@Talli-Gulaal scene.. very sweet one..Firstly, for Talli to remember to question her likes and dislikes after observing Gulaal at breakfast. Kinda reminded me of the scenes from Runaway Bride..something where Julia's character doesn't really know what kind of eggs she actually likes to eat..manages to adjust tastes depending on her boyfriend. Oh that's a lovely movie😆...and yes that was a very interesting character trait...showed how insecure in a sense Julia's character was that she was constantly moulding her choices to match those of her fiances/boyfriends...

Here Gulaal has been living according to everyone's likes for too long and makes it her liking as well. She doesn't give herself any attention pretty contrasting to what she was before Vasant's death. She's living for others than for herself..for 10yrs now..a very monotonous life Exactly...and the most interesting note to me in this scene is that you can see her expressing her wistfulness subconsciously...she may say that 'yeh ghar hi meri duniya hai' and she'll say it with a smile on her face but it's a sad smile...it's not a convincing smile...you can see that in some corner of her heart, she yearns to LIVE again...but again and again she shuts away that part of her heart...her sad smiles, the lingering yearning in her eyes say the truth though...and it's amazing that Talli kinda sets the ball rolling after this scene wanting to give Gulaal those moments of LIFE, JOY, LAUGHTER...but ultimately this is Kesar's greatest mission in life that he jumps into with full gusto once he finds out the answers he'd been looking for😆

@MB-Gulaal scene.. Gulaal thinking fondly of Kesar..sweet stuff.. the use of the imlis in this scene is interesting...as if she is holding on to these little moments of happiness that somehow remain shortlived in her life..as the Imli's fall on the floor...and when she tries to pick up the pieces she doesn't really know if she can build a dream where in there is nothing but happiness, where all her desires can be fulfilled..the uncertainty is too much. Beautifully put...that's exactly it...it's on this vague level where they don't say anything overtly but it's the way the scene has been shot...the symbolism of the fallen imlis that she's gathering now...gathering pieces of what seems like a hopelessly broken dream...there is uncertainty as you said.

Like many of you mention how alike Kesar and Gulaal are...here too its funny how MB asks both of them in a span of couple of days what their future plans are..and both of them have no real concrete answers to that...they tend to compartmentalize everything,.for now he has an agenda against Gulaal, and for now she has her mind fixated on getting Kesar getting married to Talli. Oh wow brilliant point! I never thought about that before😆...it's crazyyy how alike these two are...even when you don't realize it...LOL...yeah they both have blinders on in a sense...don't think long term...Gulaal did this many times...at this point in the story, it was her fixation with getting KT married and later on during the 3 month trial period also she said the same to MB...that she hasn't thought long term...amazing😆...Kesar ka toh always one track mind hi tha...revolving around Gulaal...😆...He never had any other plans in life😆

----

On another note, I found Gulaal's dialogues in this scene interesting...what she mentions in regards to the KT marriage..."Talli Kesar ko khush rakhegi...uska khayaal rakhegi...woh hum-umr hain etc. etc."...I found it interesting that she is convinced that Talli will be good for Kesar but never once paused to wonder what KESAR will feel regarding Talli...no thoughts about whether he will keep Talli happy?? Interesting word choice there I thought...and I sensed almost a desperation in her pushing this case while trying to convince MB...as if she's trying to make it sound right cuz she decided it ages ago but all her points on it weren't very clear if she ever paused to think them through.

😆LOL you like it? I was wondering if it was too short but yeah that's all I could think of regarding today's scenes especially the Gulaal ones with the imli, MB, and with Talli in the end. *high fives for thinking alike then!* lol

*Edit: My bad...fixed the order of the vids now😆

*reserved for caps*

---------------------

Caps batch 1:

So first we start off with Kesar being a good boy😆...all pampering his mother...awww😆The scenes between them always used to convey the love between mother and son.so sweet.

*sigh* I miss the original PBWhy did she leave? The last few episodes would have had a very diff flavour if she had been acting instead of the alien.Remember the scene after the KT engagement when she got angry with Gulaal for keeping her in the dark about KT,she expressed her hurt and anger in such a way that we could relate to her.she was good.

Then she mentions Gulaal and Kesar ki tune change...back to budtameez mode😆the change in expression😆

"Kesar!"...haha I love the daantne wala look PB gives him here...the look that says, 'you better come on line, boy...warna!"😆a wonderful MIL

And then arrives the star of the scene...our favorite evil cupid😆as i said rockstar.a fab actress and a powerful character.

The PATNI word...and everyone freezes😆why the face...later taras jaoge woh word sunane ko buddhu😆

JK continues to lagaao mirchi😆

Gulaal maaroes an entry...I loved this shot...the camera angle they used I loved his expression here.lot of emotions on his face and anger is definitely not one of them.surprise, shock confusion yes but not anger.

JK continues with her not so subtle digs about patni, duties etc. etc.😆...and K and G are squirming in their own ways she could always be trusted to do the needful.and GK and other family members really needed these kinds of jhatkas at regular intervals👏

Kesar's had enough and it's time to leave now...do minute pehle he was like 'work doesn't matter...I'll take care of you, PB' and ab "Main karkhaane jaa raha hoon" waah beta😆so funny😆

Ofcourse before leaving there has to be a set of intense looks exchanged😆my fav part of the scene.

Gulaal's like woahh there, dude😆well what else could he do?not able to intimidate the great Galool with hexes and glares so had to do something.bechara😃

Lovely caps Nur.they make the post come alive. Thanks a lot.

Regarding this bit...Gulaal would never have left the house during this angry Kesar phase cuz she could literally handle his worst barbs or any attack from him...what she couldn't handle was him confessing his LOVE for her😆...amazing paradox...his love for her was what scared her beyond anything...this woman who was otherwise fearless about most things literally ran back to her maayka when confronted with the reality of Kesar's feelings for her. that's so true she was so scared of his love.she started distancing herself from him the minute she got an inkling of his feelings.

But in a hypothetical scenario...if she had left the house during this phase, Kesar would have found some flimsy excuse or the other to go to her house...on the pretext of 'visiting Reva' or anything...that's what I'd bet on😆I would have loved to see such a scene on the show.😆

someone had mentioned once that Kesar was always last in her list of priorities alongside her cause she considered him as her own.maybe that applies.or maybe she might be feeling a tad bit guilty in front of MB of maybe ruining Kesar's life and trying to list out the points which would make KT alliance a good thing for Kesar.

Scene 1

The tone in which this scene begins - with Kesar being all cute mother's boy, is insinuating on a few fronts. He's just gotten out of that cast-in-a-spell chatt moment with Gulaal, thereafter getting a brief but bull's eye reality doze from her. The sight of him even in the distance from the window of the room where the camera has closed up far more on PB - is the sight of a ruffled Kesar, hastening his way through a corridors, the restless air about his body language. And then his own gaze finds his mother - if a second ago he had no idea where he was going, preoccupied by the scene before - now he firmly walks right in, pulls on the little boy act and the grown up responsible son as well - all at once. Sulking why PB didn't call him to do the oil massage (even as sulking is Gullu's trademark 😆 ) and reminding her that her son is back. To me, there were underlying, albeit very subtle nuances , of how Kesar, perturbed beyond solace by his encounter with Gulaal manages to find this unquestioning, unconditional solace in his mother. He's offering to help her, but really, this is such a good distraction to take a break from the disturbing effect of the 'collision' and calm himself down so he can think straight again! A second time that he manages to find this comfort in his mother - after the other time when he physically shoved Gulaal and gave her some very cutting comments, before walking into the kitchen weighed down by the entire thing, until PB's affection eased the heaviness.
never thought of it in this way and it's so true.trying to go back to that old familiarity which was rudely shaken by that beautiful moment with Gullu.😆
Now too, PB's motherly love shines through her eyes at Kesar's 'son acts' and Kesar readily, willingly, unknown to him even hungrily, basks in that warmth pushing the other problem aside. Not long enough. PB - such a difference from her character in the final moth or so - a mother in all sense despite feeling so touched by her son's gesture, doesn't forget to question him about his latest escapade.
seriously the final scenes with the original PB would have been so beautiful instead we got a two dimensional typical MIL who accused her beloved Gulaal of having an affair with Dushyant.whereas in a previous episode she had scolded Kesar for even thinking about it.
And Kesar, with but a momentary time out on the tense situation stiffens immediately, at the mention of her name, Gulaal. To PB's obvious question, he grunts away a zaruri nahin samjha, and PB's partly incredulous and partly further reproaching reaction is but deserved. Kesar tries to gruffly argue his point and settle the debate once and for all again, with itne durr nahin rehte uske gharwale - but PB has not been blinded by the smoke of a decade that hinders Kesar's vision, logic, or arguments. So she shoots right back, the difference of a village and a city - pointing out not just the latest mistake, but indirectly also hinting to Kesar to not forget the ways of his real roots, merely because he's been away for a decade! Adds Gulaal's sacrifice for the house, which, as a reminder of Gulaal's goodness always does, has Kesar's eyes showing touch of remorse and doubt and inner fight - and to that (a partly indignant Kesar who believes he knows more than PB does and a partly grumpy Kesar at his futility to find even temporary break from 'Gulaal' - the good and bad and confusing in between of her) says the most un-Kesar thing he can - to kya sabke ehsaano ka bdala main chukaunga? There could be so many ways to interpret this, but to anyone who doesn't know better, you could almost translate it to figuratively imply his DV with Gulaal is the family's trade off for her sacrifice! Because its the 'husband' duty he has fallen short of, and deemed unnecessary, even an obligation in repayment to her 'ehsaan'.
PB, rightly offended, gives him a sharp Kesar! here - only to be interrupted by JK. The irony of JK envying PB's luck for a son like Kesar and a DIL like Gulaal - when the son is just being reprimanded for failing responsibility and the DIL, officially, doesn't deem herself 'DIL' - with regard to Kesar anyway! JK the evil but ever obliging matchmaker, manages to say everything icky that has Kesar finding more cause to be uneasy - after that shocking intimacy moments ago, the whole she's your wife and you're her husband being shoved down his throat is obviously not helping, especially when he needs to re-gather his focus of hating Gulaal - and then to top the awkward situation that JK is such an expert at creating, in walks the dutiful patni aka bahu aka lady who spells trouble 😆 And Kesar, with the way he almost starts at her entry, is definitely not prepared for more of this hubby wifey talk in her presence, no more after that charged chatt scene. The way they eyes clash, and avert in tandem - is indication of how not prepared Gulaal herself is. But for the chai in her hands, you can imagine her tugging at her pallu 😆 and Kesar, well, this is really his first meet her eye moment again, after that caught in a trance moment on the chatt. He's fidgety, uneasy, not in a state to deal with this closing in on him from all ends awkward situation. So he does, what he's been doing best these last few days. Excuses himself (formerly because the alter presence so demands) to walk away. Not before he comes face to face up close with her, the two have another charged eye-talk, Kesar looking ever so disturbed, almost like he expects for a second to find a comforting answer in her eyes; but there's so much conflict in his mind, so much confusion in Gulaal's own eyes from her incomprehension of his unpredictability - he pushes past her partly in haste to escape, and partly in covering up for all his lost 'cold act' upper hand - leaving her to at least momentarily look after him with a 'tries-to-be-discrete-in-vain' WTH expression!
if only he had known that one day he would long for the words pati, patni etc which he kept on repeatin in a few episodes too.😆

Scene 2

I love this scene. A rare one, minus Kesar, full on Talli - but Mansi is magic here. The melancholy in her is inescapable. Speaking only for myself - and this may be surprising to some people - this is the only poignant Mansi/Gulaal scene that actually makes me misty eyed. The real sad stuff, is just intense to me, gripping, the kind I stare at like I've dissolve into the screen - but this one... is just different. The entire oblivion of Gulaal to what she has done to herself is disturbing to me far more, even, than the time, when say Kesar is being ridiculous to her, or even when she becomes a fallen angel. What anyone else does to her - anyone including Kesar, is one thing. What she has done to herself, in such a slow and unknowing but steady manner over the decade, is another. When she tells Talli kuch thik se yaad bhi nahi hai in response to naming some favorite - its worse that she's telling the truth. So far and deep inside has she buried the real Gulaal, that she no longer remains consciously aware of that existence. And interestingly, all the things that she lists as having liked sum up to one simple sentence - what I like most about life, is living it. And that's exactly what she has ceased to do in a decade - she has quit living life. She's only leading her days now. One after the other, like a wall clock that ticks away second after second, living time like an eternity, but in a way of a mechanical duty - not realizing the eminence of those seconds ticking away. As she recounts one thing after the other that she once liked so much (notice the past tense she employs) there is an unreal shine in her eyes, like she's having vivid visions of that time, and like a part of her brain has transported her back to that glorious lively past, but a part of her is just in this brief timeless spell of a sort - so she's not narrating in an animated manner, but in a dreamy fashion - like she'd sleep talk through her happy dream! Until, she wakes up. Just before she says ab to mujhe ye ghar he pasand hai - she takes those couple seconds to compose herself, almost like she was possessed by a spirit that she needs to shake off, get back the current day Gulaal into her body - and speak in accordance. The shine disappears. The smile widens in such a heart wrenching manner, you want to wipe it off, because its such a mockery of reality! To Gulaal, she has just snapped out of a 'dream' and descended back to reality. But to a viewer, she has just snapped out of her real person, to wear the mask of a substitute Gulaal and regain her dutiful limbo again. Mildly she chides Talli to have distracted her with redundant chatting, excuses herself to sleep - but a tiny part of her heart knows what was briefly awakened inside her, another tiny part knows she's running away from this awakening lest it begins to gain blood and overpower her resolve, and the most part of her, is just back to abiding by her robotic head and its mundane instructions. Mansi goes beyond herself in this scene. 👏 If I was going to rate her solo performance on this show - this might be my favorite scene. And can I dare to say, I'm ever so glad Kesar never gets to eavesdrop on this chat just here. A part of me is craving he would see her talking like this, and jolt out of his ridiculous grudge, but a part of me knows and appreciates, and roots for the reality of how things are, how not every time one laments a loss - even with a smile on the face - is an angel sitting ready with a wand to fix it!
at that time i too wanted him to hear but now i feel it's better this way cause he realized her loneliness and unhappiness on his own and went about trying to make her happy.oh such a beautiful love story.so much to talk about in every scene and something new everytime

Nur - 🤗 🤗 🤗 - for the beautiful caps! Three equally amazing scenes to cap, in fact, the 'GK' scene might have been last on the list. Mansi by herself in the other two scenes was like every second worth a cap! 👏

My favorites -

^^ So much spoken in this look. Kesar is really in a fix. He entered his mother's presence to run away from the hold Gulaal cast on him - only to find himself back in the mire, and far worse! He looks at her here, just that brief moment before making another futile escape - like he wants a solution to this conundrum she poses in his life, like he wants her to walk out of hi life without looking back and at the same time be right here, snap her fingers and fix this mess for him! There's almost an exhausted kind of imploring tinge to his look - like why and when did this become so hard between us Gulaal?

And Gulaal's own look back, wary, even suspicious and heavily on guard. She's had her share of public rebuffs to not put one more past him now; if only she could put aside her apprehension for a moment, she would see his eyes are not the cold daring glint atm, but the rare momentary seeking kind, even if in agitation - but she's solely focused on trying to guess ahead of time what he might say or do - and Kesar in the meanwhile agitated further at no help, pushes past her - shocking her yet again, and proving her apprehensions right. Another public rebuff.

^^ This transition is heart breaking. As I said in my written, in her opinion Gulaal may have snapped from her forbidden dream mode to the more mundane reality; but truly, she has snapped from a moment of having regained her real person, to this limbo like existence she has created for herself. In a way, she has snapped out of what she 'really is/was/is meant to be' to what she has obliged herself to become!

^^ And this still - that I went on and on about in my written! How well captured is Gulaa's present in the form of those imlis, the future she chooses to remain oblivious of in the form of her reflection in the mirror, and the past which shall always linger in some essence, in the form of that frame. The harmonious co-existence of the 3 sections of her life.

^^ Absoloutely Maz! He was jittery in a restless way. He'd found that brief moment of comforting distraction in his mother's affection, but it was gone in a snap the second she mentioned Gulaal - here he is trying hard to run away from her, take a break so he can calm down and think straight - but the woman, her name, her essence won't let him be! He ends up saying things unreal to him - because he's so desperate to get this Gulaal talk over with, to have a break from it all!

Hail JK! 😆with her new mission to unite GK!..excessive use of the words, pati, patni, bahu, saas..and Kesar is shaken there..not like he doesn't know, but as we always say they don't like to be bound by such tags..it just makes it awkward each time.

LOL - Mini just pointed out how in contrast this is to later times when Kesar yearns for the validation of that bond, those tags - the whole pati patni deal! Just here though, sure, after that inexplicable encounter on the chatt, the last thing he needs is pati and patni teasers 😆 Bichara is this far from going chiii at JK's loudmouth 😆

What an apt comparison Maz, I'd never have recalled 👏 How true, and then one compares it with what the original Gulaal introduced on this show was like, its just gets incredibly exhausting to imagine what she has done to herself! From being a girl so much in love with herself, to someone who is not even last on her own list - Gulaal has really wiped away her own name from the chart of 'people' in her life.

Like many of you mention how alike Kesar and Gulaal are...here too its funny how MB asks both of them in a span of couple of days what their future plans are..and both of them have no real concrete answers to that...they tend to compartmentalize everything,.for now he has an agenda against Gulaal, and for now she has her mind fixated on getting Kesar getting married to Talli.

very well said Maz (in bold) 👏 I think when MB looks at her in the end, then puts that hand on her head - he's only thinking, or wondering rather, when and how long before Gulaal really understands what she changed by taking that DV decision! She proposes this alliance here, and to MB, she has only found her brand new means to add distraction and clause to cast away the crux of the DV and its eminence! He wonders, sadly, when she will become capable of confronting this matter, calling a spade, a spade. And as if he prays his blessing will bestow her with that wisdom, he pats her head...
