Mini, I don't know why you feel that this will be a let-down, the entire chapter was beautifully penned down, I didn't feel a single thing out of place or I would have wanted it any other way…I loved it and a big hug for putting it down so simply and elegantly…
Starting with her new found confidence of dealing with anything, the strength she feels within by merely associating herself with Kesar's name, there is no hesitancy or even a moment of doubt in her decision-this was perfectly conveyed through her thought process and then Vasant's graciousness of removing that engagement ring and getting her to do the same cementing the end of relationship that never was…Ahh very subtle without any drama loved it
And then the para where you describe Kesar and the missing warmth through Gulaal's eyes about his existence in name only, going through motion of breathing without any feeling as if his guitar was playing the tune but was not in sync with his soul, something only she could have recognized and did,I am so happy that you didn't show Kesar trying to put up an act just for the sake of his band members of being happy and chirpy with all the happiness in the world for camera sake, that would have been against his character anyways, his face was always mirror to his heart na, am gald you retained it,so nice of Neha to come to his defence when needed a true friend indeed just like Bulbul is to Gulaal,w/o saying a word she knew what was going on in her friend's life, that how friends are you don't need to explicitly state anything to them…
Her anxiety, nervousness and excitement to see him, to meet him and to tell him what he wanted to hear had engulfed her completely na, the moment she hears that familiar tune it was just her and him without a care or concern about the surrounding loved the description of the atmosphere
And the song, wow that was such a moving song and the way you have described his reaction while singing it and her reaction listening to it aww..just awesome, the description so vivid and clear that you could visualise the entire sequence, loved her unintentional walking towards front of the stage and his reaction of jumping and running straight to her, and the reaction of both when they were finally in front of each other, perfect, no need of words here their tears and smiles said it all
Kesar's happiness bubble as you call it was so wonderfully written,again the scene coming alive and also the next moment of his backing off realising how the excitement may just be short lived ahh you broke my heart there Mini,Gulaal's monologue wow,each and every word she said was so true,he shouldn't have walked away even though she left him no choice and no one could make her understand what she had difficulty realizing but her Kesar sigh!
And finally the confession from her,and his acceptance of his share of blame,aww very romantic and touching,awesome and wonderful each and every moment of that confession was kind of making you go with the flow of the story felt as if you were there with these two smiling and crying with them
