 25...
Secondly, I remember very well... both the girl and the boy moved abroad... and not to a small city, as stated in the show
