Dear all ,
Thanks everyone for the amazing comments will be replying everyone shortly.
Well again here comes the Prologue to my next chappi
Har ki pauri haridwar
One of the most famous and most visited sites of Haridwar, Har ki Pauri is considered as one of its five main holy sites. It is believed to be the sacred place where Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, two great Hindu Gods, appeared in the Vedic era. This place is considered equivalent to the Dashashwamedh Ghat in Banaras, in religious terms. It is also said that Brahma, the Hindu God of Creation, performed a yagna at the Har ki Pauri. The ghat is also said to have the holy footprints of Lord Vishnu.
Har ki pauri is believed to be the exit point of the river Ganges from the mountains and its entry into the plains. A dip in the holy water of the ghat is said to relieve a person of all his sins. The place is surrounded by some ancient and some newly build temples. Throughout the year, religious rituals like 'upanayan' or the initiation ritual, 'mundan' or the head tonsuring ritual, 'asthi visarjan' or immersion of the ashes of the dead and 'shraddha' or prayers appeasing one's ancestors take place here.
Har ki pauri is always crowded with devotees and priests, offering prayers to the Sun God and the holy Ganges. This place is the perfect destination for people deeply in love with religion, philosophy and spiritualism. The auspicious fair of Hindus, the Kumbh mela, is held at Har ki Pauri, after every 3 years. This sacred ghat was built on the bank of Ganges, by King Vikramaditya, in the memory of his brother Bhartrihari. Har ki pauri is famous for Ganga Aarti, a holy ritual of offering prayers to the Ganges.
Ganga Aarti takes place on the ghat in the evening, after sunset. A group of Brahmans hold huge fire bowls in their hands and offer their holy mantras to river Ganges, Shiva - the Hindu God of destruction, Surya - the Sun God and the entire Universe. The devotees then offer flowers and earthen lamps - diyas - to river Ganges, in order to pay due regards to their ancestors in heaven. The scenario at Har ki pauri at the time of Ganga-Aarti is mesmerizing.
Har Ki Pauri is the place where the divine nectar fell from celestial Kumbh. The Kumbh mela is held here (last held in 1998, next in 2010). The holy river Ganga, enters Brahmakund from one side and exits from the other. Though the water here is around waist-high, one has to be very cautious while bathing on the Ghats since the flow is swift and speedy. Chains and rails have been provided to enable devotees to catch on safely while they take a holy dip. Famous temples - Ganga Mandir and Haricharan mandir are also located here.
Har Ki Pauri gets its name from the feet (Pauri) of lord (Hari). Vishnucharanpaduka, the footprints of the Lord, are believed to be imprinted on the wall beneath the waters of Ganga here and with the guidance of a priest, it is also possible to touch it.
Moti Bazaar
One of the best and busiest shopping areas in Haridwar, Moti Bazaar is situated between the Har-ki-Pauri and the Upper Road. To make your trip to Haridwar worthwhile, make sure you visit Moti Bazaar and shop for religious items such as Rudraksha or sacred beads, Gangajal or water of the holy Ganges stored in a container, precious stones for prosperity, and vermillion to name a few.
Images of deities, food offerings, sacred threads, pickles, and ayurvedic medicines are among the other items that can be purchased. The numbers of tiny shops lined along the streets are best explored on foot.
Kesar Gulaal's Hotel..The haveli hari ganga
The Haveli Hari Ganga happened in Haridwar in 1917.
" The haveli Hari ganga " is situated on the banks of the river Ganga a mere 300 metres walk through the bazaar from the sacred "Har Ki Pauri" at Haridwar. It stands at the gateway to the Devbhoomi - The abode of Gods and the "Chardham Yatra".
The Haveli originally built 90 years ago , is an architectuarl marvel , where the ancient structure has been restored to blend the old world charm with modern day hospitality, The interiors are interestingly reminiscent of old mythological times where there are balanced tones of tranquility and comfort.
Part 34
I am afraid to fall in love
"You can close your eyes to the things you do not want to see, but you cannot close your heart to the things you do not want to feel."
Har –Ki-Pauri- Haridwar..6:00pm
It was about time when the famous Ganga arti on the banks of the sacred river Ganga was about to take place.PB and Sf had decided to finally take a break and after visiting all the temples of haridwar it was time for them to see the beautiful arti at Har ki pauri.Gulaal seemed to be lost again. All her attention seemed to be on her own delimma. She sat there with everyone on the stone embankment looking at Ganga mata temple on the opposite side and was waiting for the arti to start. The arti started with all the ppl cheering, 'ganga maiyya ki jai" and the arti song blared from loudspeakers "Om jai gange mata".Gulaal sincerely folded her hands as she experienced the divine arti ritual being performed by the Brahmins with huge fire diyas and thousands of floating diyas adorned the Ganga ghat making the River twinkle and glitter with the lights. The crowd cheered and sang together with folded hands.
"Didi ji..ye mala le lijiye na..",cajoled a young girl vendor who was selling cheap rustic artificial pearl malas .
Gulaal just smiled at her and said.., "Humein nahi chahiye."
Kesar saw the young girl whose eyes twinkled in anticipation of some kind of sale of her treasured malas.Kesar's heart melted as he said, "Haan lao..do dena.."
Gulaal was surprised and asked curiously, "Do kisliye?'
K: "Woe k Rewa k liye aur …ek..wo tumhare liye"
The littlegirl was grateful and excitedly said, "bhagwaan apki jodi sada banaye rakhe"
Kesar couldn't help but smile but Gulaal became more conscious. She wanted to stop herself from feeling anything for anybody as she had promised to lock her heart away and never fall in love. But with Kesar shefeltvulnerable. She could not resist being drawn towards him.Her body burned with passion when he looked at her,Her heart melted when he provided solace to her during depressive times. She felt alive with him.Gulaal's eyes had tears as she fought hard to keep up the pretence of not being affected by Kesar. She cursed herself for being so weak. Was she falling in love, asked Gulaal to herself..
"Gulaal…Main aur SF rickshaw se ja rahe hain",Her trail of thoughts was broken by the voice of PB who announced their departure to their hotel .
G: "chaliye Baa "
PB: are tum dono nahi…Jakar market se shopping kar lo sab ke liye.Hum thak gaye hain isliye ja rahe hain..Tum dono paidal aa jana"
G: ji baa, Gulaal felt too feeble to argue. Her own emotional turmoil had left her drained and she could not find any logic to argue any further.
Gulaal walked silently towards Moti Bazaar a narrow dinjy market area adjacent to Har-ki –Pauri adorned with tiny shops selling almost everything on earth from vegetables to artifacts..From religious idols to incense sticks, from books to achaar, murabba everything
Gulaal walked silently along with KesarIt was a beautiful twilight as they walked towards the market. The opal of the town turned slowly to purple ,The tall majestic mountains with dense woods framed the river as a mirror and the first stars came out over the mountains.
The breeze was unusually cool.Seeing Gulaal almost preoccupied with her own thoughts Kesar tried to strike a conversation.. "Gulaal kya soch rahi ho…"
Gulaal knotted her eyebrows ,fumbled and touched her forehead with her fingers and replied, "Wo main sochrahi thi..Kya lun..sab k liye?"
K: "Jo tumhara man ho le lo"
Kesar smirked as he saw a small hand driven cart vendor selling roasted sweet potatoes with ten different types of chutneys.
Kesar exclaimed ecstatically, "Wow Gulaal chalo tumhe aaj ek special cheez khilatein hain…"
Kesar dragged her to the vendorand enthusiastically ordered two plates.Served on leaflets the roasted sweetpotatoes garnished with imli sauce and green chutney was delicious. Gulaal was already in love with the taste of imlis and this street food tasted heavenly.A wide grin ran across her face as if wiping away all her worries and she relished every bite of it.After quickly finishing the chatpata delite Gulaal browsed enthusiastically from shop to shop as she picked up stuff for everyone ..Tulsi mala for SF,earrings for rewa,A walking stick for MB .Her eyes widened and her brows furrowed as she argued and bargained even for a petty amount of Ten rupees.Kesar was relaxed and happy to see her smiling again..Kesar thought "What a stupid Girl…She had the exquisite solemnity and at the same time she could resort to her bubbly self .She had the spirit and charm that could have easily enabled her to steal the hearts of even the barbarious hearts..He was only human..How could he not love her"
After almost buying everything what the shops could offer. They both Finally reached their heritage hotel, The Haveli Hari Ganga on the banks of River Ganga,Built by the raja of pilbhit the Haveli stood as a major luxury hotel for lovers of Royal grandeur.
The Haveli –PB and SF room
PB: Gulaal tu itna sab kuch kya le ayi..
G: are Baa wahan pe itni sari chizein thi..mera to man hi nahi kar raha tha ki main kuch bi chhod dun..par",Gulaal chirped happily as she proudly displayed her shopping skills to PB and SF"
SF: aaj kitna acha din raha..Kitne ache se darshan huye devi k"
Pb : Haan Saru ben ..maine to bhaisahab k liye mannat ka dhaga bhi bandha wahan par.Kehte hain mata mansa devi sabki manokamna puri karti hain"
Sf:ye baat to tumne sach kahi PB .ek dhaga maine aur bandha hai.."
PB: "Kisliye.."
SF: "Ab tumse kya kahun PB ..tum to janti ho is duniya mein mere din hi kitne bache hain…Bas marne se pehle ek akhri ichha aur reh gayi thi…Soma ka vansh age badhta hua dekh jaun..Meri apni koi santaan to nahi hai..Kesar ,vasant aur Rewa ko hi apne bachon ki tarah pala hai maine.Bas ab yehi icha hai ..ki kam se kam Kesar aur Gulaal ke bache ko apni hathon mein ek baar lekar is duniya se vida le lun..'
G: "Ye kaisi batein kar rahi hain aap..aapko kuch nahi hoga SF.."Gulaal gave a shrill lcryas tears rolled down her Cheeks.
Sf hugged Gulaal and placed her hands gently on her hed, "Pagli main kya janti nahi k mujhe kya hua hai..bas ab meri akhri ichaa reh gayi hai..Use puri kar de Gulaal '
Gulaal was speechless. Her heart was in agony and pain..The pain ofnot being able to tell the truth to SF about the actual relationship between Kesar and her.
The Haveli Balcony attached to KG room 10:30 pm
The words of SF echoed in the ears of Gulaal as she walked briskly and restlessly on the Haveli balcony .Therewas solitude everywhere as the balcony projected on the rushing waters of the river Ganga. The soothing darkness of the night compounded her gloom and the dark clouds made it more morose and lifeless. She felt restless and had remained unusually silent during the Dinner completely avoiding any conversation with Kesar.
"Gulaal chalo ab sone..bahut der ho gayi hai"The sweet and endearing voice of Kesar abruptly ended the silence .Gulaal looked at him and replied , "Mujhe nahi ana tu so ja.."
Kesar sensed something wrong .He came near her and said,Kya baat hai..shaam se dekh raha hun tum pareshan ho."He came near and placed his hand on her shoulders.
G: "Haath mat laga mujhe Kesar..Dur chala ja..Tu kyun merepaas ata hain..mujhe akela chhod de.",shot back Gulaal who had been torn apart by her feelings desperately trying her futile attempt to snub him
Kesar was shocked and hurt.He grabbed her arms and reverted, "tumhe ho kya jata hai..kabhi to lagta hai k tum mere saath bahut khush ho..agle hi pal mujhe dur jane ko kehti ho…Akhir maine kiya kya ..meri galti kya hai…Bolo Gulaal..akhir itni berukhi kyun"
Gulaal could not control her emotions and shouted.. , "PLS mujhe akela chhod de Kesar…pls.."
Kesar was perplexed and his heart was crying in pain and anguish, "Thik hai Gulaal..agar tumhe mera saath itna pareshaan karta hai..to aaj k bad main kabhi nahi pareshaan karunga tumhe"He said as he tried hard to to control his tears as he walked away.Gulaal burst into tears and wept inconsolably.
KG room 1:00 am
Kesar had tried his best to sleep but kept on being restless but finally his tired body had resigned and sleep had overpowered him.
He was suddenly woken up by the continuous tinkling sound of anklets and bangles.Still sleepy and tired,Kesar lazily put the pillows on his ear to cover them and said, "Hmmm ..offo Gulaal karwatein badalna band karo..tumhari choodiyon aur payal ki awaz meri neend kharab kar rahi hai."
There was silence for sometime but after sometime Kesar could hearthe soft sobs Gulaal as tinkling of her anklets gave a signal that she had got up and walked towards the balcony.Kesar's mind was not at rest ..He quickly followed her..Gulaal was standing near the edge of the balcony leaning towards the river. She was sobbing quite audibly.Kesar came cose to her and gently
Whispered, "Phir se marne ka man bana liya kya?"
Gulaal turned and looked at him .Her eyes were swollen and red.Kesar smirked at his remark but Gulaal burst into tears and hugged him and wept inconsolably in his arms.Kesar was taken aback. He breathed a huge sigh of relief .
G: "Mujhe maaf kar de Kesar…pata nahi mujhe kya ho jata...ai..Wo mere man main itna kuch chal raha hai..Wo subah wali puja..phir wo sindoor ye and sab.Mujhe .."
K: "Shhh …"Kesar placed his fingers on her lips . "pehle yahn baitho aur rona band karo.."He made her sit on the wooden antique chairs on the balcony and w iped her tears.
K: "Gulaal bhale hi tumhari nazron mein humara rishta sirf dosti ka hai..par sach to ye hi hai na ki Agni ko sakshi mankar humne saat phere liye hain..samaj aur ishwar k samne hum pati patni hain.To ye rasmein to hongi hi na.Sirf itni si baat k liye ro rahi thi..Tum roya mat karo…Mujhe acha nahi lagta..Tum roti ho to main apne aako majboor mehsoos karta hun."
Gulaal's anxiety soothed due his caring words. She mumbled , "Mujhe bas dar lag rah hai Kesar"
Kesar pulled her closer and wrapped her in his arms.Gulaal was speechless. If only she could tell him the real cause of her fear was him only. She was afraid to to love him completely. What if he was only playing with her heart like Vasant.Maybe he was just fulfilling his duty towards her and sympathizing with her plight. She was afraid that she would fall so far and never be able to recover
