no body can speculate what the future will be..thats what happend with KG and thats why it is an unconvential and yet pure love story

And these E24 etc. ppl hardly ever follow the storylines of shows closely enough to know what they are talking about...a few days back a segment was also talking about a "love triangle" b/w Kesar-Talli-Kunal...and do we see that? Umm I don't think so.

Gulaal has NEVER thought of Kesar as her "son"...if that was the case, the zillion and one other signs of what the K and G relationship would evolve as since the very beginning of the show...none of those signs would be shown.

Gulaal NURTURED Kesar when he was younger, yes she did...but is the only label for nurturing someone equivalent to making them mother-son? A woman nurtures a man in so many ways, in so many roles...these things evolve with time.

If you watch this clip. Its from a E24 U Me aur TV. What it states about Gulaal serial that Kesar Gulaal se pyar karta hai aur Gulaal ye baat mannaey ko tyar hi nahin hogi kyun jis Kesar ko woh apne betay ki tarah manti hai woh uss se pyar karne lagta hai. and so on..

So when I raised this question earlier, few friends on this forum suggested.. hush!! don't label this love. Well if you can really feel her expressions when she slaps him under the shed, her reactions really tells that what relationship she had.but later on the writers started twisting and bending to convert that into a romantic relationship that you can call unconventional.

What I understand from Arti, is that we may think it to be unique but its not within the norms of the society. Highlighting such a relationship may not be accepted easily.

In my view the 2 reasons for low TRPs to this show r:

1. The time slot. In my personal view, there is no show on TV tht can match gulaal no matter what time it is aired but as far as the broader perspective is concerned, we cannot deny the fact tht the housewives in our country esp our older generation (no offence meant honestly) still somehow clings on to the daily mirch-masala-pakwaan-shaadi-isney kaha-usne kaha-amma ji-dada ji-honour issues kind of daily stuff.. probably that is what they can relate to more for certain genuine reasons.. so a certain director is deliberately targetting and reinstigating such stuff as it is relatively easy to create, recreate, stretch and overstretch such petty dramas on a daily basis rather than creating a masterpiece like gulaal tht requires some "thinking" (which the other shows continue to evade)... So, having said tht, a certain Pavitra Rishta takes away most of the TRPs of other shows at 9 (although to me, it is a show i wud love to avoid even if it becomes the only show to be aired 24X7 on all the channels thruout the world🤢). So, a different time slot for the show, instead of re-re-re-repeating other dramas can work on the TRPs part.

2. Another major reason for low TRPs for Gulaal is the stepmotherly treatment given to this show as far as the promotion is concerned.. if one misses out on the 9 pm and 12 pm telecasts, u may never find out tht show is still running on the channel or not.. such non-existent are the promos of the show. .whereas for all the other shows of SP, every week they have a new promo regarding their sabji-raita-tadka-dessert fiasco etc etc... Gulaal is a breath of fresh air in the world of indian soaps.. jst wish the channel promoted it tht way

Sufficient re-runs. Or they cover the whole week episodes over the weekend.

Uff.. still haven't been able to put up with "Gul ending" news... Kunaal would say:

gulaal show opened the way to uniqueness in tellyworld. it came much earlier that has to come after 10yrs i think but for everything there has to be beginning so it started with gulaal show.
coming to show beginning was not presented well. ya most of the serials starts beginnn very well n after few days they go weird n we stop watching it. i watched few epi beginning the pace of the show was dry n slow it didn't connect well. later it picked n came to medium pace may be becos of trps.
there is nothing to add this serial to make it popular.
if added to make popular amnong general audience then wats the diff between gulaal n topi serial.
gulaal is popular or not who cares it is unique n master piece in tellyworld thats matters.👍🏼😊
