@shreya...it sounds filmy but he was obssessed with akansha so all he want was the girl...sense gaya tel lene..

And he didn't even accept her "no". He was so obsessed he thought her "no" was a scared "no" because of different castes.

i find that part stupid..just because she danced with him n smiled occassionly how can he assume like that..his friends were like fuel in fire

Exactly. Even his friends didn't understand everything.

Does it mean that now girls can't even dance with someone for the sake of it and because they enjoy it?

Not every one sided love can be called as obsession! He wasnt obsessed..as TC rightly put..Rape was neither out of lust nor a revenge..It was for "love" , a misconception. And the actors n the script was good enough in portraying the feelings of the guy/s they were that naive.. And it's natural considering that they were young village boys(1995).. They could've been influenced by films too.. not realizing reality is nothing like the 'always happily ever after' for every love story.. It is natural for them to think that probably she was interested in him for the dance she shared and the smile she returned.. But her 'No' was a NO. How hard was that to understand? The boy really got selfish! Blame it on his stupid friends too!
