That's what I love about them the most...😆...that SPECIAL treatment...whether good or bad...it's only for each other...more so in Kesar's case cuz his world has always revolved around her only...so it doesn't matter if he's taunting her, lashing out at her or showing affection, a softer side...it's always HER that everything revolves around and there is usually this EDGE to every scene...it was very much there in these earlier phases ofcourse when Kesar's turmoil was at it's peak but even post the confession, panchayat etc. when things settled a bit...somehow there was always an EDGE to them...it comes from that stubborn, headstrong aspect to their personalities I guess...and that is what makes them fascinating to watch.

Nur - I love your captions - always 🤣 The hands off my stuff and kisi ki cheezein like I said in my post unexceptionally sets me off grinning and shaking head at Kesar! He's a kid even when he's pulling the scare bomb! But for the fire flashing in his eyes every instance now and then - his temper and mood is easy to trace back to his kid version! Some things never change 😆

Gulaal is almost amused at him

Exactly! I think there is a flickering nano second of debate to feeling hurt by his curt manner, but she takes no time brushing it off as elemental Kesar - nakhre karke bada na banta fire, to Kesuda kaisa! 😆

Sirf Rohan? <--- this was classic! Kesar is such a boy when he chooses to remain tight lipped and strictly gauging only, but can't help butt in with his in your face statements! Matlab, ghuma firaakar baat karna to aata hi nahi, bas seedhe de maaro! 😆 The 'aur tu' in that sense, is something atypical and unique of Kesar. When we've seen those countless couples where this 'and you' moment goes unspoken - sometimes in a cheesy way, sometimes in poignant ways - Kesar will say it, just like that.

Ofcourse not...Gulaal has to list out the rest of the family in sequence...MB, PB, Reva, Devika, Talli, the cows...:P

(include Talli in the cows. For good measure. Her smiles in the Puja made me gag, I'm not even kidding - but Reemz gets to deal with that part tomorrow 😆 )

And she transitions to that "dhatt" to make it a bit flippant but you can see her hurt shining in her eyes

I LOVE this cap! Mansi is phenomenal here - one of her best sulky/admonishing looks ever! She is a kid and an adult all at once!

I find this bit fascinating for how closely Kesar is watching every expression on her face as she doesn't look at him for a bit and turns away but still you can sense how closely he's listening to every cadence in her tone almost as if he can SEE the tears even as she tries to hide them... <---- 👏 Word Nur!

And awww! I love this one! I love the way he can't help that hint of a smile and her in vain discrete wiping of tear! This is truly an early rare glimpse of the Kesar we will see much later - where he has an edge over Gulaal. Just for this second - he's that Kesar from post reform times, when he could sense and tell the slightest variation in Gulaal, know her subtlest nuances like the back of his hand! I like to think there is a fond emotion to this hint of expression on his face - again, like the Kesar we see in post reform time.

And Gulaal's fumbles and fidgeting - new traits from this decade that he has not seen her. He could have read 'suspicion' into her 'nervous' gestures, but I think for the seconds that her back is on him, he's only feeling fond - and continues to be studying of her slightest changes of course!

And I will kill Talli! 😡 And Gulaal for making her sit with them!

@JZephyr Well written post and great caps Nureat! 😊

Interestingly, the one time after his return when she's actually freely all 'touching' him up and about - the opening GK scene we did yesterday - Kesar is also completely swept by the emotion and its overwhelming impact - the death glares and frosty looks he's practiced so well go for a toss - and that one time remains so unique to all the time after his return. Gulaal is never again seen so openly 'mollycoddling' him - and Kesar's tolerance takes a steep dip of course!

Oh she just has to - Kesar is really the only person in her life she sulks with! And when you compare that with the original Gulaal Vasant met, who could sulk right left center and throw her weight around and what not - as Srushti said, she loved herself tons! 😆 The entire I-me-myself assurance she held about herself so strongly has been replaced by this nature where she puts herself last, every where, for everything. And amazingly, Kesar - who is so set out at this point to serve her ace after ace of pain, can innately not deal with Gulaal being last. The 'special' treatment is always reserved for Gulaal - good and bad.

Oh so true!! The orignal Gulaal loved herself so much, she was so sure of herself and did whatever SHE WANTED to do and even though Kesar may have seen little of that side, it was enough to be embedded in his mind that this is the real Gulaal...the one who lives life like it should be lived.
Gulaal put Vasant's dream up on this pedestal which ironically put her at the bottom of the barrel alongside Kesar. Though it may have aggravated fans when Gulaal used to put the family before Kesar, to me it was always a right she assumed over him without even realising. So if she belittled him, it was because of the lack of importance she gave herself. While Kesar always put Gulaal on top of his list even if it meant he was at the bottom of hers. What an equation they shared!!

I think he does it ever more so cuz of his guilt conscience over the letters...They're his guilty little secret that he hides from the world and ESPECIALLY from Gulaal...how can he ever let her know just HOW much he too has suffered in all these years being away from her? So he too I feel masks with that almost kiddish tantrum of 'don't touch my stuff'...but he's honestly trying to find his own balance in some form around her it seems..... He's a kid even when he's pulling the scare bomb! But for the fire flashing in his eyes every instance now and then - his temper and mood is easy to trace back to his kid version! Some things never change 😆 LOL true...that GUSSA was very much a part of his personality since day one...I mean how can we forget that he greeted Gulaal by throwing a stone at her head?😆

Awesome post as always JZ!...Nice comments to go with the caps Nur!..😆 esp about her sequence of the family...she does that a lot doesn't she..lol

Kesar's reiterating the fact that she sent him away to boarding school does have that double meaning of how his discovery of her well kept secret about Dushyant was actually what drove him away from her(literally as well as that connection of trust and understanding which sort of broke), and what really made him agree to Motabha's decision..

Again when he comes down wearing the different Kurta and utters words like he is mature enough to make his own decisions, it's him trying to say that he's really not her responsibility..she doesn't need to take the effort to do anything for him..which is again a lovely contrast to what we will get to see many days later of him wanting her to take charge, arrange his room and give him that attention..

Nur...the Talli dream was cringeworthy.. thankfully we have a wonderful GK scene with the morchang(?) to erase the bad memories.. and yep she was a total bimbo...even in yesterday's scene..while everyone around were taken aback by Kesar's words and the coin toss thing..here she was randomly smiling away..

P.S the 'like' button aint working...but completely agree with all your views!..

Anyways, more on that in tomorrow's pooja scene post I guess...but yeah seriously Talli was smiling so VAPIDLY in many places...top floor ekdum khaali hai bandi ki😆

All this Gulaal discussion really makes me just want to rewatch all their scenes (which will really just turn into rewatching all the episodes) from Kesar's entry in April.. But I know if I start, I won't stop and I just can't do that at the moment.. *sigh* So instead I silently lurk and thoroughly enjoy the CAPs that you post Anu.. 🤗 I love them!

Fivray!🤗🤗🤗 I miss youuu! :((

It's ok yaar...the beauty of this show is that you can pick it up from any point anytime you want to...so watch when you have time.

Currently I'm jumping around all over the timeline myself...LOL...I'm watching these initial scenes to do caps for these posts and then I'm randomly watching the June phase and also other scenes that Zainu was watching during her catch-up session...and no joke...EVERY point in the story is so brilliant...you can feel and understand the viewpoint of the characters at every point in time...you can feel their emotions so deeply...these actors are just something else.

Oh Anu! I can't even begin to tell you how much I miss YOU! *udass muh* 😒

Upar sey you remember how I was initially missing LTL so much after it ended? With Gulaal, it's so much different. In this case I just miss being able to watch ANY Gulaal related scenes.. It's like BECAUSE the story was so brilliantly told, I miss being able to go back and rewatch the scenes.. I have been following your and Zainab's discussions too.. I mean bauhat detail mein nahi but I just skim through it.. And I know she's watched the pareshani scene and I see her using the "baat teri jo thie" wali sig.. And then the scenes here.. You're right.. EVERY point of the story is so amazing k I just sit there feeling this tidal wave of desire to just WATCH every scenes - for every discussion that I read/skim through! But then I just end up studying for molecular genetics instead.. 😆
