No. I just meant to say that it is bound to be appreciated outside the general viewership of Star Plus.

you think shifting to another time slot will ease the pressure of the TRPs on this show?

Why do you assume that make changes will dilute the quality? More interesting tracks can pull in more viewers without actually diluting any quality.

Personally, If the show ended naturally after a couple more months, I would have no problem. Or even if Star Plus gave the makers a couple months' notice. We don't know what the CVs have been told, but one thing that bothers me is what many of the articles imply. That Gulaal may or may not shift to a new timeslot. How is that fair to the creatives? This is not a problem with just the Indian television industry, but other television industries as well. But nevertheless, it sucks that they're not at least given a few months warning ahead of a sure cancellation.
Well getting a couple of months is the problem. How do you we get these couple of months? 😊

LOL I'm damn amused at the Vasant v/s Kesar argument being raised YET again...😆

Vasant was a larger than life hero figure...if that was all there was supposed to be to Gulaal as a show, it would have stagnated LONG time back. But yeah maybe it would have gotten higher TRPs since audience tastes don't evolve beyond lame crapfests like Saathiya or whatever other kind of crap polluting the airwaves currently...The more pathetic, typical and TRITE a show, the more ppl enjoy it...amazing equation.

Kesar as a character is too brilliantly multi-layered...First Ali's ...and now Neil's portrayal of him is so fantastic that in my opinion, it MAKES the show to a large extent...I wouldn't trade that for anything...not even the so called so important TRPs...if only crapfests can get TRPs, then they are welcome to those TRPs...

Lets be realistic, just because the story or show is damn good, you expect Mansi, Neil and others to work for free?

I'd rather a show's quality be retained throughout...which is what Gulaal has done till this day and that is very commendable.

Quality can still be retained by adding more interesting tracks to which people can relate. How many of us on this forum can relate to Kesar = Gulaal relationship??

You know to me the irony is that Gulaal DOES have those elements in a sense...Gulaal IS a good bahu, always thinking of the family, respecting the elders etc. etc...that is all there...but at the same time she is a very HUMAN character with all her flaws too...she has a solid ego, she can be short-sighted in some ways...I admire her for the way she has stood up for her self-respect in the most terrible of circumstances...even if ultimately in some ways she closed herself off too much...so yeah I feel Gulaal as a character has those traits but not in a TYPICAL fashion.

Also probably the fact that Manasi is a phenomenal actress unlike the wooden planks posing as "perfect bahus" on every channel...yeah that probably isn't something the aunty brigade would enjoy watching either😆

That is the trouble! The less you act, the higher the trps. Seriously, what other actress on SP or any other channel can act like Manasi can? It's this weird mentality of the Indian audience which makes movies like 'Singh is King' blockbusters but a 'Dor' will go unnoticed by the public. Then they complain that no-one makes quality cinema any more!

You're so right...actually I should expect Manasi, Neil and everyone to quit this show instantly, the entire writing team should be changed and the writing team of Saathiya or other gems like YRKKH should take over this show...and some new actors who don't know the A of acting should be hired...this show will be a guaranteed success then👍🏼....this isn't about whether the show is good or not...oh no, this should be about what the audience wants...and obviously the audience has spoken...they only want to watch Saathiya or YRKKH.

LMAO oh yes...a show is only supposed to be watched to RELATE to relationships...not to view it as a piece or ART, a literary masterpiece...this is great logic...so every movie or show we watch is only cuz we should expect THOSE relationships to happen in OUR lives?🤣...how about viewing it for the character traits? For how a STORY unfolds?? But I guess not...since we are speaking of how to make something "easy" for the audience to view...easy = not having to apply any brainpower.

🤣 We don't relate to bhoots but we get horror shows/movies.

If we don't relate to Gulaal-Kesar's relationship then we also don't relate to flying dupattas, 10min eye locks either 😕 Well I don't!

Oh but we must, Reemz...if we watch a movie about a serial killer, we must identify with the serial killer...if we watch a spy thriller, we must relate to James Bond as something that we would see in our lives🤔

And you know what, all this aside...YES, I'll say I DO I identify with the Kesar-Gulaal relationship...and you know why? Because before anything, it is a wonderful HUMAN relationship...the bond b/w two human beings that has evolved so BEAUTIFULLY evolved...that it doesn't need LABELS, it's not dependent on the judgements passed by society...it is so beyond all that.
