So yeh..I agree with Nur! LOL!

Bingo, Reemz...I totally second this...This is typical Gulaal...today I honestly felt as if I was back to feeling familiar with her character...this is exactly the reaction I'd expected from her.

Because Kesar has always been expressive about his love...always! Gulaal has always needed that push so IMO this is staying true to her character.

That love she has for Kesar is solely because of HIM and even if she is imagining Vasant's approval, it is still at the end of the day a fragment of her own imagination. It's not about seeking approval, it's Gulaal's inability to accept her own feelings without that push. We've seen that so many times before so it's not surprised me one bit frankly.

He is leaving for good...just pick up the phone and say bye bye. She has lived for everyone and I mean even Dushyant but she can't give something simple and basic like a final goodbye...He changed himself for her...she used to call him selfish and he completely changed...could she not put her fears or emotional turmoil aside for a couple of hours and go meet him?[/quote]

How do you make yourself bid goodbye to the last person you want to see leave your life?

If you've seen the final FRIENDS episode, you'll know what I'm on about. Rachel gives a personal goodbye to everyone except Ross and when he blasts her for not even having the decency to not even say bye, she explains how she cannot imagine saying it to him.

Reemz..how did Kesu get the courage to say goodbye??? Gulaal is much much more courageous than him but he found it in himself to go over, face her and say goodbye...difference is that he can't leave without seeing her one last time and she can let him go without seeing him one last time!

Exactly...Anjal, the answer to your WHY is right there...can it really be so simple as everyone telling her and she will accept? No, today she was battling herself...and honestly THAT is what makes for the emotional high point...Gulaal has ALWAYS been a headstrong/stubborn woman...she has NEVER given in easily...LEAST of all to her OWN emotions...she is TERRIFIED of facing her own emotions...that fear was STARK on her face today in my opinion.

The very fact that it is so difficult for her IS because this is KESAR...She easily brushed aside Dushyant and anyone else and moved on...but in the case of Kesar, she doesn't even have courage to speak with him?? Why?? BECAUSE what she feels for him terrifies her...and yet she keeps on yearning...the fact that she went to that house, the way her hands tried to hold on to his before he pulled out...all of this shows Gulaal's emotions today clearly.

And honestly this isn't a comparison of Kesar's love for Gulaal to hers for him...they will always be DIFFERENT...they will never be expressed in the same way either...today they showed all of Gulaal's emotions in NUANCES.

Kesar is far more courageous than Gulaal. Gulaal has put this courageous act for years when we all know how vulnerable she truly is. Isn't that what the past few months have been about? Peeling that onion which was refused to open up. Kesar has the courage to say goodbye because he has never denied his love while Gulaal has always closed up her emotions!

She needs constant push. Well all have pushed her in the right direction all this time. Why Vasant? I am reposting a portion of the Vasant's issue bothering me
What is the point in crying looking at him, what is stopping her?
Wonder who is going her to crown her for being the chaste wife to Vasant. No one. Not her parents, her wellwishers or her friends. Is it the issue of being virtuous and unblemished by being singularly devoted to her dead husband? Then she is no more because she does get conscious by his physical proximity and her mind is already filled with Kesar, Kesar and Kesar. Then what is stopping her.

I could see Gulaal's feelings for Kesar but her holding back is strange, even at this point she needs the DIVINE INTERVENTION OF VASANT to tell her to accept Kesar. And what if he did not turn up in her dreams?? She won't accept Kesar?

I am posting what I had written in the article thread:
How convenient...Divine intervention
If only such divine interventions can help make decisions in life.
They could have better introduced the theme of Bhavishya Vani or Ashapura Ma in her dreams, could have still been acceptable.
The inner thoughts of ones mind, the subconscience acceptance would be part of dreams through people you love. That is not the dead soul talking, its your own mind's decisions made at a subconscious level.
Still, Vasant was too strange and eerie as an option. Destiny happens, it is not spoonfed through such dreams. Such a let down. When a scene can't be convincingly portrayed through the situations at hand, very convenient to decide through divine intervention. Wish I had it in me to watch this fooling myself that it is a mythology.

Of course they are different Nur! They are not supposed to be the same but Kesar sure in hell does not deserve the pain and she knows she is the cause of this pain! He has decided to leave and go away and part of his decision is because he wants her to move forward as well. I keep saying this - she is selfless and strong but Kesar has always played second fiddle in her life. He had been trying to say goodbye to her...he was her backbone when the entire family threw her out...she could not put her emotional stuff on the backburner for once and go meet him?

I bet if she heard MB was leaving for good she would have been there i one jiffy knowing full well that Kesar would be around as well...

Bingo, Reemz!

I actually think we've come full circle now...Gulaal has ALWAYS internalized everything so she's had more to fear to be honest...I think Poonambaa's dialogue today was very meaningful...Kesar freed himself from everything when he realized for and confessed his love for her...he's always been open and expressive about what he feels...and that is what gives him the courage to even make the hardest of goodbyes.

Gulaal has courage for many other things...but when it comes to her own emotions...the truth of her own emotions, that courage evaporates in an instant...only KESAR has the power to make her this vulnerable and scared of even herself.

WORD! She couldn't even say goodbye on the phone and this was NOT out of any coldness or selfishness...or maybe it was the latter because for her own sake, she couldn't bid goodbye to him. It wasn't about being not bothered! It was about being TOO bothered...!

Anjal yaar, come on...if she went to go meet him, wouldn't that make things all too convenient?? I honestly think the fact that she couldn't even bear to meet him shows how rattled she is and that is what makes her emotions more profound.

Wouldn't it have been worse if she had coolly gone to meet him and behaved as she had at the pooja and then gone home to eat some elaichi toffees?

Does it not matter that today she wasn't INDIFFERENT...today she was an emotional wreck in many ways...I feel this is huge.
