Jzee🤗this was great.I love this song so very much.Perfect for Kesar, his junoon and his complex emotions for Gulaal.I loved all the scenes that you used.Every scene portraying different emotions of Kesar😳 but my fav is the way you used the intro scene and the mandir scene for the line "tujhe pehli baar main milta hoon har dafaa"-I loved that. The photo wala scene comes a close second and all the sepia scenes towards the end were great.I loved it a lot.
oh I also loved the scene where Kesar screams out Gulaal's name.I am glad you used that one.one of my personal favs.Editing was great...why were you worried? It was beautiful🤗I keep watching "baanwra mann" every once in a while. It never fails to bring a smile to my face😊So Please do make more VMs.I am missing them😭
Jzee, This one is just superb! Have to say that this song absolutely suits Kesar. Your choice of scenes were perfect, I loved watching it!!! 😊

The song is perfect for Kesar! Loved the scene sync wid the lyrics but some parts were really addictive, especially the chunar urning and the ending scenes in black and white with the song, i hav lost count how many tyms I rewinded to these particular parts, superb!👏

as you told kesar is once in life time character...i just cant move on ...always stuck with him...no new show is helping me to get out of kesar..
Hiba 🤗 Thank you for the quick and lovely comment! The song screams KESAR - there's no mistaking the stamp! In the middle of watching the movie - and mind you, I liked it a ton for several reasons which were not fangirly about Ranbir at all! - I could see Kesar in every line of the lyrics!
ps: You should totally make your version of it still! Each to their own interpretation of the lines!!! 👍🏼btw - I was meaning to ask you, did I manage to complete your list of requested scene uploads, or are there any I missed?! Leme know on that thread if I did, kay?! Of the top of my head, I think I did them all.
Thanks Prachu - long time no see! 🤗For the 543652578432364917940821 time, yes, this song is all about Kesar. If I had anymore patience - and could have extended my long lunch break longer - I would have tried doing the whole thing, but I just got so impatient with the editing, so, well. Glad you enjoyed it nonetheless. And thanks for pointing out the favorite scenes. As I said to Mini - always good to know which bits worked best for a viewer - and especially to contrast with my personal "like bits" 😳Thanks again for viewing and dropping by Prachu - you need to be here more often! And maybe write another FF?! ... how's college?!

Meri bebasi ka bayan hai
So I particularly chose that letter scene for this line, because the letter was his "bayaan" of the "bebasi" in wanting to hate her, never managing to, and knwoing neither why he had to hate her, nor why he could not! (- damn, I wrote that sentence with four tier negations, now I sound like dear Mr. Cooper. 😆 )
Aur mile
Hum aur bhi jal jaaye
So I chose this scene because this is where Kesar at least transcends some already limitless boundaries in the GK bond. The "aur mile" is symbolic of how Kesar learns the full and final truth about GUlaal - comes to a revelation about her, which goes beyond her own admission or understanding. It is symbolic to me of Kesar crossing over to the other side - fully, and in complete comprehension and in complete awareness of facts and feelings this time - crosses over to discover the nirvana like truth, where he figures the only way to ever fulfill his love is to let it go - symbolic of the "aur bhi jal jaaye" - because this really burns the last of his boats!
Keep it up!! And btw have you heard the song O saiyaan and abhi mujh mei kahi of Agneepath? The former fits perfectly from Gulaal's pov as it speaks of a woman who lost everything but then someone came in her life and gave her a reason to live again to be happy once again and the latter is perfect for Kesar! hope you liked the review and i hope it makes sense
love
Hiba
Thank you, thank you so much, and all over again Hiba - you really outdid any expectations for takes or replies on any VM I ever made, sigh! I feel short of words to say it! ☺️ Yes, I've not only heard the song, but already seen the movie (and liked it a ton for the most) - I did think of that song partially... but could find myself imagining how to fill the space of that beautiful haunting music in between with fitting scenes enough... Lyrics are easier to do in general - the only time I did instrumental with KHNH heartbeat - it took me forever and ever, and more ever! 😆 I'd love to see someone else take that song though - someone who is half more patient than I am - i didn't even finish this one, when I was twitching to get to it 😆

Jzee 🤗 oh i am hardly done with my comment here, i have a tendency of writing essay's on vm's and this was hardly anything😆 Apart from Nargis and weak editing that caused the story to be all over the place in most parts i loved the film and it was mostly because of the general idea behind the film that made me like it.. oh and the end of the film!! That was a killer *thud* How his love that give her life was also the one that took her life in the end If only Imatiaz had directed it with more finesse like jab we met it would have been amazing!OMG - WORD to all that about Rockstar Hiba. I turned blinders to Nargis - because she was an epic fail like that. And yes Imtiaz has proven to be a better director and editor in the past - but the story line, just the concept and the story underneath, the making of the mind of an artist, the drive, the insanity - the insatiability! Ranbir Kapoor outdid himself so many times over - I've grown to admit he's not the star kid with an advantage he was in Saawariya with his recent movies - but with Rockstar he entered a brand new league. One of his own kind. The movie haunts me with how abstractly yet explicitly it grows inside the mind of an artist ... the most hitting dialogues of all was the scene where he tells his ever faithful canteen wala guardian how he has everything he was looking for all his life, and he can find peace anymore, He's not happy. He doesn't want to be so lost and aimless and reckless - but he can't help it. he doesn't know where he's headed anymore - the disillusionment was so real at that point, and the way it keeps growing like a dark abyss - and the way he gets closer and closer to being an artist consumed by a fiery passion that reflects in his art when he;s no longer consciously trying for it to be so... ! Sigh. Rockstar was a phenomenal concept. I wish they'd polished and packaged it better (don't even start me on Nargis) but the theme itself is far too underrated. And if anything - the music takes it soaring to a place and point untouched! There's "moh" and "moksha" in equal measure in the music of this film - it just gets to you like that!ps: leme know whichever scene it was I missed, yeh?pps: I know the second interpretation you talk about. Doesn;t apply to Kesar in the direct sense - but yes, yes, very much the other side of the song, and powerfully so! Not in the carnal sense either - strangely for the ferocity of passion here - but the death wish of being able to hold on, physically, to elicit that response!!!
