Written Update July 23, 2011 - Completed w/ precap

Sudha chooses the jewelry and pays for them, the remaining payment will be made once the shopkeeper drops off all jewelry at their place. Once outside Raman says he forgot his mobile inside and goes in and the shopkeeper gives the money to Raman and tells him that their jewelry looks like new so he shouldn't worry. Kunal is still with Talli and shows her the ring he purchased for her, Talli has no reaction, he says everything will look good on her. He continues blabbing away and when Talli doesn't respond, he tells her sometimes he thinks she has someone else in her mind, she looks at him and says no. She tells him she likes yellow flowers, he feels very happy and says he too likes yellow flowers. Kunal reminds me of Talli, just one smile of Kesar's makes her happy just like one mention of her likes makes Kunal happy. Raman tells Sudha he has to invite his friend and goes inside, giving the money to someone and says he will arrange for the remaining soon. Dushyant sees him, Raman makes an excuse saying its for business. He asks Raman why they didn't buy jewelry from their family jeweler, Raman gets defensive and goes on the attack accusing Dushyant of having a commission in the jewelry, Dushyant asks him to leave it, Raman again expresses anger saying he has a right to make decisions about his family. Dushyant is seeing all the signs towards something being amiss with Raman, he should follow his gut else he may end up the guilty one.

Gulaal is getting all the decorations ready. Kesar asks where the lights are, Gulaal says what is the need for lights, he says for light, what else, if he is not around no work is done right. Gulaal tells the worker not to listen to Kesar and put flowers everywhere, Kesar tells him to go get the lights, both argue and the poor worker climbs up and down the ladder listening to both, the worker says his work is done can he leave now. Kesar says he will call his boss. Gulaal asks Kesar when is Talli's engagement, he gets annoyed and says tomorrow, she asks mischievously when, he says morning and now don't ask what time, then Kesar realizes something and stops mid-way that of course they don't need lights in the morning, Gulaal tries to control her giggle and says go ahead, dial the number, the worker says that is what he was trying to explain, Kesar gets annoyed saying flowers are done, now get down. I love Kesar and Gulaal - they have created their own little world totally oblivious to everyone else, and both look sooo happy. Gulaal laughs loudly at him.

Gulaal asks where Talli and everyone is, Kesar says he forgot, he left Talli with Kunal, and Gulaal is shocked. Raman and Sudha come and Gulaal calls out Sudha's name, Kesar covers her lips with his hands and takes her aside, pitting her against the wall he doesn't let her speak and asks her to take care of Sudha, he forgot to pick up Talli and Kunal must be on his way to drop her off, he will wait outside and bring her home. Suddenly Gulaal realizes that Kesar's one hand is holding hers and the other covering her lips and she is awkward, Kesar realizes too and releases her. Gulaal was the first one to realize this, she is developing something for him even though clearly he was in a different mood. Gulaal says she will not lie (yeah right, she is liar of the century), Kesar asks her to manage for him, for Talli, and runs away.

Sudha asks for Talli, Gulaal says Kesar must be on his way back with her, someone comes and puts luggage on the floor. Enter Saru in heavily Kutchi accented hindi. Everyone is happy to see her. Saru complains that nobody came to pick her up, they say she was supposed to come the next day, she says she got tickets earlier. Jamna expresses happiness at seeing her, she says Jamna is like a bee's honey, she talks so sweetly, Jamna gives a more held-back smile. Mota Bha and Ghigha are happy to see her, she hugs them and asks for Gulaal, Gulaal brings something and Saru says even after all these years Gulaal remembers that Saru needs water and sweets after coming from outside, Jamna pitches in saying that Saru likes kaju-katli (cashewnut sweet) in sweets, she remembers even now. Kesar comes in with Talli and looks wondering who this woman is, Mota Bha says she is Saru, Saru is shocked to see Kesar all grown up, Kesar like his cute adorable young self runs and hugs her and she pets him. Talli takes her blessing, she asks who this girl is and where is she returning from with Kesar. Gulaal introduces her as Talli, Sudha's daughter, Saru says this is Talli who wanted to marry Kesar despite knowing that Kesar is married, Gulaal changes the topic and asks her to rest in her room. Everyone is embarrassed. Saru says now she has nothing to do but rest, but everyone else will need to worry about their rest, right Jamna. Lol, its funny how she is picking on Jamna and Jamna is like a young daughter-in-law who wants to impress her. Jamna is such an amazing actress - she plays every part with such aplomb. Mota Bha and Ghigha take Saru to her room. Everyone looks like they dodged a bullet. Jamna makes a face and says even after all these years this woman...

Raman goes with some sweets to Kunal's parents' place and asks to meet Kunal. Kunal's mother asks the father to make an excuse and prolong Kunal's time outside in the market or something to prevent Raman from meeting Kunal. Everyone here is playing a cat and mouse game. The father goes to greet Raman, Raman says he convinced his family to give them money, not 5 but 10 lakhs. The parents are shocked. Raman says he plans to open a clothing business with Kunal, they say Kunal is going to do a job in the city, Raman says Kunal just needs to partner and Raman will take care of everything, Kunal can then just reap the profits, Raman plans to put in 25 lakhs and the parents can put in 10 lakhs that they get. The parents say that they planned to spend the money on wedding preparations, there is a case on their farms which is why the demanded dowry, Raman tells them that Kunal will make more money every month than his investment, his phone rings and he steps aside. The mother questions the father whether each month they will get 10 lakhs and how can they give up the entire money, the father tells her that Raman's family is rich and they must make that much money, if they delay they will miss this opportunity. Raman comes back and says why don't they keep 5 lakhs and give him the remaining 5, he will manage somehow. They agree and Raman goes to leave. Kunal comes there and meets him, Raman leaves. Its scary how confident Raman is. I think its a sign that Kunal saw Raman at his place, else why would the CVs show their meeting for just a few seconds.

The women are laughing, Saru gives out gifts to everyone. Dushyant comes and takes her blessings, she asks him if he selected a girl, and asks Jamna what kind of a mother is she, she hasn't selected a girl yet for him, Jamna says he doesn't like anybody. Dushyant excuses himself and leaves. Saru tells them someone should explain to him that a girl is necessary for one's life, she tells Jamna to sometimes remember that she is his mother and find someone, Jamna tells her now she has arrived she should find someone, Saru tells her if she was here by now grandkids would be playing in Jamna's lap, Jamna feels upset. Saru gifts Gulaal the statue of a Goddess, Gulaal feels touched and happy. Jamna makes a face, Saru asks why she didn't like it, Jamna butters her saying her choice is the best and she is happy seeing her love for Gulaal, but how long will this last, after a few days... Paan Baa changes the topic. Paan Baa and Jamna leave, Saru tells Gulaal she wants to talk to her.

Saru tells Gulaal she has high expectations from Gulaal, after Vasant's death she wanted to come and support her but she didn't have the courage, but she is happy with Gulaal's step of doing deeyarvattu and remaining the family's daughter-in-law, nobody can take care of the family more than her, she doesn't expect anything from Jamna, if Jamna had her way this family would have broken ages ago, but with Gulaal there the family is together. Gulaal tells her this family will always remain a part of her, wherever she goes she will pray for the family's good. Saru asks where Gulaal is going, she will never leave this house. She sees Kesar listening sadly at the entrance and asks him to come in, he smiles and sits next to her saying he heard she was distributing gifts so he also came, she tells him that both are husband wife so their gift is one. Saru tells Kesar that Gulaal is the treasure of this house so he should always take care of her, he says yes, his mission is the same, Gulaal looks at him probably with some guilt, they have an eyelock of understanding, Kesar says he means that he will always try to keep her happy. Gulaal looks away guiltily. I love how Kesar time and again makes it very clear how important her happiness is come what may, and doesn't hesitate to say it to everyone. Saru is happy.

Reva is waiting for Yogesh, he comes home late. His father scolds him. He says he was working late for more salary, the father scolds him saying what is the need to feed his ego with more money, why did he send Rohan to a school where fees are higher than his salary, Yogesh says why not, he wants to give his son everything that he didn't get, he is not asking anyone else for money, both have a heated argument and the father is hurt with Yogesh's disrespect. The father tells him that not money but values are what make a person's life, and he himself brought Yogesh up accordingly. Yogesh yells at him saying not to get him started else he will also not hold back. Did Yogesh have an unhappy childhood? Maybe the parents were more focused on Gulaal, seems strange to see this 360 with Yogesh - he used to be so different. Its like the CVs decided to change his entire character and brought in someone new to make it easier to adjust for the audience. Reva is shocked. Yogesh continues that he doesn't want to start the conversation about what his upbringing lacked, he wants to make sure his son never has to work for someone else. His father is totally wounded. Reva consoles him. She opens Yogesh's bag and sees a ton of money.

Kesar takes his blanket and goes to leave the room when Gulaal stops him and asks him to leave after sometime, after Saru sleeps, what if she sees him. Kesar agrees and waits next to the window in his sexy white kurta while Gulaal sits on the edge of the bed. They are both so awkward. Kesar turns around and sees Gulaal waiting, Gulaal cannot meet his eyes and looks down as if shy or awkward or something. I love seeing this Gulaal, its as if her heart flutters or something looking at him, she never meets his eyes when they are alone, but Kesar looks at her directly not caring at all. Kesar tells her at least she should try to sleep, Gulaal refuses and says she is not sleepy, she drinks water and waits without looking at him even though he has his back to her, both wait awkwardly.

Late at night, Saru is thirsty and there is no water in her glass, she gets up to fill water and sees Kesar sleeping outside on the terrace. Okay, I hate Gulaal for this, why does Kesar have to sleep on the terrace, can he not sleep on the floor or something in the room? Ugh, poor guy. Saru goes to the terrace (love how she doesn't wait for morning). She wakes him and he gets up all shocked but still looking sleepy, she yells at him for sleeping outside and asks him to go to his room, he says he felt sleepy so went to sleep here and will go to his room in the morning, she scolds him and makes him take his bedding and go to the room. Its sooo funny how Kesar stands up with a jerk and how she scolds him. Gulaal the maharani is sleeping on the bed with the door locked, Saru knocks on her door. Gulaal covers her head and opens the door and steps back shocked when she sees Saru with a sleepy Kesar with his bedding. Saru scolds Gulaal and tells her that husband wife fights should not go outside the room, what will people say if they see Kesar sleeping on the terrace, then she tells Kesar he said nothing matters more than Gulaal's happiness and now he is fighting with her, she tells Gulaal she is mature, how could she let Kesar sleep outside, he is her HUSBAND. Saru asks both to make up and says they need to stay together their entire life. Before leaving she says "dafod" which means stupid. Hahahahaha... I LOVE LOVE LOVE Saru. This family NEEDS someone like her, since Mota Bha has retired and Paan Baa is busy appeasing Gulaal. Saru leaves both inside and shuts the door to their room.

Kesar looks at Gulaal but she cannot meet his eyes, he leaves his bedding on the bed and goes to sit on the chair when Gulaal asks him to sleep on the bed, he says he is fine on the chair and sits and asks her to sleep, he is on the chair and the camera pans to his childhood photo, Gulaal sits on the bed with her head covered all awkward and the camera pans to Vasant's photo behind her, Kesar dozes off but can't sleep, Gulaal falls asleep seated and resting on the headboard, Kesar gets up and puts a pillow below her head when she wakes up and sees him, he pulls his hand back as if he got a current and goes back to his chair, Gulaal sits straight and falls asleep resting on her hand, Kesar looks on.

Next morning everyone is at the table eating, the whole family together except Talli. Raman comes there, Saru scolds him for not coming to meet her the previous day. Saru praises the food and says Gulaal must have made this, Gulaal smiles and Kesar is proud. Saru calls Talli and asks if she knows to cook, there is no better way to please ones husband other than good food. She tells her see how Gulaal cooks good food for her husband, Gulaal's smile fades and she looks embarrassed as does Kesar, Kesar looks at Gulaal like he does in every single situation. Mota Bha is also worried. Saru tells Talli to learn to cook from Gulaal before leaving. Gulaal changes the topic and tells Talli she has made her favorite sweet so she should eat it. Saru tells Mota Bha he is lucky to have a daughter-in-law like Gulaal who takes care of everything, his old age will go peacefully. Jamna says but conditions will change by then, Saru is talking about years later but here 2 months later... someone announces that the lawyer has arrived.

Saru had called the lawyer because she wants to designate Gulaal and Kesar's child as heir to her 500 acres land. Kesar and Gulaal are shocked and again Kesar looks at Gulaal like what to do now. Kesar himself is a kid, how can he have another one lol. Jamna is furious, Raman looks like wow more money to rip off in the family, had he known he would have sucked up more to Saru. Kesar and Gulaal have an eyelock full of worry.

Precap: Jamna tells Raman that if Saru finds out about the deeyarvattu then her land will fall in the hands of her sons instead of Kesar and Gulaal. Ghigha asks her to be ashamed of herself, and under no circumstance should the deeyarvattu's breaking reach Saru's ears from their lips.
